  1. Hi guys, I applied for a 186 visa as a Marketing Specialist based in Sydney back on 23rd Feb 2019. Up until now I have not seen any change in the status of my application. With everything submitted I am wondering what is taking the department so long, particularly given that I am seeing others who applied for the same role type, also in Sydney, who applied after me, getting responses. Is anyone aware of that determines when your application is reviewed, can you contact the department to get a better understanding of the delay? Also given that I have already submitted all additional documents with my application, I notice that after 12 months they may no longer be valid - as this is the departments fault (due to them estimating a processing time of 8-10 months at the time of application) will they accept the documents or request a renewal?
  2. Hi all, I have submitted my 186 Direct entry application in Feb 2018 - and since I have been BVA, I have been transferred to BVC. now this application has been sitting there "received" for 14 months(no documents requested, no CO allocated), with no indication of when it might be processed. Does anyone else have an experience with BVC and the strict 'no travel" conditions? what if I need to travel urgently? Thanks!

    186 Labour Market Test

Hi All, New guy here, been a silent reader for years now. There are several different views on this but I need confirmation from you guys. 1) The labour market test requirement will not apply to the 186 ENS Visa under Direct Entry stream. I cannot seem to connect to the relation of the LMT to the 186 ENS DE Visa. I have read the immigration website, the Migration Act and Regulation (i tried, lol) and I cannot see the connection between the two. When the LMT is mentioned, it always relates to the 482 (formerly 457) Work Visa. However, the problem is, the first migration agent we contacted mentioned the LMT is a requirement of the 186 ENS DE Visa. 2) Can my wife be sponsored by her current employer if she occupies the position that is going to be nominated by her employer? We are currently on a 485 Temp Grad Visa. The occupation is being filled by a temporary resident. Thank you all!
  5. Hi everyone, Today i submitted 186 direct entry visa application form online with myself as main applicant and my family unit (spouse and daughter ) as dependent applicant. I made payment however i havenot received acknowodgement letter. Additionally i cannot see my name for document attachments page while i can see my spouse and daughter name with document uploading tab. Is it possible for main applicant not to have document uploading tab ? i am a bit worried. Do you have any experience with this? kind regards chilli

    POLICE CHECK EXPIRED

Hi, We applied for PR via the 186 Direct Entry route last December. My husband's employer nomination was approved the other day and, the next day, we were sent for our medicals (which we're doing on Tuesday). They didn't ask us to redo our UK police checks though and I'm wondering if they've forgotten and will ask at a later date (in which case should I redo them now, to save time, as they take around 4 weeks to come back?) or if they figure that, since we're now in Aus (on a 457) and haven't left the country since the police checks were done, there's no way we could have committed a crime in the UK since the checks were carried out....? Also, roughly how long after the medicals do people tend to get a decision made on their visa...? Thanks in advance :-)
  7. Greetings everybody. Finally I am about to apply for the 186 ENS visa in the direct entry stream. My employer has agreed to sponsor me. That is a good news. However, while going through the nitty gritties, I have been pointed out a clause in the Booklet 5, which says that the experience needs to be "3 years post qualification work experince". I have few queries for all the knowledgable people on this site. How is the clause of post-qualification interpreted in reference to work experience? My occupation (ICT customer support) requires a Diploma according to ANZSCO code definition on ABS. I completed a degree (however in unrelated field) in 2000. I have been working on and off as IT support officer/executive since 2001 and hence got the necessary 3 years experience. Will my degree be acknowledged as fulfilling the requirement of the qualification, which is higher than a Diploma? As for the requirement of TRA, I completed a Diploma in IT in the year 2010 and subsequently did a JRP for a year and got my skill assessment completed successfully from TRA. I have also undergone training with different employers to qualify myself as suitable to perform the tasks at each of the employments. What is the definition of number of hours for a full time work in relation to 186 Direct entry stream? For the "Temporary Residence Transition" stream it is defined as 35 hours. However for the "Direct Entry Stream" there doesnt seem to be any mention of the hours in the Booklet 5. While part of my experience has been overseas, some (2 years) of my relevant experience has been in Australia where one of my employment was 35 Hrs/week. I hope this is not a concern. Anybody who can throw light on these points will make my day. cheers
  8. DIAC The following link : Employer Nomination Scheme (subclass 186) Says that for the Direct Entry stream If you apply for the Direct entry stream, you must: provide a positive skills assessment in your nominated occupation provide evidence of at least three years of relevant work experience have competent English. For #2 above : Are original letters from my overseas employer / payslip / contract letters sufficient? For the 186-Direct Entry will DIAC consider 3 years work-ex even if it wasnt submitted to VETASSESS (it is relevant to my nominated occupation) Previously I used this work experience with DIAC to approve my 457 which I assume they have on file. No assessment was required for the 457. Now the next question : VETASSESS I understand what the skill assessment requirements are from VETASSESS. at least one year of employment completed at an appropriate level over the last five years in a highly relevant field to the nominated occupation is required for all nominated occupation. To speed up the process I've thought of only submitting my 18 months Australian work-ex (Marketing consultant and I just completed a Master of Marketing prior to that @ Uni Syd). So the educational qualification and work extremely tightly related. I also have a reasonably high salary bracket and I am employed by a very reputed firm that operates in my specific industry and I've also consistently been a top performer (certificates/awards to prove this). So what I specifically need to know is if DIAC will only consider the same work-ex submitted to VETASSESS or the 2 can be independant!

ENS Stream - which one am I?

I have been nominated by my company for ENS. I have a positive skills assessment and have worked for them for 22 months and so was eligible for the visa based on past experience. Now that the visa has changed to skillselect, I am confused as to which one I am. The two I am confused between are the following: The Temporary Residence Transition stream is for subclass 457 visa holders who have worked for two years and their employer wants to offer them a permanent position. The Direct Entry stream is for people who have never, or only briefly, worked in the Australian labour market. So I don't think I am temporary residence as I haven't worked for them for two years. But I'm not sure if I can go for direct entry, as I have worked here in Australia for nearly two years. I'd prefer not to wait until the 2 years is up as my nomination will only last for 6 months so if there any delays it will run out. Can anyone shed any light on this please?
