  1. Hi Just out of interest does anyone have any views on this? My daughter has hayfever in the UK from April - August and suffers quite bad. Obviously the months will change in Oz , but does anyone have any experience as to whether the pollens are different etc?? Just curious ! Thanks

life stories of an average 8 year old!

morning/evening all, myself n family r relocating to melbourne(cranbourne)January time. I'm hoping to have found a local school for my children maizy 8 and rocky 6 by the time the new year starts,I've also got a 2 year old moe.So my hands r full! I'd be interested in hearing from any people who have been in a similar situation. My main concerns are school life,Australian childrens attitudes, childrens activities outside school general parent concerns really. My children are very social and are excited by the move so I'm sure I'm worrying over nothing, just trying to get some feed back for the big move. Thanx for any help Maxime
  3. Hi, I'm considering moving in a year or so but am a wee bit concerned about job opps. My wife is mental health nurse with 13 years in so no challenges with her finding gainful employment. I'm a senior IT manager in the network department of a global bank but I'm not delusional and realise that I need to trade the grade for the beach. There are plenty threads on how hard it is to get perm work so I was wondering what the gig was with Contracting. Any similarities with the UK/major differences/challenges with landing roles? any info appreciated - recruiters generally only tell you what you want to hear, and then only when they think they can place you......(apologies to any recruiters not from this mould) cheers
  4. I am a high risk country, non csl 176 visa applicant. My nominated occupation is Financial Investment Adviser and I've been affected by the SEP09 changes. A friend of mine has a business in Australia where I could work, but which has nothing to do with my nominated occupation. I wouldn't mine working as a kind of Office manager as long as it helps to speed visa granting. Would DIAC demand that there is a relationship between the Oz business activities and the nominated occupation? Or could the business say for example that they need me given that they need someone they trust and that I fulfill certain conditions that no other employee could fulfill? Thank you very very much for your help.
