  1. For the last 6 years, apart from giving birth and bringing up my children, I have also been studying for an degree with honours in English language and literature with the Open University. The last few months have been really stressful because there has been so much happening in our everyday lives which really affected my studies. Yesterday I got my results..... I got a 2.1 and I'm really really pleased  Sorry I had to share. Nicki

Lib Dems finished as a party

The minute Clegg got big stars in his eyes and the slobbering greed kicked in all reason was out the window and his party's political credibility was shot. Forever. The Party's Pooped: Lib Dems Hit All-Time Low http://news.sky.com/skynews/Home/Politics/Council-Elections-2011-In-Depth-Analysis-Of-How-The-Local-Elections-Have-Crushed-The-Lib-Dems/Article/201105115986694?lpos=Politics_First_Poilitics_Article_Teaser_Regi_2&lid=ARTICLE_15986694_Council_Elections_2011%3A_In_Depth_Analysis_Of_How_The_Local_Elections_Have_Crushed_The_Lib_Dems
  4. I need some advice, my husband comes to Perth in Feb/March and it is our intention that we follow in July. My problem is my son is in year 10 so next year he will be doing his GCSE's he has worked really hard this year and is on for A's and B's do I wait to join my husband unitl he has finished his GCSE's so instead of coming over in 2011 it will be 2012. I really don't know what to do for the best. Has anybody been in this situation who could give me some advice. Thank you Diane x
  5. Hi everyone, I have been offered an amazing job with a well known Australian company (I am currently on a student visa, course finished 20/11 and I have my qualifications already). The problem is finding the piece of immigration legislation that says I can work full time until my visa expires (March 2010). I will be applying for PR and will automatically get a bridging visa, but until this happens (around a month away) the company will not let me start with them until I can prove to them that I can work on my current visa Can someone please copy and paste the legislation on here so I can send it to the HR manager? Thanks in advance, Will
  6. We have now been granted our visa and are heading to Brisbane, as it took longer than we expected our 14 year old son has now started his GCSEs and as you can imagine is reluctant to start all over again. Has anyone else emigrated in the middle of the kids GCSEs? Which year would he go into in australia , hes currently in year 10 here. Also when does the school year start in Australia? We are now wondering whether to just validate our visas and stay here another year and a half until he finishes, but I think it would be even harder for him to leave then. I would be grateful if anyone has been through the same problem and if their teenager likes the australian school system and is still talking to them!!!! Many Thanks Julie aaaah the joys of teenagers
