  5. I know this is going to start an argument, but I think at the end I hope my point comes across. Please watch the clip below, stick with it please, I know it goes on a bit, bloody advert before it, eventually it gets there though, but it is important to see it, IMO anyway: London Regional News | London Tonight - ITV Local Now in this day and age we 'seem' to believe that violence etc is restricted to so called 'sink' estates where there is someone around every corner only to willing to stab, mug and rape you, an often misguided thought process, but one that is purported time and again. So, having watched the above clip can someone please tell me what the hell is going on here. FOUR months probation, for what was an act that could have ended in the worst possible scenario. It's often the 'chattering' classes that look at sink estates etc, and will be the first to jump on the bandwagon of discipline, revenge, common as muck, etc. But how about this one. These 'morons' have in some peoples opinion good jobs, good prospects, came from a 'balanced family, la, la, la. So instead of some of us looking at the more rougher areas of the UK how about we shut the feck up until behaviour like this is suitably punished. I have a feeling that if the turds that carried out this abhorrent attack had come from a sink estate the uproar from public and press alike would comment with such vitriol and contempt, and rightly so, but these 'people' in some peoples minds are 'middle' class. So why oh why did they ONLY get four months probation. I guess whet I am trying to say that the more fortunate among us can look 'down' etc at the more unfortunate and demand anti social behaviour be eradicated immediately. But these people are no better than scum, scum that should have known better. But it is a facet of our society that I find amazing. We are all to quick to condemn a certain sector of society, when in reality the type of violence we complain about is happening directly under our noses. Until we realise that this behaviour is abhorrent from EVERYBODY then this country will remain a country divided by wealth and privilege. I dare say the people involved will continue on with their lives, keep their jobs, and be welcomed back by their families as some kind of hero, makes me sick to the pit of my stomach at times the way WE view crime and those that do it. Edited to ad. This happened no more than a mile away from my house. Can I get a bunch of vigilantes together to give those involved a little chat please.:realmad: Cheers Tony.

  7. I made a phone call to DIAC this morning in hoping they can give me some positive feedback about my 886 application, since i have nominated a wrong occupation 2231-79(nec) and i just want to change it. This is what i've been told: 1/ Cant change nominated skill 2/ Cant apply for another onshore skilled migrant visa (graduated more than 6 months) 3/ cant transit to SMP 886 when being released. 4/ cant apply for 457 long term working visa, salary does not meet current market threshold which is $47220 5/ last questions i asked, how long for waiting if in CAT4. firmly answered 3 years. No more hopes, like fell into an indefinite hell.

How can we be called poms ?

Just a bit of useless information but how can we be called a pom. Apart from the abarigines from australia the word pom means "prisoners of mother earth" wich comes from the english criminals been sent over to oz for commiting crime years and years ago so there generations born in oz who are the current australian original citizens they are the poms not us lol The law abiding citizens stayed in england were us lot generate from so them calling us poms is a joke when really there the poms not us ! hehe if only my great great great grandfather would have nicked a loaf of bread or summet back in them days i could have been born in oz instead of here bloody shame thats all i can say lol and who says crime dosent pay it certainley did for there future generations ! And if its true that those 2 boys who killed jamie bulger have been sent over to oz to embrace a new life with a new identity then all i can say is history may be repeating itself then. Wonder if i commit a crime they would send me to oz save all the hassle of a visa application !

  11. HI EVERYONE I LIVE IN REGIONAL NSW WHERE BELIEVE ME, THEY ARE THICK AS "BLEEP" THE SO CALLED CORPORATE I WORK FOR IS AS RACIST AS THEY COME HOWEVER ONLY TO "POMS" SORRY BUT I CANT STAND THE WORD ANY MORE. IF I DARE MAKE A COMMENT WITH "CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM" I AM CALLED A WINGEING POM, SOMETIMES I AM REFERRED TO AS THE TEN POUND POM EVEN THO I AM WAY TOO YOUNG, ALSO REFERRED TO AS THE GREAT UNWASHED. I AM CONSIDERING TAKING THEM TO THE TRIBUNAL FOR RACIAL VILIFICATION BECAUSE ITS NOT RIGHT. DOES ANYONE ELSE SUFFER THIS TYPE OF ABUSE AND DOES ANYONE KNOW OF THE ORGANISATION THAT IS AGAINST BEING CALLED POMS ALL THE TIME? OTHER THAN THAT, ITS A PRETTY PLACE, BUT WISH TESCO'S MARKS AND SPARKS AND BOOTS WERE HERE TOO, NOT TO MENTION A MILLION AND ONE PROPER PUBS AND CLUBS,,, SIGH,, BUT HEY, YOU CANT HAVE IT ALL. XXXXXXXXXXXXX ANY HELLP WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED. NATALIE X:arghh:
  12. Hi, All being well Estate Agent coming next week to value house then on the market. At last. Hooray. BUT, does anyone know what those plastic elasticated shoe covers you get when you go into show homes to put on your shoes - are called? 13. We had our medicals just over a week ago and this morning got a voicemail from the doctor asking my other half to come in to see him. Ofcourse the worry box that I am I almost had a heart attack during the 15 minutes it took for my OH to call the doctor and find out what was going on. I was imagining the worst, HIV etc! The doctor said nothing to cause concern, but he would like a second xray as the first picture was not clear enough. Has anyone out there had this? Not sure if this is common or not. My OH is a semi-pro cyclist and fit as a fiddle, never had any probs with his lungs/heart... But now I am worried ofcourse, if it could really be something sinister :wideeyed: Surely the doctor would not have said 'nothing to worry about', if there was something to worry about?? I guess I should be pleased that I haven't been called back in as I am probably in the clear. Every cloud...

    being called a pom

i know this has probably been discussed a million times before, but im new and i just wanted to speak with some of you other (pommy *******) about how you feel about it. iv been here for 8 weeks and, as im probably younger than most on here (id imagine alot of you are families etc) im in the firing line of the pom cannon - in smoking areas and nightclubs and pubs up and down north perth and northbridge! iv heard it countless times, from as little and as meaningless as "im from manchester" "ahh your a pom!", all the way over to "no ones listening to ya you little pommy ******" from a big gang of lads. i personally dont mind it, and even when its meant in a derogatory manner i can still shrug it off, but i dont seem to get what the problem is. i would imagine its the same kind of thing as the eastern european invasion back in the UK, and the british getting pissed off with the polish. but i think that is fairly reasonable.. we have a poor, poverished nation of people, with absolutely no money, unable to speak english, flooding in and claiming benefits and social housing etc. its completely different here. the british are turning up qualified, not willing to work for less than the aussies, able to speak the language, have a fair whack of money in their pockets and generally have the same morals and social values as the australian people. in fact, the majority of australian people are third and fourth generation british anyway! they have the union jack on their flag, and the queens head on their coins. but still there is an extremely severe bitterness which i have noticed, especially in the young people. i dont know if its some kind of tribal mentality, ie "these outsiders are turning up, taking our women and our land" which admittedly any human being is genetically built to feel like. or whether its something else. i just dont understand it really but it does grind my gears when i hear it. australian elders are fine, every older bloke and woman iv met has been really nice to me, but all the aussies seem to want to do is fight me. which is a laugh really cos if i let loose on some of the guys that have tried it, they wouldnt know what day it was. but iv turned and walked away because i dont wanna tarnish the image of the british any more than it appears to have been tarnished! anybody elses experiences and thoughts would be more than welcomed. PS, i also think it is GREAT that the media allow the word "pom" to be used in a derogatory manner. it just goes to show how much stronger and citizen-orientated the countrys government is. if they banned this, it would begin to get like british government and media, where the words "muslim ******" printed in a newspaper would raise the countries terror threat level from amber to red, and ensure that millions were spent on an investigation. so in that sense, i think its good that the australian government puts its people first even before a migration group (british) as like-minded as the aussies.
  15. I’m working for a recruitment company & am on a commission only basis. I was looking at the option of setting up either as a Sole Trader or as a PTY & invoicing them directly. As it is, I’ve to go through another company, whom I pay close on 5% of my revenue through. This covers Public Liability / Indemnity & their processing fees. So they bill the company I’m with & carry out all the required tax work that goes with it. I’d like to deal with the recruitment company directly. I’ve been told that there’s some kind of 80% rule, whereby if you’re deriving 80% of your income from one company, then you have to be on their books. I might have not explained this exactly as the law is, but I can see exactly where they’re coming from. If this wasn’t the case a lot of people would just set up their own company & invoice their employers directly, taking full advantage of the tax breaks companies can avail of. Before I go paying for financial advice, maybe someone has an idea of a way around this predicament (if indeed there is a way around it)

    What is the visa called?

I am filling in my form for my medical and I am not sure what to call the visa. I am wanting a permanant defacto visa and on the immi website it is called Spouse Visa: Offshore Temporary and Permanent (Subclasses 309 and 100) which is far too long to write on the form. As I want a permanant one do I just put permanant subclass 100 or since it has to be temporary for 2 years first before going permanant do I put temporary subclass 309 but if I do that then how will they know I want permanant? Or do I just have to squeeze in all of that? Thanks

    Just called Aus house.....

Hi everyone!! Thought I'd take the bull by the horns and call Aus House (I haven't previously as we have an agent and feel a little naughty!!!) They asked me if I had an agent so I acted dumb and said my other half usually dealt with it so I wasn't sure (strike me down!!!) Well, I was desperate to get some info. She said the screen didn't give her much info and she couldn't see whether I had a case officer or not. She really couldn't tell me anything - boo! I asked her if our meds were finalised and she said they had been 6 days before our full ack so at least I know that much now! It sounds silly and I know its probably nothing but it was great just to get that snippet of progress!! Anyone else got any juicy info that might keep me sane a bit longer?!!! It's so great to see that the visas are starting to come through now!!! Sarah x
  19. Hi I have noticed that some of the visas have had different numbers before. Has 475 family sponsored been called anything else?:spinny:

    What Are Gce's Called?

When writing a CV what is the GCE equivalent to over there? I cant imagine prospective employers would be familiar with our exam system here. Hope someone has got more of a clue than me!
  21. Hi, I've heard about a company called freespirit that acts as your business sponsor on behalf of companies and helps you to get a good salary package. Other than their website I can't seem to find much about them on the net. Has anyone used them? Are they legit? They recommend using to package your salary even if you find your own job - does this really benefit me? What sort of cost is involved - they are a bit vague about that? Any experiences that you could share would be welcome. Thanks Cat
