  1. hi, I am a SIEBEL consultant with 5.6 years experience. Below are the list of designations I had in my employee history(its in order). 1. Technical Associate - 2 years 2. Senior Software Engineer - 2 years 3. Software Engineer - 1.6 years I worked as a SIEBEL technical consultant for all the 5.6 of my career. Which of the below ANZSCO code should I nominate my application? 261112 SYSTEMS ANALYST 261311 ANALYST PROGRAMMER 261312 DEVELOPER PROGRAMMER 261313 SOFTWARE ENGINEER If I go with my designation, I should go with software engineer. But if I decide based on my experience and profile, I should go with either Analyst programmer or developer programmer. It would be great if someone could help me on which ANZSCO code should I should use? Rgds, Phoenix

    clarification on 457 visa

Hi, I am working for a 3rd Party logistics company in the UK and am looking to move to Australia, I may have secured a sponsor in NSW that would employ me as the Warehouse Distribution Manager. I would therefore be applying under “Supply and Distribution Manager” although I have vast experience in logistics from being the site administrator for our warehouse management system to project managing new client take on and supervising the staff in the office, I do not have a bachelor degree of higher that would enable me to apply for a State / Territory, 485 Skilled Occupation of ENS visa. The only post school qualifications that I have is an NVQ Level 3 in business and administration. Am I right in thinking that a 457 visa would be the only route open to me at this moment in time, and that following 2 years working in Australia I would be able to apply for the ENS visa without the need for the degree qualifications? Also I have been reading that an IELTS exam needs to be completed, does this apply if I was born and educated in England? One final thing I understand that there is now a need for medical insurance when on a 457 visa, do this also apply to people moving from England where is a RHCA (Reciprocal Health Care Agreement) Thanks
  3. Hello all, I am so confused by immigration and the skilled occupation lists, I know that there are two lists, schedule 2 and schedule 3 If you have a family sponsor living in a designated area does it matter which skilled occupation list that you are on if you wanted to go for a 475 provisional visa!!!!!!!!! Or if you are on schedule 3 then you have TO GO FOR A STATE MIGRATION PLAN!!! ???????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? why oh why have they made it so difficult and complicated (still smiling though))))))
  4. Hi, So, after getting all of our paperwork together and then awaiting my wife's eligibility to register (AHPRA) as a nurse, we have finally submitted our e-visa application. Had a receipt to say that the money has gone and we have our Transaction number to keep a progress. So, what happens next? Apart from waiting!! Do we get asked to produce certain documents at certain times? I thought that we would have had to attach a lot of docs to the e-visa but it doesn't seem that way............. Steve

  6. Hello, I am completing the AASW form with regards to emmigrating to Australia, and have a few questions that I would like clarifying. 1) Question 15 asks for qualifications. I completed a GNVQ BTEC Advanced Health and Social care in 1995-97. I have put for this not be assessed, if it was to be assessed what documents would I have to provide? I only have the units I took (18 units) and if I paased each one (whichI did). It also asks for details of field work placements during the above course. I know that I did undertake a placement at a children's nursery but I was not assessed on this placement. I cannot remember where it was or any details about this placement/supervisor/s. What would you advise I put in this section (Q.15A)? 2) My second qualification is BA (Hons) Social Work. - Do I have to give the exact topic/title of my thesis? I have moved and all my Uni stuff is in boxes, am I able to write that it was about Female perpetrators of Domestic Violence and support services available to men. - I do not know what qualifications my practice supervisors within my 3 University placements had, how should i answer this question. - When describing the field work I undertook in the placements, is it enough to write what the services aims were, and what the service offered to clients. Please advise me if this section requires further information. 3) With regard to work history, how much am I expected to write? A paragraph summarising my role or a list of my duties? I work within Child Protection at present, so this could be quite extensive. Thanks In Advance, Aymie

    Clarification if poss please!

Hi All, We are just in the process of getting skills assessed with the intention of applying for SA SS. We have only just submitted skills assessment which should take 8 weeks. then I think SS answer should take around 5 weeks, then we can apply for 176 Visa. Its going to be close but hopefully get it in before the change in July. However, reading some peoples posts they appear to be getting COs allocated within weeks of application. Should we not bother with applying for SS and just go for a 175 and save the 5 weeks it will take to apply for SS if we may be processed just as quick?? Be really grateful if anyone could shine a light on this for us.

    Clarification please

Looking for some clarity. Present Situation: My husband is about to submit his Skills Assessment Application to the TRA. Question: There is an option for 2 payments, first is $650 for paper based assessment on all occupations and second is $1550 for Technicial Interview. Do we choose both assuming he will get a technicial interview, can't understand why they give you the option of choosing one or all? I believe the timescale for this is 8 weeks. Then we can apply for State Sponsorship and then Full Visa via DIAC. I am currently expecting and baby is due in 11 weeks? Considering the deadline for the visa application is July 1st, do we wait until baby is here before completing the application or apply as we are now (assuming we get the skills assessment & state sponsorship) and add baby at a later date? is this possible? does it incur costs? Thanks Highlanders

  12. Hi, Just wondering how it might be if I was to: 1. Put 170,000 AUD down on a 230,000 AUD house and ... 2. Borrow 60,000 AUD from a bank ( or equivalent ) as a mortgage 3. But not be able to pay the mortgage off ? Would I lose my 170, 000 AUD down payment ? Or would I have my 170, 00 but have to pay a 'fine' because I could not pay the 60,000 AUD mortgage ? Any advice much appreciated Thanks.

  14. Hi PIO, I have a few questions regarding the required pcc's please. I believe the pcc's that need to be done, have to be for the past 10 years. Well, our situation is: My wife and I are both originally from South Africa. We moved to the UK in August 2001. Therefore, have been in the UK approx 9yrs 5 months. Our time line is that we lodged our visa (176) in Oct'09, had WA SS approved in May'10, currently Cat 2....awaiting a CO. I've seen that people who applied roughly the same time as us are starting to get a CO and having to submit medicals & pcc. I've also seen comments that some were given 28 days to submit all these docs, and others were given 70. Now: What I'm trying to find out, is if we are asked to submit all these docs in the next few months, we are still going to be a few months short of a full 10 years in the UK. Will DIAC accept pcc's that are for eg: 9yrs and 6months?? Or will we have to get checks done for our time in South Africa? Has anyone on PIO ever had to request pcc's from South Africa, and if yes - how did you go about that?? I'm sure we'll have to pay someone something to get it sorted, but I'm wondering if we should maybe get the ball rolling on this one, as it will most likely take weeks, if not months, to get anything from South Africa!! :wideeyed: Thanks for looking, and for any advice. Regards, J

    Clarification

Hi Folks, I would like to if possible get some clarification on my situation. I applied on 03/05/09 176 family sponsored with occupation on the SOL list. I had previously thought i was Priority 4 and haven't looked at any new changes for some time. Had a look today and i see that those with occupations on the SOL list would be Priority 3 now. Does my occupation need to be on a new SOL list that i'm missing or does this apply to previous SOL list i was assessed initially under. Thanks for any advice given, Cheel
  16. Hi All Just wanted to post a thread about questions I had about 457 visa: I had a reply from my consultants based in Sydney in regards to travelling to Oz from UK before my 457 is ready and the queries I had with doing so... To clarify some basic points in case others are thinking the same quoted by my consultant: Can arrive in Oz on an ETA with return flight; As the baggage allowance does not apply to persons with 457, it makes no odds to travel as a tourist; ETA does not affect 457 in anyway; You do not need to be offshore when 457 is ready, ie/ you can be in Oz when it's granted (onshore) even if it was lodged whilst you were offshore; However, there is small chance the 457 may not be authorised thus will affect chances of staying; I am going to research whether the return flight can be cashed in if it is not needed! Will be open to additional comments if anyone has other thoughts on this. Thanks everyone.. Ann x:jiggy:
  17. Hi Iam pretty new to this forum. Bear me if I had asked the same question which was discussed earlier. I have completed my two years masters in information technology frm ECU perth. Graduation date sep09. Have applied from GSM 485 visa last september. I also have a ACS assessment which say my major is in computing. I went through the latest SOL which has scraped out the generalized term computing. My question here is 1.Am I still eligible to apply for a 885 permanent visa having scored 7 in all bands? 2. Can I use my existing ACS assessment for applying 885 visa which is dated 1dec 09, Taking into account the assessment is valid for two years. Or else should I apply for a new assessment and apply my 885 visa which will speed up my process as the new list shows that am in priority list 3(if am not wrong). 3. What are my chances of applying regional PR. (I work in a fuel station in perth). I have a plan of goin to esperance stay there for a year and work (in a fuel station)in esperance and come back to mandurah (which is a regional area i suppose) and work in perth for another year(same fuel station were am working now). Does that satisfy my two year stay in regional area and work in regional area for a year.(Am just trying all the possibilities not to mistake me as some crazy guy ). 4. Is it possible for me to apply for my 885 visa (having submitted all the documents) go back to my home country and return back in a tourist visa and get my visa stamped in australia. Thanks & regards Katik

    Clarification on visa choice.

I my of asked this question before but with all the changes going on I wanted to check if we still had any options. In April 09 we applied for a 176 family sponsored visa as a project administrator, in March 2010 we were granted WA state sponsorship as off list nominations for a temporary visa 457. we didn't apply for the temporary visa as we didn't see any benefit at the time and then there was the hold on any of that catagory applications to be made. Regardless of what we do now we have a long wait ahead of us but I wan to know are we still able to use our state sponsorship and would it help or would we be waiting just as long? Thanks
  20. Hi Was wondering if anybody could help me to clarify what processing group my application falls into. I have applied for a 176 GSM WA - State Sponsored Visa which was lodged and recieved by the DIAC 04th May 2010. My nominated occupation still appears on the 1st July 2010 SOL list but only on schedules 1 & 3. Schedule 4 which lists occupations by ANZSCO code does not have my nominated occupation. Does this meant I am in Cat 3 or Cat 4. Many Thanks Ian
  21. Hi all Now that I've finally ironed out all the creases surrounding the international/domestic status thing etc, I've been looking at what it's going to cost!! Moving to Brisbane soon (and nerves starting to come out!!) What I would like to know, just for my peace of mind... I'm interested in eventually doing the following: - Go to TAFE to do Diploma of Information Technology (Networking) - University to do Bachelor of Information Technology (been looking at Griffith - Gold Coast) Fee per Credit Point = $172.25 Tuition Fee per EFTSL (80 CP) = $13,780.00 Is that Tuition Fee per EFTSL for the whole Undergraduate Bachelor of Information Technology degree?? I hope that's not... per year/semester!! lol :goofy: Luke

    Clarification of visa applications.

Hi Guys, i just wondering if anyone can clarify or agree with me on the process of SMP sponsership. As far as i understand constantly looking at the WA site, that untill the new SMP is released and hopefully as a general plumber i can apply under the new ANSCO code, i cannot start to apply for my main 176 Visa on the DIAC website untill i have been granted the WA State sponsership. This contradicts alot of the talk of timescales and process i seem to read about here.. Im probaly wrong but the DIAC wont let me process my visa application untill i have a WA statesponsership No..:wideeyed: There seems to be alot of good advice and quite alot of headless chicken advice on PIO, Still the sun keeps shining..... Any good advice welcome.. Cheers Nick..

    176 query - clarification needed

ok here's the story applied for victoria sponorship in Feb. They requested VIT registration in March ( OH is a secondary school teacher, Maths). Forwarded VIT registration in early May together with skills assessment from Teaching Australia. Secondary school teacher is on the new SOL. Therefore can anyone tell me if Victoria are processing our application as occupation is on new SOL or is it that they have stopped processing all applications until new SMP is implemented. Would really appreciate some expert opinion. Thanks

Just seeking a bit of clarification

Hello Ok after the shock wave of the removal of the MODL I just wanted to get some clarification on what are options are now. Husband is Civil Engineer and has worked as a Civil Engineer for the past 13 years. He's 35, born in the UK. We orignially had 120 pts without IELTS and wanted to apply for a 175 visa. We would still like to apply for 175 as we like the flexibility of going to live wherever he finds work. We need to make up that missing 15pts. If he was able to pass IELTS that will give him an extra 10pts. How can we make up the extra 5 pts needed for 175, Unfortunately I work part time and have not been in my job long enough to have a positive skills test. I read something about state sponsorship giving you an extra 10pts. Is this correct? Can we apply for state sponsorship to get the extra 10pts and then still apply for 175? If that's true what is the process to apply for state sponsorship for the extra 10pts. Is it best to apply to the state you are most likely to move to or doesn't it matter? If it doesn't matter are there some states that process SS quicker than others? Sorry for being a bit dim regarding all of this. We knew exactly what we were doing with the 175, now we're just a little confused! Oh and one last thing. If we are able to get state sponsorship and IELTS, can we still do the visa application ourselves or would you suggest doing it via an agent. Cheers Lou x (sorry for so many questions!)
  25. Just looking for someone to set me straight on what the changes mean for international students. I understand it to be that once degree or chosen course is complete the next step is to apply for bridging visa which will allow individual to attain required work experience and once this has been achieved employer sponsorship would have to be sought in order for the student to remain in Australia. I also believe that professionals are more agreeable rather than less qualified careers ? If this is not the case please would someone correct me. Thanks Emma
