    foster carers advice needed

My wife and myself have been foster carers in the U. K for the past ten years. Currently we foster two sisters who have been placed long term with us, they have lived with us for the past 7 and a half years or so and are currently subject to a long term care order, there is no prospect of them ever returning to their birth family. Recently we appointed an emigration agent to explore the possibility of us emigrating to Adelaide, obviously because the girls have been with us so long we would wish them to come with us,,we have always maintained however that we would continue to support contact with the birth family, be it distance or a once a year face to face contact. This is all happening with the full support, agreement and funding by the Social Service department we are with. We are currently in court in an effort to resolve certain issues regarding the birth families consent and would need to know whether, in order to obtain a visa for the children would we need to have a full adoption order or would a special guardianship order along with a statuary- declaration from the birth family or the courts be sufficient. We would appreciate any legal information that you could provide to us in order to present to our Solicitors and the Judge who is involved with this case at Manchester Courts. Thank you for your time and co-operation with this matter. kind regards Martin Roantree
  2. Hey all! I am applying for my partner's visa soon but I am still waiting on a career's visa & I have a BVA on the carer's visa. I am planning to cancel the carer's visa once I submit the partner visa application. Would that be a good idea? And also what advice can I get because I really want this partner's visa to come through. Thank You!
  3. Hi all, We have been trying for some time now to find a way to Emigrate as permanent residents to Australia with no joy. My husband and I have been foster carers for 7 years and both have an NVQ3 in health & social care (children and young people) which is not enough to get us through the process. We have contacted the local authority in Queensland to try to get advice from them but so far with no more information. Has anyone else been in or know of any similar situations that might help? Thanks Lisa
  4. We are a recruitmemt company and have a number of sponsorship opportunities within Aged Care facilities in Brisbane's southside and also at the Gold Coast. The positions are for Registered Nurses and for Clinical Nurse Managers in residential care homes. In order to apply for a Clinical Nurse Management position you must be eligible for registration with the QNC. Our sponsors would particualary welcome applicants who are over the age of 45. You will need to have a minimum of two years experience and Aged Care experience would be desirable. On offer is an excellent salary package, relocation assistance ie help in booking accomodation, bank accounts, tax file numbers etc We also have carer positions in regional Queensland and sponsorship is also on offer for these positions. Immigration advice can be provided by our in-house MARA registered agent if required who will provide you with information and advice on obtaining permanent residency. Our clients are offering these positions on a 457 basis in order to speed up the visa process. If anyone would like more information - please send me a PM. We would also like to hear from migration agents who have clients who may be interested in these opportunities.

    Carers roles

Hi OZ2512. I hope you dont mind me asking you this and going of the subject of the thread a bit. You mentioned you are a nurse. My husband is a health care assistant here in the uk and I am starting to get a bit worried about jobs for him when we arrive in gold coast this sept. He has been working across various untits for the last 20yrs and has loads of experience and can get about 10+ good references from the more senior staff he works for. Do you know what type of roll he will be able to go for and how to start? Thanks Ness

    carers visa??

Hi, can anyone explain some of the ins and outs of a carers visa? Basically, Jays ( my OH) Grandad (who is near Newcastle, NSW) is living alone (wife now living in aged care facility) in his late 70's and finding life increasingly difficult to cope, i.e, with shopping, household, is isolated, mobility, etc and he has no blood relatives living in OZ (one of the 10 pound poms and then remarried over there so all family not blood related and unfortunately cannot offer much help in terms of care). How realistic would it be to look into Jay going out on a carers visa and anyone know about time scales for this ?? Grandad has always been pretty self sufficient and capable up until the last year I'd say but its very difficult to judge the extremity of the issues he's facing without actually seeing how he is, how he's coping, etc but have recently had a couple of teary phonecalls .... ANY advice on this possibilty gratefully appreciated as we are very concerned for him Angie x
