    Doubt has changed to excitement!

:chatterbox: In two weeks and 20 minutes we'll be taking to the skies from Heathrow on our way to Brisbane (via Hong Kong). We've got three nights in HK then on to Brisbane, with temp accommodation booked for the first 6 weeks. Today the doubt and sick feeling has changed to excitement and I can't hold it in! :arghh::arghh::arghh::jiggy:

    worries and excitement

Hello, we had our visa granted in july, OH is heavy Diesel mechanic and has dreamed of this for some time, hopefully we are coming to perth in march for a month to check out areas, houses, school etc until we can sell up our house and come out for good. I have a few worries as i havent told my parents yet, my mom is disabled and has been ill in hospital recently so i have been waiting for a good time to tell them (if there can be one), im an only child and know this will break her heart as she will never be able to fly out due to health probs to see us or the grandchildren, i feel so guilty about leaving but its either my marriage or my parents and i have to think of my kids futures too and think they will have a better lifestyle and opportunity in oz than uk Im also a little worried about being "alone" once the kids (2 and 4) are at school and OH is at work, not having a friend network to rely on for help, i know i will soon meet friends but im still worried to begin with. We have looked at the Rockingham areas around Waikiki, Port Kennedy, Baldivis etc, to me they look great, close to beach as here its 2 hour drive from the midlands lol Also is there a catch with new build and land packages as they seem to be cheaper than older houses??? any help would be really helpful. Sorry im wittering on just excited and worried all in one and would love some help please.. Joanne :chatterbox::hug:
  3. House has been on the market for the grand total of one week and we accepted an offer for it today! But theres no excitement or anything kicking in yet!?!? Is this normal? We fly out to Perth 12 weeks tomorrow. Really looking forward to getting out there, just thought we'd react better to selling the house? Are we just plain old WEIRD lol?? P.S. Anyone want a 57 plate Honda Civic Type R? Thats proving harder to sell than the house!
  4. Well our dream of moving to Oz is finally coming true. We are very much, the lucky ones as we only started looking into the possibilities of this adventure in Aug 08 and now we are just weeks away from starting our new life down under. For those that dont know, my husband was offered a three month secondment via his employer to perth in Oct of last year, i managed to get the time off from work and went with him. During our time in perth we completely fee in love with Oz, the lifestyle, the people, everything. Four week prior to our departure, Hubs was offered a full time post in Perth, staying with his current employer, just transferring to the Australia part of the business. But due to the economic climate etc its taken until two weeks ago for the paperwork / contract to come through. We have been lucky enough to be given a really good relocation package but we are on a very tight timescale. Hubs has work in the uk until the end of April and then we are Oz bound! Lulu (kitty cat) has just one more lot of blood tests before she can travel, the results of which will be here in two weeks time. An agent has been instructed to work on our behalf and to get our visas sorted urgently and a shipping company will be in touch with us next week with regards to packing etc. We have also had two agents visit our home in view to renting our property out. Adverts will go in the local paper and their shop this week. So its all go from now on, i expect the nest six weeks to be extremely stressful esp as we have some many other non oz related things happening i.e. im off work with a trapped nerv in my leg and im also due to have my wisdom teeth out in three weeks time. But despite all this, we are so excited, we cant prise ourselves away from PIO or rental sites, we cant wait to start our new life down under. So....i dont actually know what the purpose of this post was......maybe just share our excitement with those that will understand. Hugs and extreme thanks Emma x
  5. Well the VISA process seems to be picking up again. It's been quiet for a while and yesterday we got a series of pretty formal documents in the mail asking for meds and police clearance to be done by some time in May! And also... a name for a Case Officer. Now the reality kicks in. Now it gets scary. Will we make it out of Britain alive? Will we wind up in Queensland or South Australia. Who knows? Nobody knows. Anybody else in the same boat? :daydreaming:

    Tingling of excitement

Hi, since Christmas I seem to have a constant feeling of excitement .My husband and I looked into going for the last 2 years, however this seems to be the only thing I can now talk about and think about. I have read the good the bad and the ugly on here and it is still not putting a downer on me ,booking medicals tomorrow even though husband doesnt understand my sudden urgency. I dont know either maybe I just woke up one morning wth a certainty that he has been after for the last year that I could not offer before. Plan Bunbury 09 woohoo:notworthy:
  7. I been feeling sad all day. My hubby is going for the a job in the police force in south australia. Heard some not so good reports about them. Im sure it cant be all that bad. Please can anyone cheer me up tonight and give me some positve vibes?? please...
