Stack Emissions Testing Vacancies (457 Sponsored)
sharkbaitadam posted a topic in Careers and Vacancies
Hi, Quite a long shot here but we are currently looking for two experienced Stack Emissions Testers to operate out of a regional office on the Queensland Central Coast. Ideally you'll be MCERTS Level 1 or Level 2 certified but if you don't have certification we will consider anyone with limited stack testing experience - obviously you must be fit enough and able to work at heights during the summer heat! The job will most likely be offered on a permanent basis and work will predominantly be local to the regional office. In times of need, you may be required to work away from home in other Queensland locations or interstate. We can offer 457 Sponsorship and assist with relocation; salary is negotiable but will be competitive. I'm the Quality manager for our company and I'll be managing initial applications so if your remotely interested, fire some questions to me and I'll get back to you. A bit about myself, I emigrated from the UK in February 2012 after too many years climbing stacks! I live on the Gold Coast with my girlfriend and I must say, it's been a wonderful first year! We're both looking forward to staying here a long time! Anyway, if you feel you are up for some hot and sweaty stack testing, let me know! Cheers Adam -

Hello, My OH is an environmental health officer working for a local authority here in the uk. She has worked as an EHO in housing and for the last few years in the environmental protection team, noise, light, pollution, F&V etc. Does anyone out there have experience of transferring to a local authority or company in oz as an EHO ?, Would her qualifications (degree etc.) be recognised in oz and what cross over training would she need to do either in oz or here in the uk ? Would she be better to update her food EHO to give more scope when looking for a job? Any thoughts, views or experience of the EHO world in oz would be really good, thanks very much:spinny:

I have an Environmental Science BSc and MSc and 8 years experience as an Environmental Engineer (SOL code 233915). However, this stopped 6 years ago so is outside of the 5 year rule. I am also a Chartered Environmentalist not sure if this helps? I am currently Head of Health and Safety so could apply under SOL code 251312 as an Occupational Health and Safety Adviser. However, I hold no formal Health and Safety qualifications but have 15 years experience which is continous and current etc. Can anyone advise me re the best route as I feel I am in a catch 22 situation? Many Thanks

Hi, This is my first post as only just found out about the site, but I can see its going to be really helpful over the coming months...... I'm planning on move to Aus, Northern NSW (Coffs Harbour), at the end of the year with my Aussie husband. Been working as a LA EHO for four years and hoping to secure a job in EH, preferably food specialism, in time for my arrival. Will also consider contract work such as auditing food safety systems to ISO standards (I'm working towards accreditation with IRCA) or training in food safety. I've already been in touch with the local council when I was last over in Aus, so was wondering does anyone have any hints or tips for organisations I should be contacting to look for private industry/contract work in that area.

Hi, I'm new to the forum so apologies if I have posted this in the wrong section. I was hoping that someone who has been through the Vetassess skills assessment process could give me some guidance relating to work experience. I want to apply under the Environmental Manager category however my work experience over the past couple of years has been at a consultant/Adviser level? Does anyone know whether this would be an issue at all? I carry out pretty much the same duties as an Env Manager and have an environmental degree and professional memberships in this area.. I just don't want to waste the assessment fee if they are really strict!! Many thanks in advance! Sarah x

2129-79 nec engineers (environmental) can be on Schedule 3 Group 3 processing
Guest posted a topic in Visa Chat
Read somewhere in the forums of some 2129-79 environmental engineers who have lodged, but are languishing in Group 4. Contact your skills assessment officer, or e-mail msa@engineersaustralia.org.au with your client ID. Ask if they are able to provide an explanatory letter to request Immi to move your application to Group 3 SOL. They will provide this service for free. Note to Computer Systems Engineers 2129-79 (i.e., me) and other non-SOL Sched 3 engineers... no such luck for you (and me) if you aren't SOL qualified... we're still sitting pretty on Group 4.-

hello, I am confused with my EA assessment outcome. This April I was assessed as Environmental Engineer, the code is 2129-79 according to ANSO. However, ANZSCO came into effect since July 1, 2129-79 corresponding to 233999 is not included in SOL Schedule 3 but Environmental Engineer as a new seperate occupation 233915 is on the SOL.So what should I do to get my application in Priority Group 3? thanks in advance.

Hi! Im new to this site, any help will be appreciated!! Regarding the recent change of MODL, i started to check out the new General skilled policy. I got my Environmental Engineering degree in 2007 in Melbourne. I like to confirm if the ASCO code in SOL - 2129- 79 (Engineer - Building and Engineering Professionals) apply to my bachelor degree? I am working as an assistant engineer and under the on job scheme training (Civil Discipline) accredited by Hong Kong Institution of Engineers. Can i apply my General Skilled Migration (GSM) as a Civil Engineer instead of Environmental Engineer? And if i want to log my GSM application as a Civil Engineer, do i need another accreditation from other organization? Should i get the government sponsored type visa instead of 175 independent GSM? Since my bachelor worth 60 in SOL, 15 from IELTS, 30 from age, and 5 (or 10?) from studying in AUS, my total should be 110 (correct me if im wrong ). Thanks again in advance for your help!!

long shot I know but is anyone in this field of work or know of anyone? Been looking for a job for ages (well almost a month) but the market is flatter than a squashed pancake, I have a few interviews to hear back from but thought I would see if anyone on here had any names I could send my CV to or anything like that.... Cheers!
