I want to go back at some point for up to 12 months on the Long Stay Visitor Visa (600£ Will they grant it to me and can I apply for permanent visas once the visitor visa ends? Also are there any other visa that I could do this with?

  4. im an 18yr old girl and have been with my boyfriend for 1 1/2 years now and things are going really well, too well that we don't want my move, on a PR visa, to break us up. is there any possible way that ,after a WHV, if things go well, he would be able to stay with me in Australia? i have heard many things such as us having to live together for at least 1 year, providing utility bills etc, and of course engagement securing a more positive response to him being able to stay, but i dont really understand the policies. just need a little guidance to understand and make sense of the situation please Jade xxx

    Daughters boyfriend

My 17 yr old daughters long term boyfriend now tells her he wants to ome along with us when we are granted our visa, problem is we are not far off getting a case officer, He is the same age as her, at college doing Computer IT, would he be able to come along at the same time as us on some type of visa, any thoughts on this???? Cheers Proview
  6. G'Day all, I am English as is my boyfriend of near 10yrs, he has moved out to Oz, living with his mum and her Ozzy husband currently on a tourists visa. He has been accepted on a mechanics course starting in July, then he will be applying for his students visa nearer the time. We have a 4yr old son together and i have a 14yr old daughter (whos father is deceased). I am curious as to what process will need to take place to be eligible to reside in Oz as i really dont fancy spending the next 2 yrs without him and him missing 2yrs of our sons life. Is it possible for us to go on his students visa? would my daughter be able to aswell although he has not adopted her. We have nothing in joint names after the trouble my first relationship breakdown caused i vowed never to have anything joint until i was legally married. Will this go against us? I am confused but he thinks its all a breeze which i very much doubt, any advice is very much appreciated.
  7. Hi guys, I'm wondering if anyone could give me some advice on my best option to migrate to Australia to be with my girlfriend. We have some issues with bringing this dream to reality though, here they are. 1. We have only been together 4 months and have not shared a house or flat in this time. We have no proof of our relationship other than a few photo's and a VERY long conversation list on Skype. Also a few emails. We are however very much in love and spent every minute of that 4 months together. The past 3 weeks that I have been back in the UK without her have been horrible!! 2. There is an age gap! I'm 32 and she is 19. Will DIIAC give us grief about this? 3. I have been in Australia for a total of 15 months since November 2008 on a few 3 month multiple entry visitor visa's. I did fly back to the UK in July 2009 for two months, but returned to Aus in September 2009 and stayed until March 2010. Does this not screw me up for any kind of proof of recent work experience for possible state sponsership. 4. My job description is not on the Regional Skilled Database. (We want to live in Torquay and my job is an Interaction Designer). 5. To go the Defacto route I know we need to prove that we have been living in a committed relationship etc for 12 months. Now as we have only been together for 4 months I realise that our only option is for me to head back to Australia inside the next 6 months and get a flat with her and stay for a year so we can get all the evidence needed. I can fulfill the financial side of this, by november I should have around $60,000 saved. But not sure what visa I should come over on (am not comfortable on doing the 3 month multiple entry again, but the 12 month option sometimes has a no further stay condition. Would this no further stay condition, cause trouble with a possible defacto application at the end of my year??) 6. I was thinking of a TAFE course for 2 years. That would allow me to work and stay for long enough for us to achieve our 12 months and gather our evidence. But we really wanted to spend the money I saved on buying a house together, a TAFE course will obviously eat into those savings greatly and make buying a house too risky for me. Also with the changes to the Student VISA system I'm not sure what the hell my options are now with this. 7. Proposed Spouse Visa is a viable option I have read, but again we have a problem. My GF is more than willing to marry me, and I would love to marry her (admittedly not happy about doing it for Visa purposes, would rather have it been a romantic thing a few years down the line)..but her family are not completley happy about us being together (The age gap!)...infact she has not even told her mum about us yet! So getting signed letters from her side of the family saying that we are happy and in love etc could be hard, I have not had a chance to meet any of them properly to show them I'm a genuine guy and do love their daughter/sister. My side of the family are cool though, my GF flys over to London at the end of June for 3 weeks and will be staying with me at my familys house, they will love her and not have any issue with the age gap. So thats me, would'nt say I'm up a certain kind of creek, but am just preparing my paddle in-case ;-) A few things you might need to know... My occupation is not listed on any of the skills databases. I guess it would fall under a Graphic Design role, but in honesty it is far more advanced that that. I dont know where I fit in to the whole skills thing!!!! I do not have a degree, but I do have over 10 years experience and a without being big headed, amazing showreel and portfolio... I am a British citazen. I am 32 Years old. Thanks
  8. Hi Everyone I'm from the UK, 30 years old, have already had my Australian WHV a while ago and am not entitled to my second year WHV. My boyfriend is Australian and has also had his WHV for the UK, we both had our WHV before we met each other. We met about 6 months ago whilst on a tour around Europe and spent a month together, we then had to spend 4 months apart due to work/ holiday commitments etc. We have now spent the last month together and have another 2 months together before my visa expires (I came in on a tourist visa) and I have to go back to work. We both want to be together in Australia and so looking into WHV's for other countries isn't something either of us really want to do. We realise we still have a long way to go until we can apply for the partner visa but I have read other posts on this website regarding starting to collect evidence of our relationship so we can start to put things in place now for when we decide to apply. Although, will we have problems opening a joint account in Australia as I am not a Australian citizen? My job is seasonal which means we will have to be apart whilst I work in the UK for the European summer but return to Australia in September for another 3 months, the plan is for us to spend Xmas in the UK with my family and then to fly back to Australia during which time we should have enough evidence to prove we've been together for a year. Our concerns are; will having to spend 5 months apart whilst I go home to work go against us when we apply for the partner visa? I also read that if I come back into Australian and tell immigration I am staying with my Australian boyfriend I will be refused entry as I will be seen as an 'immigration threat' and that I should fly in on a tourist visa. If this is so, should international flights taken with my boyfriend be booked separately? What happens if we apply for the visa and I have to leave Australia before a decision has been made? As our situation isn't quite so straight forward would it be an idea to pay for a migration agent? If so, can any one give any personal recommendations? Any help on any of the above matters would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks Early and Sugar
  9. Sorry this will be a little long winded but will keep it as short as possible!! My boyfriend of 7 years is an Austrailian citizen (not married yet) we have just had a little girl who is now 5 months old. He is wanting to move back to Austraila to live in 2010 this has always been our plan. His family are out there which I dont have a great relationship with. My daughter has her dads surname and he has also got her Australian citizenship which is great, but I am now very unsure on where i would stand if god forbid we were to split up over there and I wanted to come home. I know I would have to get his permission but as she is origionally from the UK is there any way i can bring her home? I am frightened of being stuck on my own out there and unable to leave. Just for the record we are very happy and I do want to go, I just want to know what all my options are If the worst was to happen out there? Also I am on my second stage of my visa process of pernament residency an am wondering what benefits i would be entitled to if any once im out there? would my daughter be entilted to any? When we get a house out there if im not a citizen would I still be entitled to half of the house if we were to spilt up? Thank you for your time, if anyone can give me any advice I would be very greatful! Worrygirl,
  10. Hi my boyfriend is English (as am I) and his company are sponsering him to move to sydney in late January on a 4 year visa, and me to come too on a spouse one. We are not married and have only lived together since March this year. How long do you have to have lived together for the de facto visa? Am i completely screwed? Thanks so much!

How to get boyfriend to Oz ?

Hi All, My daughter is included on our 176 app which hopefully will be granted very soon now. However, she now wants her boyfriend to come with us. He's 20, no special quals, is a trainee manager. I know young people often do a year travelling and working in Oz but don't know any more about the visa side. Any advice on this and timelines for his visa would be great.
  12. Hi,Im posting this on behalf of my sister. She arrived in Perth a few months ago with her live together boyfriend of 4 years,my sister came out on a student visa subclass 572 and her boyfriend came out on a 1 year working holiday visa. Im wondering if its possible that when his 1 year WHV runs out,can he go on my sisters visa or will he need to leave OZ? I would hate to think that he would need to leave. Once my sister has studied for 2 years i guess she will be applying for residency to stay in Oz and i believe she think that he can go on her visa. Has anybody else been in this situation or can they suggest anything they can do to enable him to stay here too? I would love to hear any suggestions or ideas!

    Visa for boyfriend

Hi, I am hoping to get a business sponsored Visa from an employer in Australia. However, my boyfriend is over 30 and we are not married. Does anyone know the route I should take to get him a Visa? If I get this job we will be moving in 2-3 months time??!! With a business Visa you can take a secondary applicant - husband or family member - Is there a loop hole that you can take similar to taking your husband over that I can start? Any help would be great! Thanks

    Can my boyfriend come too?

Hello everyone This site has given me so much hope reading all your progress reports about moving to Oz. Currently I am working in Holland as a media production lecturer at an International University, been here 6 months. This is my first Higher Education teaching position. I am looking to apply for work at either a University or a further education college on the east coast of Australia. The problem is my boyfriend is dutch (Not his fault!), he is currently doing his degree part time and will not finish for another two years. Question 1: can he transfer his credits to an Australian degree? and carry on doing that part time? Question 2: Will he be able to get work out there. He has five years experience in ICT support and has microsoft qualifications as well. Without a degree? Question 3: He is also divorced and has two children that he sees every two weeks, will this have an effect on his visa application? I am very worried that he won't be able to go, can anyone give me some advice??? Thanks in advance
