Hi there, I'm soon moving to Canberra after Christmas and new year ( spending new year in Sydney ) and was wondering if roller derby is popular in Canberra and if there are many teams, I've not had skates on since i was about 5 but I do like contact sports ( I play football as a bad ass centre half ). I'm really just looking for more info on Canberra roller derby and if any one is in a team Cheers Leeanne

Roller derby recruiting across Perth - Great way to make friends
Guest posted a topic in Western Australia
Hi!, I’m from WA Roller Derby. We are WA's biggest ladies roller derby league with teams in Bunbury, O'Connor, Joondalup and Queens Park… with more teams on the way! If you're keen to get out, get fit, have fun and make friends then come check it out! Prior experience is not necessary. Some venues offer gear hire and some don’t so get in touch and we can let you know how to get started. We are also looking for guys who would be interested in becoming ref’s. If your feeling too shy to jump straight in we will be at The Castle, Northbridge, Perth on the 15th January for the Varietease - Dirty Pretty Things night where there will also be live bands and burlesque performances. Later that night we will be at the midnight showing of Whip It (a movie all about our lovely sport) at Movies by Burswood. We’ll be doing promo in our Derby gear so feel free to find a derby girl and say hello/ask questions Myself I'm originally from Scotland and wish I'd found this as soon as I arrived. It's such a laugh and a great way to meet new people and feel part of Perth. Hope to see you soon x -

Hi, new to forum joined today. Moving out to Perth this year with our kids (5, 8 and 17). Looking for any suggestions for great places to live (sorry if this is suppose to be covered somewhere else). Somewhere preferably close to the beach, good community feel and good sporting opportunities and good schools. Kids currently do swimming, tennis, football, golf and gymnastics. Really excited and can't wait to emigrate
