  2. Hello everyone, Its been 4 weeks after s56 documents submitted to DHA, haven’t heard back anything yet. Just wondering how long does it takes to grant a visa after submitting s56? Applied on both visa & nomination on feb 2020. Please note that Nomination hasn’t been approved yet. 186 trt cook Qld. Any suggestion would be helpful. Thank you!

I’m waiting for the 186 visa & nomination since 16 months & DHA has asked my employer for the some updated documents from the business within 8 days. Is it okey if we asked for the extension? Does this impact to my visa & nomination applications? Please suggest me Thanks

    Hi Everyone, just wondering I’m waiting for the 186 trt visa almost 16 months, Is there any problem or delaying to grant a visa if you do have some credit cards to be pay off debt & not enough bank balance in your account?     186 TRT Stream

    Hi everyone, I’ve applied Nomination +186 trt visa as a cook (non regional) on 18th of a Feb 2020 & did medical on 24th of feb.I’ve been checking my immi account everyday, Still shows the Received in the application summary. I came in Australia on March 2017 under 457 visa. I do not have any Australian education on certificate 3&4. I do not even have certificate on RPL. Will there be any problem because of this? Help needed. Thank you

    The new training visa 407

    The 407 is a great way to experience Australia whilst gaining new or enhancing current occupational skills. The visa is for both paid and voluntary internships for up to 24 months (the government decide on the length based on the occupation, the applicants work or study history, skills and qualifications, age etc). The sponsor of the applicant is not the employer and is required put the applicant through a skills training program in conjunction with a host employer.   8. Hi guys It has been about 13 months since I lodged my visa as a cook. I’ve got requested for medical checkup 2 days ago, but my colleague who lodged visa before me has his nomination rejected 4 days ago. I thought my nomination will be rejected as well but I got requested for medical so I got really confused. Do you think my nomination is safe or not? When CO is assigned? Do you think the person who send me the “s56 request for more information” is my CO? When CO is assigned, can I tell my nomination is passed? I thought they only request further information when the nomination is cleared. My immiaccount says the status is still “recieved” . No “initial assessment” or “further assessment”. I’m really worried that my nomination will be rejected after paying $hundreds for medical check. Is it possible for my nomination to be clear when the other nomination is recently rejected at the same workplace? Give me some thoughts please! Cheers

    Chefs Wanted in Australia

    The McGowan government’s ­decision to tear up the list that fast-tracked overseas workers to Western Australia has made it tough for Margaret River’s wineries and restaurants to put meals on customers’ plates during their peak new year trade. There are simply too few local chefs and trained kitchen staff to cope, says Amelia Park Tavern’s resident chef Gary Wilkins, who moved to Margaret River eight years ago for the relaxed lifestyle. “We’re struggling to get help and there’s a limited number of good local chefs,” he says. It has taken the importation of seven temporary chefs, one flown in from Sydney, to keep operating Amelia Park’s kitchen. “It costs management a lot more money to get people in,” Wilkins said. The labour cost — more than double the normal rate of about $25-$30 an hour — can reach nearly $100 an hour in some cases, when labour-hire company fees are included. Shortly after taking office, Premier Mark McGowan made good on an election promise to slash occupations that could be filled by overseas workers. He said changed economic conditions required local jobs to be kept open for the more than 90,000 unemployed West Australians, but his government’s cuts to the eligible skills list — from 170 occupations to 18, none of them hospitality jobs — has left the sector shorthanded. The government also withdrew Perth as a destination from the Regional Sponsored ­Migration Scheme, which offers incentives to lure foreign visa holders to less populated areas. Opposition tourism spokeswoman Libby Mettam said Perth’s hospitality industry was having difficulties recruiting staff as a result. “This is the first Christmas season for the hospitality and service industry where the impact of this shortsighted and ill-advised move is being felt,” she said. The changes have hit just as a wave of new hotels, bars and restaurants is helping to diversify WA’s resource-dominated economy. And with direct flights due to start between Perth and London, and Asian tourism on the rise, good hospitality staff “is high on the list of needs”, she said. “From a tourism perspective, there is no second chance in making an excellent first impression.”

    Got 457 to 187 got pr in July 2017. Working from last 4 year in same company.got promoted from cook to sous chef but still same pay. Got more responsibility. I asked for pay rise but they said no but they said if you want to resign we will accept you resignation and will approve your resignation so I can leave or not. Thx

    TRA Video Request

    Hi! My first post on here - so forgive me if this is in the wrong forum. I'm in the process of a skills assessment for a pastry cook and recently received a request for video evidence. The thing is I have no such video and there is no way I can get it, as my employers would never allow a camera onto the bakery floor. My agent says it is highly unusual that they would ask for video evidence as that is one of the more obscure options. What I'm wondering is, has anyone else had a similar experience? How did it pan out? I'm just wondering if they're building up to a rejection? Thanks for reading! Cheers, Adrian

    Living in Point Cook

    Hi, We are considereing renting in Point Cook, I visited it in October and liked Point Cook senior school also thought that the shopping centre was lovely. However I have some questions that i wondered if a local could answer; How bad is the traffic into Melbourne during rush hour? Is it going to ages to get to work in Maribyrnong?Where is the nearest the train station? As it is a new suburb are there local clubs eg sports, social etc for teenagers (13 & 16)? Is sancturary Lakes difficult to access without a car? You certainly get a lot more house for your $ on the rental market but I need to be sure as I dont want to have to move the kids once they are in school.     Hi everyone, I wondered if anybody could help me..... I applied to vetasses as a cook and passed my technical assessment but they want me to take a first aid course. The course they have suggested is a 3 day course at a cost of £380! They require me to have a level 2 first aid certificate I wondered if anybody else has been in a similar situation and can suggest any other courses that aren't so expensive and aren't 3 days as It will be difficult to get time off of work. I am using a migration agent but the one I started with left, so I am using a different agent within the same company. When I first started the process I wasn't told that I needed a first aid certificate it was only during the technical interview it was brought up. I have suggested other courses but they say they don't meet their standards yet the course they are comparing to in Australia is a one day course and they haven't provided what the course entails so I can compare. If anyone has any suggestions or could help I would really appreciate it! Many thanks

    Hi guys, I am new on this site, but I find it very helpful. I hope you can help me. What we need to a successful cook assessment? My boyfriend learnt 5 years to be a cook and has 3 years part time apprenticeship during school. After we moved to the UK, he has been working from June as a cook and we plan here two years more.
