    Boiler any ideas

Has anyone got any ideas if i have a crap boiler? We have been in our new house for a few months now (house is 17 years old, which in old in aussie terms) and our boiler only heats up once a day. This is a massive pain in the arse. I've hunted the house high and low and i definitely have no override switch to reheat the tank, is there anybody out there who knows if its just a crap tank, or just that it's on its way out, or is there anyway of overriding so i can get it to heat more than once a day. Many thanks.
  2. Hi, not sure if the is is the right forum to put this in but I need advise please. I know there are lot's of plumbers or heating engineers out there so this question is mainly for them. we could be selling up this year and moving to OZ, we have an old, and I mean old Glow Worm Fuel saver boiler, its the type to heat up the water in a tank first before you get hot water. Just had it fixed again this morning, he told me its on its last legs and if we are intending to sell the house to move to OZ then it would be in our best interest to get it changed to a combi and change our seven radiators (why the radiators as well I don't know? I would do with the rads we have, or can we?) he told us this would help to get our hibs pack, and poss sell the house quicker. He said if we didn't they would just take the price off the house anyway. he told me approx £1800 would do the job. Advise please, do we leave it and will we loose out? or do we spend because what the potential buyer would try to take off the house would be more. I don't know? Regards to all and thanks in advance Glynn and Family
