    Salary Comparisons

Ive heard some people saying that a direct exchange rate conversion is the wrong way to assess a salary (obviously you need to also consider cost of living differences either way) - whats peoples thoughts on this - see that many people say its far less than the converted amount in reality. Hope that makes sense!

  4. Don't know if anyone has done some research on this in the past, but what salaries would you say are comparable between the UK and say Melbourne/Sydney? i.e. say you earned £50k in the UK and took off taxes, NI etc what would you need to earn in Oz to have the same income after taxes/super etc? Have to take into account living expenses, private medical costs and the rest of it i guess... Cheers all
