    PTE Academic Exam- Technical Glitch

Hi everyone, I recently gave my PTE Academic Exam in Sydney. I Logged on PTE website after 5 days to check my score and it said Status- delivery Failed. The next day customer care contacted me saying - We are contacting you in regards to your PTE Academic Exam. We are unable to generate your score report due to a technical issue. To compensate for this glitch, we would like to offer you a new exam at no cost. Please reach out to our Customer Care team to schedule a new PTE appointment I contacted the customer care to ask what might have caused the glitch but they had no answer. Has anyone come across to a situation like this? I want to know what could be the cause for this issue? I doubt it has anything to do with the way I gave my exam. Thanks.

We'd REALLY appreciate some info from anyone who completed the practical in February or last October so we know what to expect? Thanks very much, Morris'

  4. Hi forum mates, I am in the position of booking my health exam. I am in Singapore. The panel doctor said I need HAP IDs for every visa applicant. I learned from DIAC website that HAP IDs are 6 digit numbers and are on a Health Examinations List. I've been chasing my CO about the HAP IDs for a week but what I got is Health Request ID. Looks like my CO doesn't have any idea what HAP IDs are. If you've booked/done your health exam, I'd like to know, do you need HAP IDs to book your health exam.

  6. Hi everyone Is there anyone out there who has recently successfully completed their electrical practical vetassess exam. I have mine at Blackburn College in two weeks time. I've been reading up and trying to revise but it's difficult to know exactly what they are looking for especially around DOL starters. Also, I haven't been informed by Vetassess that I need to take my own tools but I've read on some of the threads that you do need them with you. Any help or advice would be really appreciated. Many thanks. Greg :arghh:

  9. A Biometric Services Platform and user interface application will be used to verify the identify of those taking the Cambridge Advanced English Exam in an attempt to eliminate exam fraud. The biometric verification solution based on the COTS Biometric Services Platform and user interface development services are supplied by Aware, a global provider of biometrics and medical imaging software. The advanced solution will form the basis of Identica, which is part of Cambridge Assessment's exam fraud prevention services. Thanks to the Identica system, proctors can now easily capture ISO-compliant facial images of candidates upon their arrival at the test centre. Organisations can then use these images when they want to verify whether a specific candidate presenting a certificate is really the candidate who took the test. An upgraded system can also support further biometric modalities including fingerprints. Identica will be used for the first time by University of Cambridge ESOL Examinations for its Cambridge English Advanced test, one of the English language tests that are accepted by the Australian Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) for student visa applications. "We launched Identica to enhance the security of our exams, which are widely used for immigration and citizenship, higher education and business, and need the highest levels of integrity," Sarah Corcoran, Director at Cambridge Assessment stated. Cambridge ESOL test centers all over the world have started to use the service and it is expected to be used in over 130 countries by the end of 2011.

    Medical - oral exam

Ok, unusual question! In your medical did the panel doctor examine your mouth/teeth? We have our medicals in 2 weeks and are in fine health. However, a lump appeared on my lip in the last week (great timing:mad:) which my dentist says is a simple blocked duct that they will whip off no problems in a v minor op with local anaesthetic. However, am concerned about the panel doctor seeing this lump and getting suspicious about what it could be and referring the meds or making me see a specialist. I am trying to get a letter from my dentist confirming her diagnosis that it's nothing in the mean time, but I was keen to know whether people think this would be enough or whether I'm worrying about nothing if they don't even look in your mouth! Thanks!

  15. Hi all, we are currently applying for a 175 Visa, we cannot do so until i have taken an IELTS exam in June and had a successful confirmation back from the AITSL. I am taking the IELTS exam in Aston Birmingham in June and was wondering if anyone has any advise? and.... cheekily asking what scores people have achieved? Thanks Carlie, Dan and Helena
  16. I have my exam in a few weeks, and like most things to do with the visa application it's causing a bit of panic! So, I thought I'd ask a few questions on here. I got my 'practice materials' yesterday, and my book is due to arrive in a few days. Writing: - How crucial is it to stick to the 'number of words'? Do you lose points for going over and/or under? Do you really have to sit and count all the words? Speaking: - What happens if you have no idea how to answer a question? For example, I've seen a question regarding an inspirational teacher, and honestly I never had one. I know they are looking for how you speak, rather then how truthful the answer is, but I'm worried I'll be spending so much time 'imagining' an answer, I'll forget to concentrate on my vocab / grammar - Does the examiner tell you when the 1/2 minutes is up, or are you supposed to keep track? Again do you get penalised for talking too much or not enough? Listening: - Am I right in thinking that you get the questions while listening to the passage - so I can sort of answer as I go along? Or do I have to listen and memorise the passage, and then get to see the questions? General: - Why the hell am I worrying so much? I've been speaking English for 34 years now, you'd think I'd be used to it by now wouldn't you! :arghh:

  23. Hi there Just a quick question and to confirm...when one is requested by the CO to do the medical tests, one would: 1. Print forms Form 160EH - Radiologist report on chest x-ray 2. Print forms 26EH - Medical Examination for an Australian visa 3. Do the appointments with the medical examiner and radiologist 4. Do the examination/x-rays and the medical examiner posts everything to Sydney QUESTION: Do you have/need to upload anything in the online application document check list??? Thanks!!! B1k3R

    Question on Medical Exam

Hi I was wondering if anyone can help. I have a couple of questions about meds for a 176 visa. On the Electronic Application Status the document checklist shows all criteria met for everything accept my medical exam and radiologist report. I had my medical on 4/12/2009. The meds were sent by the panel doctor from Dublin to Australia on 20/12/2009. Even taking into account the christmas postal service does this seem to be a long time or do they normally take this long before they show as received? My other question is: Does the doctor that carried out my medical have the final say on my suitability for a visa or is the form that he fills out looked at by another doctor in the Australian office? The reason I ask is that I am in reasonably good health, but my blood pressure was a little high. The doctor said at the time it was something that I should keep an eye on but nothing to worry about. I was just wondering if anything could happen to throw a spanner in the works at this late stage. Thanks!!

    English Exam

Hi Everybody:biggrin: We're looking to re-locate but need 5 more points. Hubby will need to take the English test and get 25 points. Can he take this first so we can decide if we need to go independent skilled or regional? Are there any past papers to look at or guidelines? All suggestions will be gladly received. Caz123
