Hi, My husband and I( with our daughter) have been trying to move to Oz for the last year or so but unfortunately it is so difficult since he is 45 years old and cannot get a visa he has to be sponsored, He is a fantastic Carpenter he is always on the ball, we had a company also and he has 25 years experience but he hasn't been in work for over 2 years here. We would like to know if anyone has an idea if it would be too hard to get a 457 visa over his age or because he is a carpenter? also if anyone has a near estimate of how much would be need to get over please let me know. Greatly appreciated Kirsty.

Never posted before, first forum i have ever registered to... Im flying into Brisbane early january 2012!!! alone hopefully to find some carpentry work anywhere on the East coast. Im not sure of anything to be honest so im keeping a complete open mind and am willing to do any kind of work anywhere on the East coast. only Three months of crazy saving to go! A mate was supposed to come with me but cant get his backside into gear to save money and hes blown me out Alone it is... Although im very nervous about it. I cant wait to get out there and meet people and just have an unbelievable time! Ive dreamt of being in Australia since i can remember! Im mostly worried about finding the work... Chhhheeeeeerrrsss -
URGENT: PiO Member needs Carpentry/Building Help in Perth

Hi All This is URGENT, please. A friend of mine in Perth needs somebody immediately to do some alterations to a house in Perth. My friend's local friend was going to do the building work but he is not very well and the work needs to start immediately. My chum is due to phone me (in the UK) tomorrow or Wednesday. His girlfriend and I are trying to sort out what is needed to the house and one or two people to help with the work, please. From the description, it might need a 2 man team - one who knows about Carpentry and the other who knows about brickwork or maybe general building work, probably. If you are in Perth and you have real skills, please contact me as soon as possible. NO COWBOYS, please. My chum is very shrewd and would know straightaway if his girlfriend and I managed to produce cowboys where it is plain that they couldn't do the work which is needed. Many thanks Gill:notworthy:
