    Favourite Tipple

If Australia Day is anything like Canada Day...It's a fantastic celebration and, of course, booze is almost always present. I can't say I drink that much (I used to be Mormon ages ago!! :biglaugh:).... but since moving to the UK I have to say I really enjoy Pear Cider and one of my favourite drinks is a glass of sparkling wine dosed with a shot of peach schnapps... Just wondering what everyone's favourite tipple is.... Have a Happy Australia Day ... and a Happy Burns Night (for those in Scotland)
  2. First post on here so be gentle with me. My wife and I are looking to move out to Melbourne around June next year and I have the task of arranging the logistics. Not surprising high on my importance list is my Malt Whiskey collection. Apart from having a very expensive party to say goodbye to the UK can I ship them? Some are open some not. Thanks for the help and Hello.
  3. I have a fairly sizeable booze collection, mostly open bottles of Single Malts and good cognacs etc and I know I can take them with to Australia (when I go), but I was wondering if it would be worth it. Does anyone know what the duty would be on open bottles of spirits if they came into Australia in our container?
  4. BBC NEWS | Asia-Pacific | Australian fans face booze limit Australian police are gearing up for an annual crackdown on motor-racing fans - limiting race-goers to 24 cans of beer a day. Spectators at the Bathurst 1000 - a three-day race meeting staged this week - will be told to stick to just the one "slab" of beer while at the racetrack. Wine-drinkers must also show restraint, facing a four litres per day limit. Thats what Aussies drink mate:laugh: real drinkers unlike you Poms on alco-pops.

  6. Heu guys, Should you give up the booze before your medical? Got mine next week and worried about liver tests! My job is very social so I drink too much, I'm trying to give it up but have been unsuccessful so far! Just wondering if anyone else had given up the booze and if it makes a difference? Thanks!
  7. Anyone free for a drink on Thursday night? I know we've arranged to go out in May too, but what with the long weekend,I feel I should take advantage of my hubby being off to get up with the kids! Thinking The Grand, Labrador? No men please, as I want to slag you all off! Jo x
