    CSA???

Anyone know what the score is with informing the CSA your emigrating??? I currently pay to my X wife straight from my wages here in the UK. My wages will enevitably stop prior to my move, but i dont want to stop payment obviously. Will the CSA try to assess me on my earnings in Aus???? Or will they have to re-assess me on my earnings here in the UK??? (will have forces pension). Thanks guys/girls.
  2. We are due to emigrate to Oz in a few months time. I currently pay child support for 2 of my children to my ex partner via UK CSA. We have input our details on the Au CSA website and found that the payments would be triple what I am currently paying for earning slightly less out in Oz. This doesn't make sense !!! Have any of you been through a similar problem/issue and what was the outcome ? Do you continue to pay through the uk based on their rules and calculations or go to the Oz calculation method once you are working out there ? Based on the Au method we would be unable to cover our living costs !! Hence we are extremely worried Any help , advice, guidance would be greatly appreciated !!
  3. I'm currently in the UK, for a few more weeks. I currently pay maintenance for children who live with their mum through the CSA. The CSA have said that the case will close when I move out of the UK and that REMO will take over. From what I can gather, this is the enforcing of a Court Order (which we don't have). The woman in the CSA call centre didn't have the answers to the questions that I asked unfortunately. There is no contact at all between us, so paying directly isn't an option. There isn't time allowing me to go to court for an order as I move in a matter of weeks , and it isn't something that either of us want I imagine or it would have happened years ago. Does anyone have any experience or know what my options are for paying for the children involved?? Any help is gratefully received.

    child support

Hi can someone shed some light on how the UK child support find you in Australia. Is it through your national insurance number. I pay out of my wage in the UK. They have been screwing me for years. The child is over eighteen, the mother does not allow me access eventhough i have been to court, and been granted access order in the past. I have not seen the child for 14 years. The child is no longer in my name, they changed it to her new husbands name without my consent. Here in the UK they make my life hell any overtime i work they take. Leaving me with hardly any money to live on. If i move to Australia and do not inform the CSA. How will they find me and how easy is it for them to find me.
  5. Hi all, Before you read this i would ask you not to make the typical judgements that i have seen on other forums before that all men who pay child maintenance but arnt happy about it are b***tards. im going to keep details of myself to a minimum so i can remain as anonymous as possible and thanks in advance for any advice. I am planning to move to Australia in the near future to begin a new life there and i cant wait!! the only thing which i have a big question mark about and i've found it difficult to find information about is maintenance payments and where i legally stand. to cut a long story short, my ex used getting pregnant as a way for me not to dump her after the "suicide attempts" stopped working. since then the child is used as bribery tool. after many "discussions" she decided to keep it fully knowing i didnt want anything to do with her or the child, she though that the decision was entirely her choice and up untill i told her even afterwards i wanted her out of my life she was booked into get an abortion...i am having to pay maintenance now because the CSA dont care what the circumstances are surrounding how the child came to be, i know it takes 2 to make it happen but it should also take 2 to make an adult decision weather it is right to bring a child into the world and in my opinion, she knew what the implications were before she decided to keep it and she knew she would be doing it as a single mum (this is the point i ask not to make a judgement, if it was a loving relationship i wouldnt have walked away...it has turned out i have been granted a restraining order to stop her contacting me so thats the extent of the problems i have had). Anyway, the English system is that i have to pay which i have been doing. what i want to know is what happens when i move to Aus? i've read mixed things where the UK CSA have no jurisdiction but others who say she can still get money out of me? Sorry for rambling on but any advice is much appreciated. Thanks.

Any UK people had dealings with Oz CSA?

Hi Just wondering if anyone has had any dealings with the OZ csa? Just wondering if you leave the UK without telling the CSA what actually happens? I know about the recriprical agreement but I also have been told it is unlikely to work! No judgements here please, my hubby wants to contribute for his kids but he has continually been messed around by his ex, for 2 years we had his daughter full time and if we were luckly we got £5 a week as she lied about her income and the CSA weren't interested because he was the man! The situation is that he has a son who is just 18 and due to doing badly at school will be a year behind so we will have to pay until the september after he is 19, he is only at college because she makes him to get the maint, but he has a job and earns about £250-300 a week and pays her £50 a week. So hardly fair! Just want to know if anyone knows if we go, will the CSA do anything about it and if they do will we pay under OZ CSA rules or UK? Like I said no judgements please, we just want a break as we have been continually ripped of by this women who is financially well off just wants as much as she can off us! Thanks

    Csa

It's a touchy subject for most parents but I am really struggling to find any info and hope someone here can help. My husband has 2 chidren with an ex and we have been paying through CSA for last 8 yrs. When we, finally, get to Oz, which could be years yet, can the CSA find us and force us to continue to pay? Thanks x
  10. Does anyone know? I am a single mum of 2 fabulous children, Becci (14) and James (12) due to emigrate over the New Year. We have been planning the migration for almost 2 years and the first thing I did when I thought about migrating was to go and speak to my ex-husband (the children's father). After-all, if he wasn't happy with me taking the children I wouldn't have started the process! He agreed that it would be a great opportunity for all of us and supported my decision. We have been seperated for 8 years and he has since remarried and has 2 more children (5 & 3yrs). The divorce wasn't particularly pleasant and he stopped paying voluntary maintenance and forced me to go through the CSA. Since then I have received regular payments and there has never been a problem. The problem seems to be cropping up now though - he is saying that, as he won't be able to see the children regularly (although I have promised to bring them back to the UK for 6 weeks every year) that he won't be continuing paying maintenance for them. I have tried to explain that just because he's not 'seeing' them they will still be in regular contact via web cam, email etc and that just because we are on the other side of the world they don't stop being his children. The amount that he pays isn't a huge amount but it would help with school fees (the children are going to a Catholic school so fees are involved), uniforms etc. Does anyone know whether he can just 'stop' paying? I've emailed the CSA twice but just get the standard response 'we'll look into it and get back to you'.... then hear nothing! Help!! Zoe xx
  11. Hi All, I need some advice with regard to the CSA please. I seem to be going round in circles trying to find out the answer to my question. My ex currently reluctantly pays maintenance for my 13 yr old son through the CSA here in the UK. We have recently told him that we are emigrating. He has given his consent which was a miracle I thought I was going to have a battle with that one. Now my ex has just brought up the subject of maintenance payments, why should he pay when he won't ever see him (he rarely sees him now and we live locally to him). He says if we are "RICH" enough to move to Australia then we are "RICH" enough to bring him up! I can't quite believe his attitude, but I shouldn't really be surprised as he has tried everything over the past six years to get out of paying. Anyway, my question is, where do I stand? I know Australia have a Child Support Agency but does anybody know how effective it is? Has anybody been in my situation? How quickly does it all work (if at all)? Sorry for the long question. Thanks Julia & Kent

    Help required with CSA query

I would like to know if anyone could help me and my husband with a question that we have, as we are finding it difficult to get an answer. We are moving to Australia at the end of August next year and my husband has an 8 year old son from a previous relationship who will be staying behind with his natural mother. Dave is currently paying child maintenance through an organisation called CSA on a weekly basis. Our question is what do we do when we leave the UK as my husband wants to still pay for his son, but would rather give it straight to the mother so he knows his son will see all of it and not the government, the only problem is that the mother is on income support and all the other benefits as she is classed as disabled, would this affect her payments if she was getting money straight from my Dave into her bank acct as her payments are subsidised by the local council due to being a single mother etc. We really don't know where we stand legally or what we are to do in this circumstance.
