I'm wondering if someone can offer me advice on a query I've not seen yet on the forum. I'm currently looking into returning to Australia full time (I lived there for 2yrs some years back) and until recently I was looking at the 457 visa option. I am an Environment Enforcement Officer and have been for the last 4 years and have noticed that on the annual updated SOL list, Environmental Health Officer has now been added. My job is very similar to that of an EHO, but obviously there are differences. Would anyone know if it is possible that the DIAC would accept an application under these circumstances where your current job title is not exactly as it is stated on the SOL? Many thanks in advance. Linda
Linday posted a topic in Visa ChatI am posting this for a friend who is looking at moving to Australia via the 457 route. I have looked at this on the DIAC website but can't see which occupations list you need to be on to be able to apply. Does anyone know which schedule this is please?
Hello we're new and clueless! We're looking to get a visa sponsored by my brother in law, to emigrate to Queensland (outside Brisbane). In May 2008 I applied for a skills assessment with VetAssess, for the post of Health Information Manager, which I can't find anymore on the SOL for this visa. I passed that skills assessment after having to provide very little evidence of my job - but dawdled about applying . Foolish me. I've now looked at the list and there are 2 roles that I think I might be eligible for, medical administrator and welfare centre manager. My question is how strict are they about the exact nature of the roles. Also, if I get my VetAssess assessment back positive, is that it for skills and experience assessment or will I be assessed again as part of the actual Visa application? Thanks
