Hi all we arrived in Perth on wednesday & so far loving every minute, its winter although it has rained a bit (apparently theres been hardly any rain so its very much needed!) today has been lovely skys & sunny! Were in a holiday rental for 1 month in Mindarie but we desperately need a long term house to rent as the kids cant go to school until we do due to the cathment areas. We dont really want to settle in Mindarie as weve heard its quite expensive & we have fell in love with Butler (we came last year for a month to suss out areas) but struggling as we want a pool. Thre doesnt seem to be any with a pool???? If anyone knows of any for rent in or around Butler (would consider other areas) please please let us know. Didnt think it would be such a headache!!!! Thanks Hayley:laugh:

    Butler -> Perth CBD

    Hi, Our flights are booked for 27th July, land in Perth on 28th and stopping for a couple of nights in Perth CBD (Mont Clare Boutique) before heading up to Butler where we have an 8 week rental (The Spirit). How practical is the commute to the CBD where I'll be working? Have a hire car for the first couple of weeks, but ideally, want to give public transport a go. What are the best options to get to Clarkson train station (walk, bike, car)? to allow me to be in the City for an 0830 start. Is there a car share option? Also, does anyone have any ideas/suggestions for what we can do to make our new life a little bit more enjoyable, and any other comments on Butler and the surrounding areas? Thanks. Alistair, Louise, Ruby (4 going on 14!) and Ella (2 going on 20!)

  6. We are looking to move over mid-March and need either a short term holiday rental, approx 4 weeks. Should anyone be looking to break-lease we would certainly be interested, however long term we need accommodation to suit 5 adults and also that allows pets as we are bringing our two small pooches. If anyone knows of anywhere that is or might be available then please let me know. Thanks
  7. Hi All Rocheal(pomsinperth) and I have decided to have a casual meet and greet this Friday. Anyone else needing some adult conversation at this stage of the school hols? All are welcome including kids. Between us Rocheal and I have 8 so a few more and we can have a friendly footy match. Come along and introduce yourself, have a chat and send the kids off to play and make friends. Where: Kingsbridge Park - Brighton (Park in Brampton Av Carpark and look out for some balloons. When: This Friday 14th Jan 2011 from 12noon. BYO anything you like. There are Gas BBQ's if you want to cook up some sausages for the kids. 9. My family and I (2 boys aged 8 and 5) have all our visas in place and have booked a one way flight to Perth on the 16th of August this year. Although we have been to the Gold Coast and Melbourne to research the areas 3 times in the last three years, we decided on Perth due to more work opportunities for my husband who is a bricklayer. We have been researching suburbs on the internet and are totally confused about where to settle. We quite like the look of Butler NOR and Secret Harbour (SOR). What do you think about either of these areas and do you have any other suggestions?? Thanks for any kind of advice you may offer us :biggrin:
  10. Hi Iam 42 and been in Butler, Perth for the last ten months and not really met anyone yet. I have two sons 15 & 18 and live with my hubby. Anyone up for meeting for coffee please let me know Lorraine
  11. Hi moved to perth in April with my husband and my girls ages 5 and 18 months and have made a few friends but still feel abit alone here and would like to meet up with some more mums who would be up for meeting for a coffee/play area etc. Hope to hear from you all! Donna
  12. Hi, :jiggy: I am 33yrs old, married with 3 kids. Hubby aged 34yrs (Jon), kids are aged 5yrs (girl), 3yrs (girl) and 4weeks (boy). I am a senior oncology nurse but am not going to work for the first yr as I have a baby. We have been here since June 09 and live in Yanchep. Yanchep is a lovely area but maybe a tiny bit 'far' out. So far we have made some great friends, but like in the UK they are all busy bees, rushing around whilst I am stuck at home. SO, I AM LOOKING FOR SOME NEW FRIENDS........ ANY AGE, WITH OR WITHOUT KIDS (but aware that I have some). WILLING AND WANTING TO MEET NEW PEOPLE, GO FOR COFFEE AND MOST OF ALL, "HAVE A LAUGH/FUN/TAKE LIFE AS IT COMES". Thanks for reading my post..... Am getting ready for all my replies!

  15. Hi, we've finally made the decision to move over although haven't started filling out forms yet. Just trying to get an idea of where we want live so we can have a look at real estate and get an idea of how much $$$ we will need to start off with. We have friends in Butler (although one is building a house in Carramar) but didn't want to move there just because they live there too, so what we're really asking is what is Butler like??? We have an 8 yr old and a 2 yr old who will both be a year older when we move over so would like to know if the local schools in Butler are any good. We'd like to be close to some nice beaches (child friendly) too if possible, are the beaches near Butler any good? We live in a large village at the moment on the edge of Southampton so a small community as opposed to living in the city is what we're looking for. Sorry for all the questions, we've heard good things about Butler but just want to make sure it's right for us. Thanks in advance for any info xxx

    East Butler Primary

    Hi all Just wondered if anybody has any experience of Butler especially the schools. My family and i (Wife 34 & Daughter 8) hope to be out early in 2010 in time for her to start school in Feb. What is Butler like to live? and is there plenty on offer to entertain kids- Cinema, Bowling etc. is there a "league table" of results for schools like we have in the UK? Obviously this is a huge step that we are taking and my main prioriy is to ensure the happiness of my daughter so a good school is a MUST and then just hope everything else just fall into place Thanks for any info Gaz

  20. Hi Folks As a family we are off on a trip around Australia in April for 6 mths and are looking to rent our home out while we are gone. It would be a 6 mth lease with the usual bonds/paperwork etc. The house is: - a big 4 x 2 with great living areas - huge main bedroom with bath in ensuite. - air con and heating - very cool in summer and warm in winter - beautiful gardens - spacious and well laid out - 2 mins from the beach If you're interested then drop me an email (hamo@brightontown.com.au) and we can send some pics or give more info. We are looking at $550.00/week over that period (with a little bit of flex in price). ie if you want to look after our dog it will be cheaper! If you would like to use one of our cars then we can negotiate on that too. Basically we will pack up our stuff into one room of the house and leave the rest to live in. We aren't looking to make a killing out of it but we do want to rent it to people who will look after it and who need a great home for that period of time
