  3. Hi all!! As expected, since we've been here logging on has been rather hit and miss. But we haven't forgotten about you all and your help To Bobj particularly - Jon (much to his disgust) has yet to manage any Snapper fishing, but has had some freshwater fun. Although he didn't catch anything edible, he did have some good fights with the noxious pest - ye good olde Carp. (And yes he knocked 'em on the head). Attached are a couple of photos of Jon and the Satchdog enjoying some fishing. You'll be pleased to know that our vicious attack labrador was not bested by the fish - although that may have been somewhat assisted by the large sledgehammer that was shortly whacked over the fish's head.

    Bobj's Travels.

Well as promised Bob has sent me some pics of his latest trip. Apparently he got a little bored last night and decided to pick a fight with a croc. Now I'm not a betting man, but I would wager Bob comes out the winner,:notworthy::notworthy::biglaugh: Apparently Bob can be heard shouting after defeating the beast, 'Crocodile Dundee, WHO!:yes:

Mackay Storms - BobJ and other members

Hope our members are safe from the floods in Mackay and surrounding areas. Just saw the following in the Herald Sun: THE State Emergency Service (SES) has door-knocked homes in Mackay to prepare residents for evacuation as heavy rain and king tides cause floods in Queensland. Ex-cyclone Olga and a monsoonal trough are dumping heavy rain in northern and central Queensland, and huge swells and king tides are being reported across the state's coast. Mackay, the sugar capital of Australia, received up to 330mm in 24 hours. The town's mayor Col Meng said a king tide of 6.6m hit Mackay around 11.30am (AEST). He said about six homes in a low lying area between the Pioneer and Vines rivers have been door-knocked and the residents asked to be ready for evacuation. "There has been a bit of water through that area but they are all OK," Mr Meng said. "They know what type of area they live in and they know what they have to do. "By the time SES staff talked to them they had already started preparations for evacuation." Mr Meng said overall Mackay residents were doing well with no inundated homes but he feared the king tide would have caused major erosion to Mackay's northern beaches. The Gold Coast also had a king tide on Sunday but no homes or streets were flooded. Flood warnings are current for coastal rivers and streams from Townsville to Mackay, including the Don, Haughton, Flinders, Norman and adjacent Gulf rivers. Townsville and its surrounds received between 100mm and 200mm of rain in the past 24 hours while 300mm fell in the past 24 hours west of Mackay. Senior forecaster Bryan Rollstone from Queensland's Bureau of Meteorology said the bulk of the rain was moving southwards to Rockhampton and he expected that by tonight the trough would reach as far south as the Fraser Coast. Floods have cut off two major highways. The Bruce Highway is closed at the Houghton River, Giru, between Townsville and Ayr and the Landsborough Highway has closed 30km west of Barcaldine in western Queensland.
