  4. Hello... Any advice/comments/suggestions on whether it is actually worth taking all my household goods would be greatly appreciated! I have had a few quotes from removal companies ranging from £3,000 to £4,000 with varied cubic foot space too! I am wondering if it is worth selling most of my things in the UK, saving the shipping fee and then buying once I arrive in Perth... has anyone done this and what would you advise? My concern is the price of items in Perth, I am led to believe it is very, very expensive? Also, if you have any websites of stores in Perth I can look at please let me know! I have seen JBHi-Fi and there electrical goods are reasonably priced, I need to figure out prices of sofas and bedroom furniture really. Many thanks peeps.... Laura

    New bedroom Linen

Hi all Quick question --- I have bought new bedroom linen for the family and someone told me that I have to take it out of the packets and wash it before it gets packed and shipped over. Is that really the case or am I okay to leave it as it is until we get to Oz? Thanks MB
  6. We are returning to UK and have to break our lease. We are currently renting a two bedroom townhouse in Black Forest, it is close to the train and tram so easy to get into Adelaide for work, only 10 minutes and the public transport here is very reliable. 15 minutes drive to the beach at Glenelg. Black Forest is very quiet and we have very good neighbours. This house would suit a couple or family with one child, sorry but they don't allow pets. The house has recycle airconditioning, and a secure carport. Both bedrooms have large built in wardrobes. The rent is $290 per week, which is very good for this area, similar properties are going for $320 or more.We have spoken with the agent and she has confirmed that 290 price. If you are interested let me know and I will give you the agents details. We move out on 4th August so I am sure it good be ready pretty quickly after that.

  20. Hi everyone We are due to go back to the UK in August and are breaking our lease on a house in Sanctuary Lakes which is a newish estate in Point Cook to the west of the city. It takes about 20 mins to get to the city on a good run and trains can be taken from Laverton or Aircraft where there is loads of free parking. Like I said it is a 3 bedroom place (could be 4 I suppose but we use it as a playroom). Ensuite, family bathroom and cloakroom. Open plan living, kitchen and dining area with balcony off. Small garden. Cul de sac. Utility room. Garage. Included in the rent is access to an indoor swimming pool (ideal for kids) and gym. We have 6 months left on it and the agents acting for the landlord have agreed that if we can find someone for the remainder of the lease then you can just have it for the 6 months left. Obviously the agents will have to do the normal checks but we are trying to save a bit of money with the advertising. So if you are interested, pm me and I can always send you some piccies. If you want to know about the area, google sanctuary lakes, it is a really nice area and we have enjoyed living here, lots of other expats too. Rent is $390 per week so $1690 per month. Feel free to ask any questions. Thanks Madge x
  21. Hi I am Hung living in Sunnybank Brisbane. I am frequent guest to this 4room and learnt quite a lot from pursueing my PR. While just migrated to Australia last November, due to sudden change in my career plan, my family has to move abroad by the end of this month. Therefore, we have to dispose all new solid wooden furnitures (alomost unboxed), new fridgerator, new washing machine, etc. and all needed for a family of 4 (including a Toyota Corolla - factory warranty until 2009). We bought/shipped these items to use - with 3 kids 1, 6 and 7 but did not have chance to use them in Aussie. If you are newly migrated and interested in these whole stuff, I can offer you a very good deal at once. As I have experienced, it would save a lot of time and costs for you at the initial step. Otherwise, I will have to ship them all to the new location. You can contact me at huy_duc_hoang@yahoo.com or give me a call at +61 418 776 670 (from next week only as I am on oversea business trip). I can send you the price list and pictures etc. Many household items will be given on a complementary basis if you take the bulk. Many thanks. HUNG
