Guest posted a topic in Visa ChatHi, I posted this originally on Poms In Adelaide and was advised I'd get more feedback here - hope that's the case! I'm due to start a new job in Flagstaff in May 2012 - had enough of working in the UK, desperate for a new start for my health and quality of life, and for my daughter. Trouble is, her bio father won't give permission for her to emigrate with me so I'm having to go down the route of applying to the courts to override this. Has anyone been through a similar process? If so, were you successful and how long did it all take? Please help! Thanks
Let us say A and B contract a marriage in Pakistan. Now they migrate to Australia as permanent residents and the matter of divorce comes up in an Australian court. Would the court abide by the original marital rules or would Australian rules apply. CAN the matter even be taken up in Australian courts? I know in commercial contracts it is regularly written that the rules of such and such jurisdiction (outside Australia) shall apply. In such a case an Australian court cannot even arbitrate. Would the same hold true for marriage contracted in Pakistan???
Hi All I'd like to ask if anyone has any info on how to get into the NSW Corrections service as a Probation Officer, Programme Facilitator or similar in the Sydney city area or at least an hour maximum from Chatswood area. I have years of experience as a programme facilitator when working for London Probation and also have 2 years experience as a Probation Officer, working for the New Zealand Probation service. I'd definitely like to get back into working in this field, so any links, ideas etc would be great. I'm already signed up to the usual online agencies such as Seek and NSW government sites, but ideally want something for when I arrive in a few weeks time. I'd be happy to work via an agency on contract if that helps me to get back into this profession. Regards
