Hi everybody! I got my 175 visa last month and now trying to decide where to land in Australia. It seems that it's going to be quite difficult to find an aircraft maintenance or avionics job in the Oz, so I'd like to increae my chances by going to the right state. I know that Victoria sponsors AMEs, but a Quantas Heavy Maintenance Base in Melbourne was shut down a while ago and so there still might be many unemployed AMEs looking for a job in VIC. Looking at seek.com.au it seems that there are positions in QLD, so maybe it's better to go to Brisbane? I'm really confused. Can anyone help me with a useful piece of advice? Thank you so much! If someone has contacts in any Australian airline or MRO or is an aviation employer themselves, I'd be more than happy to send you my CV, a cover letter, AML, qualifications and any other documents you may require. I'm a Licensed AME (Avionics - B2) here in Russia, but I'm undoubtedly ready to start it all over again and work as a ground handling mechanic or a baggage handler. I will then certainly try to convert my license to CASA B2 as I'm eligible for CTC assessment. I'm just limited in money, so I can't be looking for a suitable job for a long time. Any help is deeply appreciated. Thank you very much.

Yo dudes Just joinned today and know its a long way off until we finally get there but just wondering if there were any other aircraft engineers out there looking for work in the future ? It's all I've ever done, but would of course try my hand at anything to support thr family once we get there. We thought Adelaide a good choice as its just opened a brand new airport so surely they might be desperate enough to employ me  Anyway be nice to chat to some fellow hopefuls. Deb & Stoo
