  2. Hi everyone... My husband has just got a job offer in west Perth so will be out there early next year??? Ive been looking on real estate at area's as we would prefer to live near the beach?? Liked the look of Sorrento but quite pricey.....and then saw Duncraig which seemed reasonably priced and close enough to the beach?? All the locals think its a great area??? (from the website) Anyone live there?? Looking at schools and Kindergartens etc but ive found the websites for them are defo not as informative as other states such as Melbourne?? We want somewhere with a good amount of parks and a variety of restaraunts/cafe's shopping options....close enough... I be grateful of anyones feedback as we know nobody in perth....There all in Melbourne....or Adelaide.... Cheers Nichola
  3. Hello, My family and I migrated with my work to Melbourne 4 years ago, but we feel like a change and so will be moving to Perth at the end of the year. We have secured a rental in Woodvale (Northern coastal suburbs), but think would like to eventually buy in Duncraig or Marmion in a year or so. I have been looking at the MySchool website and the local school websites, but wondered if anyone has children at any of the Catholic schools in the area. My children attend a Catholic school in Melbourne and we are pleased with the level of education, so would like to continue with that kind of schooling. I have emailed a couple of schools, but they don't seem to answer. Does anyone know about the reputation of the following Catholic primary schools? St Lukes - Woodvale Liwara - Greenwood Whitfords Catholic- Hillarys Our Lady of Grace - North Beach St Lukes will be the closest, but as we will be moving when we buy, I would rather have a longer journey to drop them off to school initially and at least they (hopefully) won't need to change schools again. Thanks in advance for your help. Mairi
  4. Hi, Hope someone can help, we are looking at moving to the Duncraig area. Can anyone tell me anything about the Duncraig Education Support Centre? I have a high functioning 14 yo ASD child, very well behaved and easy to get on with, just looking at school options for him. Any information would be greatly appreciated, please feel free to PM me if preferred. Thanks Richard
  5. Hi everyone I have recently moved from the UK and have a six month old baby. I tried to join a playgroup but they are booked out until 2011.Then I rang the library to enroll my child for storytelling only to be told that it was fully booked till next year. We have done swimming and baby massage and joined the walking group but as my husband has our car for work I am limited to the Duncraig area for activities. If anyone knows of any activities for babies in the area I would be delighted to hear from you. Many thanks Ash

    Carine Duncraig Rental??

Hi, we arrived in Perth last week - currently in temp. apartment but looking for rental in Carine/Duncraig area to move into in August..... ideally a modern 4x2 but would look at a 3x2 and would also consider a sale in region of $600K. Not much luck with estate agents etc - usually the property is already gone or they just don't call back. Was prepared for the dog-eats-dog market but it's worse than that!! Advice appreciated, Lou.
  7. Hi, We are moving into the catchment area for Poynter Primary in Duncraig. Does anyone know anything about this school. Also any useful information about the senior schools in Duncraig would be useful. I've heard Duncraig Senior school does well and seemed to come out well in last weekends West Australian newspaper schools results. Does anyone know what these schools are like academically as well as sports/music/dance etc. cheers xx

    Duncraig / North Perth

Hi Folks, Was wondering in any other fellow PIOers live in or near Duncraig. Purely on website research we seem to prefer the north of perth to the south, in particular the suburb of Duncraig. So was I hoping someone might be able to tell more about it and what the schools are like. Many thanks Mandisfam
