Hello I am a 24 year old man from Norway. Im am currently on a Working holiday Visa and have been doing some window washing jobs for 10 months now. So my Working holiday runs out by the End of the year. I met my new zealand girlfriend here in sydney 6 months ago, and I would like to stay for another 6-7 months I am a Licensed Plumber but I don´t really wanna keep working as a plumber.. I have however gotten an offer for another window washing job. so Im wondering if anyone have any advice on what to do or what Visa to look for? someone told me I should get the skilled Visa, couse it puts you on a ¨bridge visa¨ and you can stay in Australia and work while you wait for your Visa to process. idk if this is true? but I know that the skilled visa is about $3500.
Hi, Been at it since morning and am hoping to find some respite from Poms in Oz members. My brother-in-law has been residing in Aus for over 1.5 yrs and has had to make a trip to India for some family reasons. When in Aus he was on Spouse Visa, which due to some personal reasons, was converted to Bridge Visa A. Now he has a MRT hearing later this month back (23 Oct,2012 ) in Aus and is not being allowed to travel to the country as apparently one can't travel back into Aus on Bridge visa A, which he wasn't aware off. The Aus Embassy in Delhi says that he should take on a Tourist Visa, head back into Aus and then re-apply for Bridge Visa A. Now my questions: 1. Can a tourist visa be converted into Bridge Visa A, based on his exceptional case, once back in Australia? 2. Once back in Aus, would he be able to resume work, where he's been employed for over 1.5 yrs? 2.a. If not, how does one get him back into a situation where he can resume his work? Any special application / visa that he'd need to apply for, aside from Employer sponsorship? 3. Will he be able to attend for his MRT hearing, for his migration into Aus, since he's going to be on a Tourist visa? 3.a. If so, should the hearing be in his favor, will the MRT convert his tourist visa into a Bridge Visa A or B? Thank you in advance for all the assistance / guidance forwarded in this time of crisis.
