    Proof The 80's Was Crap

New Romantics, Power Ballads, Leg Warmers, and Saxaphone players appearing in every other music video. Just some of the many gazillion billion trillion reasons why the 80's was so dire. If you're a fan though. Live through some nostalgia with this 1985 argos catalogue which has been scanned and available to flick through on Flickr. I was still a pup then, so the toy section induced some memories I'd forgotten about. Everything else though, just seems so primitive. http://www.flickr.com/photos/38301877@N05/3593028702/in/photostream/

    English motorways are crap!

I’m sorry to all the I love England no matter what brigade but the English have no idea how to make a decent road. As a truck driver that uses a lot of the motorways across this country I’m sorry to say these roads are lacking, next time you travel on a motorway and take a look at the left hand land, they are a long track, better suited to a train….. Once in these grooves you can take your hands off the wheel and the truck will drive itself, all well and good until you need to change lanes, once again watch the trucks sway and it all has to do with those bloody grooves, and they can throw you into the other lane.

  7. By this i mean. How does the shipping thing work. Is it weight or space or both? We've not much to take by means of furniture but would like to take the usual photo's maybe sofa, washing machine, dryer, hoover, daughters new single bed, bedding, towels, dinner set, pots pans etc but other than dvd's we wont be bringing much else..... Has anyone got an idea of what it would cost us for this amount.
  8. Are you tired of those piss weak 'friendship' poems that always sound good, but never actually come close to reality? Well, here is a series of promises that actually speak of true friendship. You will see no cute little smiley faces on this card -- Just the stone cold truth of a great friendship.. 1. When you are sad -- I will help you get pickled and plot revenge against the bastard who made you sad. 2. When you are blue -- I will try to dislodge whatever is choking you. 3. When you smile -- I will know you are thinking of something that I would probably want to be involved in. 4. When you are scared -- I will rag you about it every chance I get until you're NOT. 5.... When you are worried -- I will tell you stories about how much worse it could be until you stop whining. 6... When you are confused -- I will try to use only little words. 7... When you are sick -- Stay the hell away from me until you are well again. I don't want whatever you have. 8. When you fall -- I will laugh at your clumsy backside, but I'll help you up. 9. This is my oath..... I pledge it to the end. 'Why?' you may ask; Because you are my friend. Friendship is like pissing your pants, everyone can see it, but only you can feel the true warmth.

HELLO GUYS SORRY FOR MY SINICAL POINT OF VIEW. THE THING IS I WORK FOR A DIABOLICAL EMPLOYER, AND HAVE BEEN GETTING MISTREATED AT WORK FOR THE LAST FEW MONTHS GENERALLY ALL DOWN TO ONE GUY IN PARTICULAR. I REALLY WORRIED WHAT WILLHAPPEN TO ME AND MY FAMILY IF THEY SACK ME AS THEY HAVE THREATENED THIS ON A COUPLE OF OCCASIONS. WELL IV HAD ENOUGH AND FOUND A NEW SPONSOR, WHO IS WILLING TO SPONSOR ME. THE QUESTION IS WHAT DO I DO NOW. DO I HAVE TO SUBMIT A NEW VISA APPLICATION. THE EMPLOYER HAS TOLD ME HE CAN SORT EVERYTHING OUT FOR ME IN 3-4 WEEKS AND I CAN START WORK STRAIGHT AWAY. IS THIS POSSSIBLE IT TOOK ME A FEW MONTHS TO SORT THE LAST VISA OUT? IS THERE SOMTHING NEW EMPLOYERS CAN DO TO FAST TRACK THIS OR SOMTHING OR AM I JUMPING FROM THE FRYINGPAN IN TO THE FIRE. PLEASE ANY ADVISE WILL BE TAKEN ON BOARD.

Christ, worked 23 years straight in Canada with never a layoff... come to Australia and lose 2 jobs in less than 6 months.... go figure. Oh well... off to job hunting again!!!..... I should become a pro at this soon LOL Karen

    Oh crap!!!

We have a guy from visa bureau ringing us tonight, we we're all excited about starting off the big plan and then the bomb dropped.... Our house is probably in negative equity  We were flooded in 2007 and have found that our house value has plummetted, it is probably gonna sell for about about £5000 less than the mortgage on it or just break even. We knew we didn't have any savings for emigrating and that we were going to have to save our arses off but we thought the sale of the house would at least give us a hand towards flights and shipping etc..... Does anyone know what you could do in a situation like this??? Just sell and get as much as you can and then pay the amount outstanding on a debt managment plan??? We have no prospects here - sparkies jobs are dying a death and we long for a new life in Aussie Some one send me a ray of hope pleeeeeeeeeeease :notworthy:

    What a crap morning..........

I woke up at 5.45 ready to do my car boot sale today and it was raining, so i turned over and thought oh well...... but after 5 minutes it stop, so I got up and got ready, got Emma up, put a couple of more things in Mr KP van and off we went.... Got to the site and there were quiet a few people all ready set up, but then it started to rain again, now me having a blonde (sorry blonde's) moment didn't just sit in the van, oh no that would have been me using my brain, no stupid me gets out and starts to unload the van, getting myself and Emma socking wet. Now Mr KP has a collection of hard back books on Vietnam, The SAS, World War 1 & 2, these books have moved house a few times and have always been kept in tact, well their not any more...... most of them are ruined where they have got wet, not that I got them out, but i didn't put the cover back properly and the rain got in. Most of the Playstation stuff is ruined also. After an hour or so, it hadn't stoped so we then decided to come home, and have a hot cup of tea. So why oh why, didn't I just turn over and stay in bed, at least that way I might have something to sell next time, now I not to sure if it's a trip to the tip instead. Totally, totally P'd Off..................:cry: KP Nuts

    Naming a crap removal frim

Ok, just about had enough. We used xxxxxxx from the UK to ship our belongings over. They then used yyyyyyyyyyy on this side to deliver our goods. Firstly we paid for the sole use of a 20ft container. Our stuff arrived in oz in a shared 40ft container. We found out on the day we were leaving for oz that yyyyyyyy was the firm who would be delivering our goods. When we paid the bill beforehand we were told a different company altogether would be delivering our goods at this end. When our goods did eventually turn up from yyyyyyyyy, the two delivery guys arrived and low and behold they had somebody elses inventory. How hard can it be to deliver a container to a customer without checking name and address agreeing with the inventory. After they unloaded all our belongings we had a flat screen tv scratched on the face, a broken bed, broken chest of drawers, numerous pieces of broken crockery (some old 'willow' china plates as well) and items missing including pans, toy boxes etc. 3 months have now gone by and we're still no further on. Have received only vague emails saying 'yeah, we'll chase it for you' but nothing substantial. We're now wondering whether it's time to get the ombudsman involved. We personally wouldn't recommend either of these companies. eddie:sad:

    oh crap

The London market plunged more than 2% for the second successive session as sky-high oil prices and fears for two US mortgage giants sent shockwaves through the City. Concerns over the future of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac - which manage half of the US's 10 trillion dollar mortgage market - helped the drag the FTSE 100 Index down 145.2 points to 5261.6 - a 2.7% dip. It is the Footsie's lowest close since October 2005, and followed a 2.2% fall for the index on Thursday amid worsening economic fears. Oil and mining stocks dominated the small clutch of firms keeping their head above water, with widespread falls across all other sectors as investors headed for the exits. The miserable session saw oil break through the 147 US dollar a barrel barrier thanks to the tensions with oil-rich Iran over its missile testing programme. Oil and gas explorer BG Group added 1p to 1137p as a result, with Royal Dutch Shell was 10p better at 1919p. Mining stocks also made progress as investors shifted their money into commodity safe havens, aided by helpful broker comments. Eurasian Natural Resources led the sector's advances and the Footsie risers' board, gaining 90p to 1137p, nearly 9%. But losses swept the already embattled retail sector, with news of a strong sales performance from department chain John Lewis failing to offer support. Rival Marks & Spencer was among the sector's worst blue-chip performers, dropping 13p to 227.25p. It was closely followed by B&Q owner Kingfisher, off 7.2p at 91.8p, and Next, down 43.5p at 852p. Other prominent fallers included Royal Bank of Scotland, which lost 17.2p to 182.7p after Zurich pulled out of the running to buy its insurance business, which includes brands such as Direct Line. RBS rivals Barclays and Lloyds TSB joined the slide on a poor day for financials, losing 16.75p to 267.75p and 17p to 275.5p respectively. The Footsie's four biggest risers were Eurasian Natural Resources up 90p to 1137p, Cairn Energy up 102p to 2844p, Carphone Warehouse up 6.45p to 203.25p and Tullow Oil, which ended the day 24.5p up at 866.5p. The four biggest fallers were Enterprise Inns down 28.5p to 302.5p, RBS down 17.2p to 182.7p, Standard Chartered down 114p to 1341p and Kingfisher which closed 7.2p to 91.8p.

    Oz Mastercard crap!

What is the point of Westpac issuing me with a Mastercard credit card when it cant be used to purchase anything from overseas. I thought the point of credit Mastercards was that they could be used internationally (like a UK visa card)?? Whenever I phone the UK to make a payment or try to buy anything online it is always rejected despite having $10K available. Another bl***y useless thing this country has given me! Rant over:skeptical:

    Crap Day......

My sister has just left to fly back to OZ...................and I wanted to get on the plane with her. Haven't been online much of late due to the fact that my sister was over. Our auntie died and we have spent the time emptying her house.........into my loft !!!! Our mum's house has now sold so we had made a start on emtying that too ....also into my loft !!! At this rate, I will need a ship to myself if this bl**dy visa ever makes an appearance !!! My sister has now been in Oz for over 4 years and has made the trip back to Bonnie Scotland twice now (unfortunately both times for funerals) and she has stated that the only thing she misses is the shops (ie Tesco) - she has left me with a nice shopping list of things that I have to include in my shipment..............here's me thinking that I would only take personal items like photos etc - no chance now. I am now into week 9 since medicals finalised - how nice it would have been to have heard something before my sister flew back !!! Anyway, back to the waiting game Gill
  20. It's probably just the phase of the moon but I'm sooooooooooooooooooooooo sick of crap customer service from 'phone networks and utilities! I just want to scream :arghh: And if that's not bad enough how about voice recognition systems that don't recognise native English speakers! If I respond with "yes" a grating voice says "I'm sorry, I didn't understand that, did you say YIS or NOW?" So I end up dancing to the fiddle and saying "YIS!" Anybody else tired of this????? :arghh:

    Crap telly!

We moved to Queensland 5 months ago, its beuatifull here etc, but the telly is abysmal. I know theres tons of stuff to do, but sometimes its good to unwind watching tv (kids too). My question is whether anyone knows how to get sky tv over here or is that not possible? I know about foxtel and Austar, but I wondered if (albeit with a large satelite dish) there is any chance of getting sky. Anyone......?
