Hi all Further to other threads regarding qualifications that are 'recognised' in Aus, does anyone know if BTEC qualifications are accepted or even recognised in Australia. My daughter is doing a BTEC National Diploma (Extended) in Animal Management which is, so Im told, equivalent to 3 A levels. Will this qualification allow her to study at a higher level in Oz (if we ever get there?) or at least be recognised by a prospective employer. If it isnt then she is still going to study this route as we may have to stay in the UK if Australia is not an option or she may decide that her future lies here  Many Thanks Gill

Hello, Can anyone help please. I have just found out that Btec National Diplomas do not count as the AQF Diploma, only a Cert IV. There are only Three skills listed on the Sol that you may pass on with this type of qualification. So - what do I do next ? Do I send in my qualifications for a Building Associate Professional (I work in the construction industry) but for the asscoiate skill it only states similar occupations. So I wonder if my skill and experience could count within this section. I do not want to get bit on the butt when I apply for State Sponsorship as some States ask for proof of past 12 months work experience. Could I get around this with what I do ? Oh - I am a Software Trainer for a Project Management/Planning/Costing tool. Sorry for the long thread....but help needed. Thanks

Hi My husband and I are at the beginning of the visa process and are presently gathering the necessary documents for the VETASSESS skills assessment. The job we are going in on states that an AQF Diploma or higher is needed. My husband has a BTEC National Diploma in Business and Finance. Having scoured the threads on here and a few other forums I see that the qualification alignment was changed some 3 or 4 years ago and now the BTEC ND is only assessed to be the equivilannt of an AQF Cert IV. Our agent has said that we would have a 50/50 chance of being passed- that it would depend on how much documentation relating to the course we could get to strenthen our case. Has anyone passed their skills assessment with the BTEC ND for a 40 point occ where AQF Nat Dip or higher was asked for? We are thinking of doing an AQF Dip in Manangement thro RPL- we have been advised of an organisation who can help us. Would this be the best way forward? Any comments would be gratefully recieved. Many Thanks

Hi, we're hoping to move to Sydney later this year but I am worried about my eldest son's future. He's just started a foundation degree in Digial Media here in the UK. He was able to get onto this course by virtue of his BTEC National Diploma (level 3) in media (games development) - he has no 'A' levels. Is this a recognised qualification in Oz and, if it isn't, what can we do to further his education over there?

My son is at college completing a BTEC National Certificate in Sport, do they have any qualifications on the same lines, he's going to be 18 yrs old when we arrive in Australia, will he be able to continue this course at a college or high school? Anyone out there can help? This is one of our issues about going to Australia.

Hi there, my son(16) is in his final year of school this year but will be staying on into the 6th form. All the BTEC couses here in the UK are 2 years and as we don't really want to wait that long to come over to Aus to live i need to know if he could do the 2nd year in an Australia school, carry on where he left off so to speak. If anyone knows if this is possible i was really appreciate it!! Many thanks in advance!! Alison x
