  3. Hi Good day We hear and read that CO's say your application is under security checks by external agency or External agency has not completed the report yet ( in my case) Now, I would like to know, is external agency an organization working in applicant's home land? Do they contact applicant's government authority to obtain information ( By legal way ) or they obtain information by illegal ways through spies or their staff in applicant's home land ? I know answering to this question is very difficult but I think there are some users in this forum who are able to share their information and experience. Regards

    External checks - Please advise

Hi all Do you know that Immigration Deparment - case officers normally do external check before or after they contact us for documents? I'm Accountant (CSL), I got the Case Officer who contacted me as I need the revised ackonwledgement letter for my application. He's CO of my case as the title of the email is"Acknoeldgement letter - CO.....". I just wonder if he's CO, he normally contacts me soon as he's allocated from 1 Feb. Until now, I have not received any emails from him. Does he do the external check or what is the reasons I have to wait more then 3 weeks but no information from him. I'm from HR, Vietnam. Suggestions/Advices welcome. Thanks
  8. Today received an answer for my PLE: 2 At the moment Mr McKlaut application is undergoing routine processing (character assessment checking procedures) and these were initiated when his application was assessed in late August 2009 and these have not yet been finalised. These procedures form part of the routine processing of visa applications generally. They are undertaken by external agencies and we are bound by their timeframes. We cannot advise how long these procedures will take to be finalised but they do usually take a number of months. These must be completed before processing can continue on Mr McKlaut's application. 3 Mr McKlaut application is not decision ready for the reason noted in (2) above. 4 As mentioned, it is not possible to provide a timeframe for completion of the routine processing procedures noted above. The Case Officer checks on the application at regular intervals and once they are finalised, if this application is able to proceed further, he will be in touch with you. I know many cases where such external checks mark is just an argument for not doing anything. Some time cases are being finalised externaly but CO doesn't pay attention to it etc. So, if someone have experience in investigating this situation, please share it with me. PS. I just wonder, what else should I come throug? I see 1,5 years is not enough to have all checks done. Interesting working standards: for someone it's done for 6 month and for others years are not enough. fed up

    CPV - external check?!

Hi All, I've been reading CPV threads for last month or so, and now am getting to the point that I need some help and thoughts  applied for CPV 173, Oct 2006 parents have already done medical checks, and police clearance TWICE! (as the first one expired end of 2007!) CO was assigned Sept2007. May 2008 CO was changed to a new CO. Mum was in OZ and got police clearance from here too. and now CO is saying that is waiting for more checks. And I am wondering, what are these "more checks" to be done!? medicals and clearances from every where that Mom and Dad have been in for more than 365 days in last ten years is cleared now! and they have got police clearance twice now! and now we have to wait again. could it be because of the new CO wants to double check everything?! I am just getting so nervous now. I don't think that anybody here has been waiting more than us. (that's quite a record now, isn't it? more than 18 months and still counting...!) of course initially was OK since parents weren't in rush, but now it's testing our patience!!! any word of advice/thoughts/ideas? Cheers Pam.

    External Checks????

Hi guys We applied for our visa 9th July 2007 and still no  visa grrrrrr but have been advised that everything is going smoothly and they just need to do external checks - just wondered if there are other people out there who are British citizens but with a different birth country who have applied for thier visas and either have their visa following a long wait or are still waiting to hear? - think this factor may be holding it up for us. Also what on earth could they possibly be looking at now, know it's not our Dr's, employers, character referees, police records.... any other suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks Maria
