I've been sat at the computer for hours and researching this whole visa process. Quickly realising I have been completely niave about the process and timeframes. Only reason we wanted to move was to access services for our children with autism. Hubby was trying to get work and the idea was he would go to UK first, get things sorted and we would follow. But noone wants to talk to him until he is actually in the UK. We don't havethe money to gamble on him going over without something positive workwise. But then I found work. But They want me to start soon but will wait 6 weeks (could stretch to 8). First problem, no passports for anyone. Now find out the kids and hubby need British passports. Need them before applying for my visa. But they take 3 weeks to process! Wish we could all just get Aussies passports and use the priority service So now I'm sitting here crying as I know I would not get the visa in time to take up the offer of work. Without the job, we couldn't move. Without the move, we are stuck here where the services for the children aren't as good. I'm devastated. Absolutely gutted. This meant so much to us as a family and far more than just a pining for hubby to return home. To pay all that money for passports with slim chance of actually getting a visa in time is huge. I tend to equate everything with therapy hours. But if it was a cost towards a better future then it is justified. I'll go to bed and hopefull the people at the HC will be like fairy godmother and alleviate my fears.

Gotta tell you as this made me laugh (but I could have cried too!!)............. My Oh, Mr jonseywife was talking on the phone to a mate just now, and I could'nt help but over hear the phone call (he shouts too much anyway, love him !!!) He was obviously explaining how quick all this visa malrkey has been and how it's not been too stressful, (bearing in mind he has done absolutely nothing towards all this over the last 18 months, I thought he's gotta be joking right :shocked: ) Then he carries on and was obviously asked wot happens now!? "Wot happens now", he says... "I dont blooming know, the VISA FAIRY does it all and I just get on the plane !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! " I was speechless for once & thought that just about sums it all up !!!!!!!!!!!! Has any one else got a visa fairy ?????? :arghh: :wacko::biglaugh:
