  1. Getting frustrated by the min!!!! Hubby has done an informal apprenticeship (5 years) but no trade papers, 20 yrs experience CAbinetmaker. So cabinetmaker is via TRA, so need a qualification. An AQF3 could be acquired, but then I read, the TRA wont accept that either, as they require 3 years post qualification!!!!!!! So we would have to wait 3 years before applying. (what about the 20 yrs exp). We need to get moving now before July changes. HOW DID OTHERS PROCEED AFTER GAINING AQF3 qualification. Kind Regards Cazmayo

Panel Beater AQF3 (AQFIII) Recommend company

I have just completed my AQFIII for Panel Beating, it was very easy to do.... Australian Skill Assessment dealt with it for me. I live in Ireland at the moment but without a qualification i was stuffed, so Australian Migrations (Kildare and Brisbane) put me in touch with Australian Skill Assessment company who done the rest for me.... I will not lie to you there was alot of paperwork to prove my competency and nearly 4hrs of a Web Interview at 5am Ireland time, but overall was worth it. Totally recommend them!! ATA is OK for UK and Ireland but if your going to OZ then what better than to have an Oz qualification. Was cheaper too, not by much, but save where you can........ Aqf3? Tra?

Hi all, Sorry if there's already info on this subject, but I havent been able to find it. We're just getting the ball rolling on emmigrating but because I dont have an NVQ its proving very expensive! Basically Iv'e been told I need to do a 1 day practical test and then apply to the TRA on the basis of having the AQF3. This one day test costs 1500 quid though as I've got to fly someone from Aus to UK to test me? all well and good but on top of all the other costs and fees its adding up too nearly 7000 pounds! Has anyone else had to fly someone over? practical tests? I'm a self employed wall and floor tiler by the way, any info would be greatly received! Thanks alot!

    AQF3

Hi all, Can anyone tell me if you have to do an AQF3 as well as a TRA for a ENS 121, my OH is a panel beater and I thought that he only needed to do the TRA. Thanks
  6. Has anyone completed the qualification in this? Im having real trouble trying to document evidence needed for this qualification, and could do with some advice if anyone can help! Many thanks Jason
  7. Hi Im in the process of filling out my AQF3 documentation for a Graphics PrePress Tradesperson. Part of the application is an evidence guide covering all elements of the qualification and asks for evidence/documents. I work for quite a small company that doesnt have every procedure documented, and Im finding it hard to supply evidence for all the units. I know that I can do all that is required, im just struggling to supply the evidence/documents. Rarely are things done via documents, but more by verbal conversations. How do I document that? ANY help is gratefully received. Thank you in advance. Jase

    AQF3 - Process started!

Hey everyone, im a newbie, and have only posted in this site once! But I would like to keep you all informed of my progress in the HUGE step of getting a VISA! Firstly, as I have no written qualifications, I have started the process of (hopefully) getting my AQF3! Today, I submitted the forms and made the payment, and its being sent to the RTO for approval! How blooming stressful is this though? and its only the first step!!!!!! Anyway, this is a SUPERB site, and a fount of knowledge for me and my girlfriend! Thanks everyone! Jase

    TRA or AQF3

I have had my TRA passed as a time served steel fabricator and coded welder but have read that many states including Queensland do not recognise this (TRA) and that i would need to get an AQF3 certificate. I hope someone may be able to shed some light on this matter.

TRA & who gives the AQF3?

I thought I was about to start my aqf3/certificate3 in shoe repairing soon, but now the rtim university in melbourne who have put together a list of requirements to gain the qualificaton (18 parts) some are not shoe repairing but shoe making. so I have never done 3 parts in 20 years as a repairer. when I looked at www.ntis.gov.au it says certain parts out of each section should be done. Would I have to go with rtim or can I go direct to ntis.gov.au and be assessed and where does TRA come into it? can anybody please help?
