  1. Hi, We recently moved to Australia, from Europe. We have found a nice house in North Epping. I would like to enroll our son (14 years old) in a decent co-ed public high school. I would like to ask if anyone knows which high school nearby is the best/decent (public, co-ed)? I found Carlingford high, Cumberland (Pennat hills) and Ryde Secondary college (Ryde) as an option and can not decide between them. Can anyone help with advice which is the best (decent, quality, nice teachers, schoolmates...) Thanks, Cathy

    Epping & Thereabouts ?

Mrs PR is back from a visit over to Melbourne to check out work and all things are pointing to Epping...Apparantly it seemed alright around there although it wasn't top of our list (just hadn't come up) & I've read a few good and bad things about different parts. Question is....Is anyone living there, what's it like ?
  3. Hi All, I'm moving to Sydney in a couple of months to a job in Epping but have no idea where to live. I'd love to be as close to the beach as possible and having searched the forums and spoken to friends Coogee or Manly would be ideal. Realistically are these too far to commute to Epping from? I will have a car but have no problem using Public Transport if it's quicker. Ideally I'd cycle but it looks too far to do every day. I'd probably be happy to spend an hr commuting each way if it allowed me to live by the beach...... I'm in my mid-twenties and moving on my own so am looking for somewhere fun and vibrant where I can meet other people. Any advice much appreciated, Cheers J

Help! We are moving to Melbourne soon and my job is in Epping, Whittlesea. We do not want to live in Whittlesea but are considering Banyale, Manningham, Nillumbik and Boroondara. NOW MY QUESTION IS! Does anyone know of a decent safe suburb (we have two kids, 3 years and 6 months) a maximum of a 45 minute drive to Epping? Thanks as always for you help Rob:biggrin:

    Epping versus Frankston???

I have been offered jobs in both the above areas of Victoria and am weighing up the both of them for my family. There is me, my hubby, 19yr old, 17yr old, 13 year old and a 10 year. All children are not big beach lovers so wont be spending every day on the beach and the girls love shopping. Colleges and universities are important for the elder ones and work in the car/truck industry are important for my hubby. The elder ones also like the idea of being close to the city of Melbourne. Any advice would be welcome as i need to decide this weekend .:jiggy:

  10. Hi there We've moved to Sydney about 7 months (26 and 34 but then age doesn't matter !) and stayed in Neutral Bay for the first 5 months. However, we figured we can never buy a nice big place there so we had to look elsewhere. We chose Epping in the end. Anyway, I have met alot of nice people through work and out of work but alot of them are traveller / backpacker living in the city. I would like to explore around my neighbourhood and community. I'm wondering if there are anyone living around in the above area, if so, it would be great if we can have some kind of group gathering (say BBQ, a day in the park with wine / foods....etc). Please let me know and I will build a list up and let me know if you want to help on this great ambition of mine. Cheers!
