  1. Hiya, Just wondering If I can get some solution to this query from this wonderful forum. just to brief you all, My Friend & her OH have 176 granted in Nov 2009. However, the main applicant ( my frd) moved along with her hubby to UK in Aug 2009 ( after resigning her job). However, she updated the DIAC with change in Address ( new address in the UK) via email to her CO & their visa is granted in nov 2009 & they both have validated the visa as well. Now, they have a baby born in the UK and recently applied for Child visa for their baby & presently she is not working. Having said this my friend is extremly worried that she missed/ forgot mentioning to DIAC that she resigned the job in August 2009 ( before the visa was approved). can comeone suggest what needs to be her next step? Does she has to mention now? doe this effect the Child visa for her baby? Cheers! Ash

  4. Hi, I hope someone might know the answer to this wee problem...... My friend from Singapore is on a 457 visa at the the moment and now wants to apply for PR as he as been here two years. He is employed by a locksmith company on a 457 as a 'customer sales manager'. He works permanantly as a locksmith in the shop. He has been a locksmith for over 20 yrs and has recently passed his cert III in locksmithing. His agent has now told him he can't apply for PR as a locksmith because he is here on a 457 as a 'customer sales manager'. He has now been told he must re apply for a 457 as a locksmith then wait another two years to apply for PR. He is in his mid 50s so waiting another two years is not really an option. Is it possible to get PR after the age of 45? Or does his agent know its not and is just ripping him off by going through the motions and giving him false hope? Can he apply as a locksmith even though its not his official title on his 457? I hope someone can shed some light on this as he is a great bloke and i really don't want to see him taken for a ride. Cheers
  5. I have been dwelling on this for some time and feel it is time to comment to get things off my chest. My wife is a Hairdesser and absolutely loves it. She has done this since 17, obtained her qualifications and is now self employed. Lets get something across. It is not as simple as just shaving somebodies head. Hairdressers cut, restyle, colour, tint to name just a few of the SKILLS that they have acquired. Not only do they concentrate on the above. They have the ability to make somebody, who lets face it might be a bit upset or down walk out of the Salon with their head held high feeling good with themselves again. My wife often comments that sometimes she feels more like a counsellor than a hairdresser. My wife has a few clients that have recently had chemo therapy and their hair is growng back. She has the responsibility of making them feel happy and in their own words " Look beautiful again ". I have often sat with my wife in the Salon that she rents a chair from and her clients love her and see her as a friend. And Im certain that all other Hairdressers that are applying have the same connection with their clients. This might be venting but I feel with recent comments from Senator Evans the occupation has been demeaned somewhat and I feel that the Skills required and learned over the years shows the dedication and commitment that Hairdessers have. I for one am very proud of my Wife and Im happy to have her even if Senator Evans feels that maybe Oz might be able to do without her for a few years. Regards to all PIOS Shane
