    Female friends in Melbourne

A shout out to all girls from the UK now living in and around Melbourne. I'd love to make some new friends to add to the group I have (mostly Kiwis, one other Brit and a few Aussie guys so far) and set up a regular weekend lunch get together or meet up for a drink to share our war stories. I'm 39, attached, live in Fitzroy and work in South Melbourne. I have two high maintenance cats but no kids and have some weird and wonderful pass-times ranging from DJing to sewing and wine-tasting (and drinking) to scuba diving so I'm not fussed about making friends with younger or older girls, providing you're up for having a laugh, have something to say and happy to take turns organizing meet-ups. Let me know who's interested in getting involved and I'll suggest a venue and date over the next couple of weeks, especially as spring is around the corner. C'mon girls, we can all go on a big blind date together ) Pj

  5. Hi everyone, I'm 29 and live in the Hills district in Sydney. I moved over from England a year ago (I'm half English/half Irish) to be with my Australian boyfriend and am still struggling to meet friends. It's so much harder when you're older and not going out every night! Does anyone fancy a Saturday lunch get together?
  6. To all those girls who want more female friends! I'm 34 and recently moved to Sydney (from UK), with my boyfriend, 36. Though we're loving it (living on Northern Beaches), I'm really want to make some girl friends and we're both also interested in meeting up with other couples. Give me a shout if you're keen for a coffee or cocktail!
  7. Hi guys. My names ashley from glasgow. I'm young, single and seriously thinking about making a move to oz to work. I qualified in 2009 with my degree in psychiatric nursing. I have now nearly 2 years of working with addictions and social work regarding child protection cases behind me. I have no ties to stop me however the thought is naturally daunting. I've lived in perth, western oz for a few months back in 2009 and wasn't impressed. Beautiful place of course however i am a city chic and was told by backpackers whom i met in pubs in perth then i would like Melbourne better as it is more modern and cosmopolitan. Is this the case? Would love to hear from folk. Thanks

    Young female adults

Hi There We have been living in Baldivis for over 2 years now, our 14 year old has made lots of friends through school but our oldest daughter who is 20 has found it very hard to make friends. She is a lovely person but is quite shy and doesn't really go nightclubbing, so has found it hard to make new friends. Most of the people we have met have got younger kids. Has anyone got a similar situation or are you in that age range and looking to make new friends? I am really worried about her, although she is happy and has a great full time job, I worry she is not making the most of her time here. Any advice would be greatly appreciated - from a concerned parent
  9. Hi, my name is Karen, a young 47 year old, separated and currently live in Calamvale, south of the CBD Brisbane. I came to Brisbane a little over 2 years ago from Scotland. Since my separation I have been a bit of a hermit, but have been trying to change this through latin dance classes and trying to maintain links with my local gym! I am looking to meet new friends for a coffee or a lovely glass of wine. Let me know if your interested in meeting up some time. Karen

    Male or Female

We must have all asked ourselves the question sometime in our lives ........i wish i had been born a female or i wish i had been born a male ............i know from a sexual way that many males including myself .....if i was born a female i would be a lady of the night and enjoy the intercourse , thats what most hot blooded males want......but is this true .....for me yes......
  11. Hi there, I'm a 31 year old, single female from London who's seriously thinking about emigrating to Sydney or Melbourne at the end of this year. I was in Oz for most of 2008 and absolutely feel in love with the place. In fact, I've been dreaming about getting back out there ever since I landed back in the UK in December 2008! I work as a qualitative researcher and have been assured by various companies that sponsorship would not be a problem, however.... I'm becoming more and more worried about doing it alone Are there any other single British girls out there of a similar age that made the move? If so, I'd love to hear your experiences... how did/do you find Oz vs. UK? How easy/difficult has it been to make new friends? What advice do you have for someone like me? Any information would be greatly appreciated! Thanks x

  15. Hello there! My name is Ellie, I'm 26, female, and moving to Sydney on 1st November 2010 from Manchester, England. I'll be working near Harbour Bridge (as an Environmental Engineer) and would like to rent a fully furnished room in a house/flat for around $200 a week including bills, either close to my work or somewhere which has good transport links. Also must have internet but other than that I have no real requirements! I'm very reliable, easy-going, clean, tidy and considerate. I enjoy walking, cinema, theatre, reading, music, cooking (and eating!) arts and crafts and having a chat over a good old glass of wine, but I'm always keen to try new things too! If you think you have something roughly matching this/or know anyone who could help, please get in touch! Thanks for taking the time to read this and hope to speak soon, Ellie

  19. A friend sent me this in an email-very funny I reckon. For All Female IT Users - New Software Releases INSTALLING A HUSBAND Dear Tech Support, Last year I upgraded from Boyfriend 5.0 to Husband 1.0 and noticed a distinct slow down in overall system performance, particularly in the flower and jewellery applications, which operated flawlessly under Boyfriend 5.0. In addition, Husband 1.0 uninstalled many other valuable programs, such as Romance 9.5 and Personal Attention 6.5, and then installed undesirable programs such as Football 6.0, Cricket 5.1 and Golf Clubs 4.1. Conversation 8.0 no longer runs, and Housecleaning 2.6 simply crashes the system. Please note that I have tried running Nagging 5.3 to fix these problems, but to no avail, in fact Husband 1.0 seemed to slow even further. What can I do? Signed, Desperate. DEAR DESPERATE, First, keep in mind, Boyfriend 5.0 is an Entertainment Package, while Husband 1.0 is an operating system. Please enter command: ithoughtyoulovedme.html and try to download< /FONT> Tears 6.2 and do not forget to install the Guilt 3.0 update. If that application works as designed, Husband 1.0 should then automatically run the applications Jewellery 2.0 and Flowers 3.5. However, remember, overuse of the above application can cause Husband 1.0 to default to< U> Grumpy Silence 2.5, Happy Hour 7.0 or Beer 12.1. Please note that Beer 12.1 is a very bad program that will download the Snoring program as well as disable spell checker and voice recognition Whatever you do, DO NOT under any circumstances install Mother-In-Law 1.0 (it runs a virus in the background that will try to seize control of all your operating system resources.) In addition, please do not attempt to reinstall the Boyfriend 5.0-program. These are unsupported applications and will crash Husband 1.0. In summary, Husband 1.0 is a great program, but it does have limited memory and cannot learn new applications quickly. You might consider new software to improve performance. We recommend Cooking 3.0 and* Hot Lingerie 7.7. Tech Support

    Good Female Doctor in Rockingham???

Anyone know of a good Doctor in the Rockingham area? Prefer a female doctor or one that bulk bills...any suggestions? Thanks!
  21. Hi All Dilemma - I'm a 29 year old, female accountant. Looking to move to either Sydney or Melbourne in the next 6 months. Sponsorship is not a problem I just need to decide where I want to live and wondered if some of you experienced Poms in Oz had any thoughts? I'm a country girl who has embraced the city girl lifestyle (but hate London - too dirty & faceless), love meeting girlie friends for drinks/coffee, dinner out, shopping, live music, not a huge clubber but partial to an occasional cheesy disco after a few G&Ts. Love modern, contemporary style and I'm attracted to a cosmopolitan atmosphere. I immediately thought of Sydney but I'm worried it could be too much like London. I'm coming alone so I want to meet loads of people and make new friends. Any thoughts on which I should pick? Or any thoughts of pros/cons for either city? Thanks muchly in advance for any advice! Laura x:smile:
  22. Hello! My names Chelsea, 16 years of age. I am currently living in England. My family decided to move to Oz about a year ago. Weve got the go ahead now and the big move is around the beginning of September! As you can expect i am very nervous but at the same time very excited for the start of soemthing new! Im a typical teenager like to go out and do my own thing. Without my friends back here i dont know what id do, so the only worry about moving is that i wont make any friends, otherwise im okay. Obviously its a big step at this time in my life and i would just like a couple of people to come forward whos around in this area to socialise with and to show me the ropes sort of thing! 24. :idea:Hi everyone My 27 yearold daughter has just gone to Sydney on a year's working visa - totally all by herself. Things are only moviing slowly and there have been a few unexpected glitches. 25. Hi i'm a 23 year old nurse living in Brissie and I'm all on my lonesome. Looking for female travel companion to go Fraser Island, Byron Bay, Dreamworld, White Water World, Australia Zoo and if your interested I'm off to Sydney for Mardi Gras for a few days at beginning of March. And anywhere else we can think of. Unfortunetly Sydney is the furthest I am ale to travel due to funds and work. I'm all on my own and can only entertain (and talk to myself) for so long. So if there is a likeminded person out there we can go and explore together. Hayley
