    Rentals in Belconnen suburbs

Have been researching rentals in Belconnen suburbs and a lot seem very outdated with their 60's & 70's kitchens and bathrooms (they liked their coloured worktops back then!!) and pricey too. We are after somewhere less dated or a new build. Apart from Macgegor which has more new builds and seems slighter cheaper, what other suburbs in Belconnen are newer and have the new builds? We are not concerned about schools as both children are under 2. Thanks Claire
  2. Hi Guys We have just received our ACS skills assessment back as positive and are writing our Commitment Statement for SS to ACT. Having looked at the prices of properties - obviously we will rent first but long term we have about AUD 450,000 - 500,000 to spend on a property. My daughter is 12 now so she will be starting secondary school when we move. Ive had a look at myschool ratings and it seems that Burglan Anglican School - Gunaghlin and Radford College in Belconnen have the best ratings. I know we wont be tied to an area as these are private schools but was wondering would the commute be far from Gunaghlin and Belconnen if we chose to live in a different area. Ive done some research on property prices and it seems that the areas we could afford would be: Belconnen Gunaghlin Ngunnawal Dunlop Higgins Holt Page Scullin Evatt Latham Mcquarie Does anyone have any opinions on these suburbs or what they would be like for teenagers? We dont want to be in an area where there arent other kids of my daughters age for her to make friends with, but also we dont want to be in an area that we "should avoid" either. Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks Suzanne
  3. Hi all, We're moving to Canberra late December this year. We're very excited to live in such beautiful city and celebrating Christmas in OZ with you great people. My kids asked Santa Claus last year to send us to OZ as our next year's Christmas gift, and here we come. Thanks God. We have three sons 9, 4 and 4. We're looking to rent a home or townhouse in Belconnen or Gungahlin suburbs. Our main search factors are safety and good schools for our kids. We're searching for properties on allhomes, we find it excellent source for information. But we need more information from you kind Canberrans which we couldn't gather from the site, please. Belconnen and Gungahlin have many suburbs and I'm sure some suburbs are better than others. Please recommend which area to search in and which places to avoid. Our rent budget is 350-400 a week, do you think we could get a good property for a family with this budget? Cheers, Mariana
