  1. I only just saw the posters in Karl Marx (Railway) Square and now I've been left behind with the rest of the Luddites. If ONLY I had put my name down for the latest I Phone. Still, judging by all the members of the Proletariat & the Bourgeiousie enjoying the sunshine in their separate watering holes - pubs and beer, or cafes and coffee - I think the revolution will be postponed for another year. I suffered my usual existential angst, torn between pub & cafe. Am I 'upper working class' or 'lower middle class?' I had to re-visit my English life and think 'Did I prefer The Sun or The Daily Mail?' The cafe it is. Life rolls on in Penny Lane (Downunder.)

    Blackberry Meltdown....

another reason to stay with the I Phone:wink: MILLIONS of BlackBerry users lost their internet and messaging services in a major crash yesterday. The huge systems blackout at the firm's data centre in Slough, Berks, hit BB mobiles all over the UK, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. The meltdown, which started at 11am and had still not been fully resolved last night, wiped out BlackBerry Messenger — a free instant-messaging service popular with teenagers. Users were also unable to browse the web or access other internet services such as email. Text messages appeared to be unaffected — as did BlackBerry users served by a corporate server. As BlackBerry's Canadian maker Research in Motion struggled to deal with the blackout, many users vented their anger online. Ex-spin doctor Alastair Campbell said: "My BlackBerry is in blackout mode. Sort please." Amanda, from Twickenham, South West London, said: "So I have no email or BBM on my BlackBerry. I may as well cut one of my arms off too." RIM gave few details beyond a brief statement saying customers were "experiencing issues". It later said it was "working to resolve an issue currently impacting some subscribers". The blackout is disastrous news for RIM which has been losing its market share to smartphone rivals — particularly the iPhone. BlackBerry users in the Americas faced similar disruption last month. That meltdown led to the company's stock dropping 20 per cent — £1.9billion — in value.

  6. Hi i've got a BB on Orange in the UK but know it will be rediculously expensive to use things like my Blackberry Messenger and to look at my Facebook & e-mails etc. Just wondering if theres a service provider that lets you use these facilities as a Pay As You Go service and who the best providers are? Any help would be appreciated!
