Hi, this is my first post on here although i have been raking through the threads on and off for about 3 days trying to weigh up the pros and cons of different Visa options and i cant quite Decide/fathom it out, below i will explain my situation and would be greatfull for some advice or if anyone knows of a suitable thread already discussing this that i cannot see, thanks, Well Im b Born and bred british 26 years old, Male. Im Single and im a first Class Metal Machinist to trade (on the SOL Schedule 1) and have been for just over 10 years. I have no dependent children. Also my father lives out in Oz and last year became a citizen and so will sponsor me if need be, not sure if it makes any difference but i have already been in Oz for the one year working holiday visa 4 years ago. Im now left with the choices of 175, 176, and 475, my ability to gain points seems okay due to my age and skills but im just not sure which visa will be best/fastest/easiest to at least start the ball rolling on, as far as i can make out i have the choice of all 3, Any input/advice would be greatly appreciated Regards, Lydon
So. With all the changes and new regulations. Is it still possible to use a Decission Ready Checklist application. Our 176 was lodged ti DIAC Nov 10 a decission ready via our Migration Agent. Now in the next week or so us SA applicants will start getting Case Officers, in date order i believe. A while ago DRC applications were rumered to be receiving Case Officers within 10 days of their application being lodged. I have tried to ask my MA, but i suspect he is still on his hols as not heard back, i sent the email Sunday evening. Unless he has done a runner now we have paid.
hello everyone i have some good news, we have a case officer yay But we will not be continuing with the application, as we have too much to loose here now the economy is too low. For those of you who know us will know how hard this desision has been for us, we have a fantastic life here and both have very good jobs i am a nursery nurse in my local special care baby unit and in Oz i wouldnt be able to work in a scbu as they only have registered nurses. I thought this wouldnt bother me but i earn a lot of money doing the job i love, how can i give that up. Rickie is an engineer for the London underground and thinks it will be really hard for him to get a job in Oz as we all know there is many people out of work there as much as here. House prices are at an alltime low and there has been houses up for sale here at Canvey for years no one is buying. We still have a big mortgage here and no spare cash in the bank so we prob would only have 50k to take with us wich in our eyes wouldnt be enough to be comfortable as we didnt want to have a huge mortgage again like we did when we got our first house. who knows how long it would take for both of us to get jobs so that 50k wouldnt last long. Kids well they are both doing well and very happy at school, they have no idea we have made this decision as yet, they are both 11 and 8 now and when we started this prosess they were 8 and 5 so what a difference he loves secondary school i wouldnt have the heart to pull him out. So all in all would we have a better life in Oz no it would be just different, so we are all staying here and maybe one day we will have a holiday out there. Good luck to all my PIO friends i will still come on here from time to time to see how you are all getting on be thinking of ypu all. I sopose it will seem more offictial tomorrow when Rickie emails our agent. Mwah love to all.
