However, if you are looking to raise a young family you may want to choose a home located in the streets around Cleveland’s kindergarten, primary and secondary schools. 2. Hello to all readers! I live in Ormiston, Bayside, Queensland and I wondered if anyone would fancy joining me to start up a book club in Cleveland? There is a coffee club (coffee shop) that opens reasonable late so maybe once every month we could meet up, have a coffee and cake and share our thoughts about a book that we all read. Maybe we could all take it in turn to decide on the book for the coming month? In the Bayside Bulletin there is also an offer of buy a coffee and get a coffee free most weeks so we could have a couple of coffee's over a couple of hours and only pay for one! I appreciate many Mum's or full time workers may find it tricky to commit to a couple of hours so I am happy to be flexible on the day and time of the club to suit others....morning, afternoon, night or weekend? I am a Private Tutor and work from home so I am free during the day until 3.30pm and after 7pm. I am also free weekends. For this reason, I am fairly flexible so I hope to include all those who simply fancy a couple of hours out once a month for a light chat! If anyone likes to read, eat cake, drink coffee, have a natter with other readers and fancy a couple of hours a month light chat - let me know. I will collect numbers and Private Message all those interested and we can go from there. Hope to hear from you soon! Kip :arghh:
  3. When we eventually get out to Oz (fingers crossed), Cleveland is the place we're hoping to settle. Just wondering what it has to offer a 10 yr old boy? We're absolutley dreading another long winter here in the UK :frown:, he will be climbing the walls in the next few months. Are there many skateparks etc in the area? and do kids play outside there or is it a culture of play dates after school? Hes really into skateboards/bmx and just started taking an interest in rugby. Would really appreciate any advice/information about anything in the surrounding areas:smile: Dee x

    Schools in Cleveland

Hi... We're looking at being in Brisbane around about November 2011, and looking at a number of areas around Brisbane (Wynnum, Manly, Ormiston, Cleveland). We have 2 boys (age 5 and 6), and I was wondering if anyone is currently in the Cleveland area and can recommend schools for their age ???? Also, a side thread really - but what are your experiences of Cleveland ?? Good place to live, place to avoid ?? Many thanks for any feedback, which will be most welcome.... Mark

  7. Hi I wondered if anyone could tell me how long it would take to drive from Cleveland to Coorparoo, needing to be in Coorparoo for 8.30am and leave about 4.30 pmish? Is the road bumper to bumper or would it be better to take the train? If so how much is the fare? Thanks a million

    Cleveland, Brisbane ...Whats it like????

Hi, Just looking at places in the Bayside district and was wondering if anyone has any information on the Cleveland area. We are moving mid August and have 2 kids aged 8 and 11, so good schools will be important (inside info on Cleveland state school would be great!) Terry will probably be working in the CBD and wants to be able to commute by train, so we will only need one car. Are there any good beaches nearby? How long would it take to go to the Gold coast from there? What are the local clubs like for the kids? Etc.etc...... Melanie x

  12. Hi there After some research on primary catholic school near Cleveland, we decided that we wish to send our 4 year old princess to the Star of the Sea. Does anyone sends their children there? Whats your opinion of the school? We will be applying this week (from Europe!) and hope all goes well. We're still waiting for our visas to be stamped in Germany and that's why we haven't applied yet (yes, they need a copy of the visas) We're a bit worried that there won't be any place left since people enroll them early. Our little one will start end Jan 2011 if all goes well. Does anyone know if there are still available places left? I'll write the school an email today, I'm just asking here to see if any of you guys know something Thanks!!!! B!K3R

  18. Hiya, We are a family of 4 soon to be 5 who are looking for a 4 / 5 bedroom house to rent with a pool in the Cleveland or Thornlands area. We have a very well behaved small dog is fully trained and no trouble at all! Have rented twice before with him and had no complaints! The owners of the house we are renting at the moment are coming back from their travels early!!!! We would pay up to $550 - $600 for a nice house. I am keeping an eye on the real estate websites but if anyone knows of anything coming available could you please let me know. Thanks in advance
  19. Hi I am new to this forum so forgive me if I make any mistakes!! My husband's company are Australian and he has been asked to work in their Brisbane office for 2 to 4 years, he is currently in Brisbane at the moment for a month working and looking at areas in his spare time! I joined him just for a week over half term and we really liked Cleveland and since I returned home my husband has seen Wellington Point and really likes it there too! I have been searching the web for information about the two areas my main concerns being how safe are they to live in? We have three children, ages 7, 9 and 13 so want to be in a child friendly safe environment. My husband would be starting his contract in September and me and the children would follow in December so its a few months off yet but I am keen to settle on an area so that I can begin contacting necessary schools and rental agents etc. Thank you!!
