SophieTheSoph posted a topic in Money & FinanceHi PIOers I've been self employed since April 6th 2011, and am moving to Aus in a couple of weeks time. I have completed and been paid for all my self emp work for this year, and wanted to settle up with the tax office before I go but I just rung them and the girl I spoke to said I had to wait until next tax year before I could file this years return. Does anyone know if this is correct? Or if there is a special form I can complete so I can wrap up my accounts here? Thanks StS
Hello everyone, My husband and I have very nearly made the decision to move to Perth, WA. We have consulted and agent (GoMatilda) who we like very much and would employ the services of to help us get out 175 SS Visa. However, our best friend is in Perth and works in Recruitment over there. He has sent my husbands CV to two Head IT Recruiters to get there opinion on work options he will have. It has come back very positive and there are a number of options and large companies that would be good places to work. He is also saying that it would be much easier and less expensive for him to get employer sponsored? I do not know anything about this option and feel a bit lost now. What is the process? Do we have to contact all these companies asking if they will sponsor my husband? If he was successful, how quickly do companies need you to get over there? All our money is tied up in our house so that would need to be sold etc. and animals rehomed, loose ends to sort out (pensions, bills, banking etc) I would suppose my husband would have to go over without us and stay with friends whilst I sorted everything out. The companies mentioned were places like Health, Fujitsu, ASG, St John of God? If any of you can explain the process of the Employer Sponsored Visa to us a little more that would be great. We want to start the Visa process in the next week so need to have decided and have a total understanding of our options and what route to go down. I look forward to reading your responses and thank you in advance! Nicky x
Hiya, I am in a situation where my previous employer is ready to provide a reference letter but is not agreeing to describe about my roles and responsibilities. So I have decided to attach in one my colleague's reference along with the employers - My question here is do I need to attach the experience letter of my colleague that is providing the reference as well? Did any of guys/gals happen to be in such a situation? What did you do? Any suggestions are welcome? Thank you, Jhonnywalker...
Guest posted a topic in Visa ChatWe are in a whirl at the moment, we decided to move to Oz a couple of weeks ago, wasnt sure which way to go about applying for visas so sent off some CV's. We've already been contacted and this agency say if we take a holiday out there they will have arranged interviews and are 90% sure we will be offered not only employment but sponsored employment meaning the company will sort out our visas etc! This almost sound too good to be true im trying not to be excited. He recons we will be in a position to hand our notices when we get back. We have told him we will go out in Jan and are looking at primarily Brisbane area of QLD, and that we should put our house on market now in preparation as wil be able to go out within a month of being offered jobs and sponsorship. We have looked at possibility of renting in a few areas like south bank coorparoo, paddington, red hill as more centrally located areas and also looking at eastern / coastal areas. I do not drive so we need to move to an area i can easily commute by train to the CBD Any information would be appreciated greatly ! :0) Trying not to get too excited!
