    Fremantle rental

Hi all I will be moving to Perth in September 2014 with my OH and we are looking to rent in the Fremantle area when we arrive. We are open to the idea of renting a room in a house or renting our own space (furnished is preferred). I know its a few months off but if anyone lives in or around Fremantle and has a place to rent, or knows of anyone who does can you get in touch. Thanks
  3. Hi me and my boyfriend are applying for our working holiday visa soon and looking to arrive October in Sydney (we are 19 & 18... (if thats relevant?)) I was wondering if it will be possible for us to rent an apartment if we only have a 417 working holiday visa? Also is it necessary for us to book an open return ticket? We wanted to just buy one way tickets to oz, and then travel Asia when our visa expires. If you have any other information that you have about ANYTHING on moving to oz that would be great! I've tried reading as much info possible but don't want to miss out anything important- its starting to give me a headache  Thanks!
  4. Hi, My partner and I are planning on travelling to Brisbane next week and intend to stay until mid July. We'd prefer our own space so would ideally like to check out apartment rentals however I seem to only find ones that have a minimum 6 month lease! Are there any websites, estate agents etc I can check out that are more likely to offer a short term lease? I should mention we are also happy to house/apartment share, we just would rather avoid hostels for now. Many thanks, Alice
  5. Help my family and I are arriving in Melbourne on the 26th of January on Australia Day. The accommodation that we had planned has just fallen through. We are a family of 3 and in desperate need to find a roof over our heads. At the moment neither my wife and I have jobs and we are travelling with a 15 month son. Does anyone know of a two bed property for rent either at the end of this month or next??? Or does anyone know of a decent serviced apartment on the cheap that they can recommend???? Thank you in advance for your help!!!!!!!!!
  6. Hello everyone, My partner and I are moving to Mandurah from the start of october, Visa and job all sorted but I am worried about the rent market, My question is for a max of $450 a week hopefully lower  will it be hard to get a lease fast? We have 10 days booked into a hotel so we can look for perm accommodation, It must have air con and be nice. I will be starting work after that and want to have our place sorted as fast as possible. Any advice would be great, Can't wait for the move but the renting does worry me so please dip in with your thoughts.

    Let down on apartment

Hi we are planning on a trip to Perth on boxing day. There are 4 of us myself wife and our daughters 17 and 13. This will in part be to validate our 176 visa and also to have a good look around. We want to try out the lifestyle if we can but we have only 2 weeks before we fly back on the 10th Jan. We are flying with cathy pacific to hongkong then to Perth but get there just before midnight. What things should we do to embrace the lifestyle. Now the problems we are encountering. We were booked to stay at an apartment complex called Everglades in the Joondalup area but we recieved an email explaning that the owner no longer wants to let it short term. So having taken our deposit we have no place to stay. We have been offered an apartment in the Hillarys Marina we were offered this also at the time we chose the other apartment. Trouble is they now want 50% more money, it all smells fishy to me:arghh:. Any way so we need to either go with them which i dont realy want to but we are having trouble finding anything else our budget would be $1000 per week max. Our flights are non refundable cost £4000 so must go what ever . Sorry for the rant but looking for some help and advice

    Dog living in a apartment

Hi i will be moving to Australia and will be taking my mixed breed medium sized dog with me. I will be living in an apartment owned by my sister. My question is; 1. Can I take my dog to Australia to live in an owned Apartment and / or is there any law which forbids this ? 2. While my dog is potty trained and goes outside, where do people take their dogs in Australia ? Thanks,
  15. Having been in Sydney for about 8 months we're considering a change. The original plan was to do the usual English thing and live in a big house with a pool, which we did and its been great in a lot of ways but in others not so much. Obviously having loads of space is nice and what we were used to with our previous house in the UK, however we've noticed some downsides too. I have a fair old commute to work in the CBD and basically there is nothing going on nearby, pubs & restaurants are only accessible by driving and they're few & far between and all aimed at families, natural enough as its a family area (Hills District), housing close to the city on our budget ($800 pw) wasn't easy to find when we looked and since there's only the two of us we're considering moving into an apartment in the heart of the city (we're thinking somewhere near Darling Harbour). I love the idea of being able to walk to work and to have all of the entertainment on the doorstep, I'll gain 2 hours a day by not commuting. I was wanting to move to QLD but my work is always going to me more available and better paid in Syd/Melb. I've always been a house person and apart from stays away for work have never lived in an apartment so I'm a little concerned I won't like it, but want to give it a go to see what its like. Can anyone advise or offer any experiences?

  17. Hi, I'm in a small apartment building and have ordered some clothes that will be delivered by ExpressPost - how will this work? Will the postie ring the buzzer for me to come down and meet him? Or will he just leave it by the security gate or will I have to go and get it from somewhere? Thanks!
  18. Hi, i would like to share a bad experience that i am having with real estate in OZ. Apparently before renting a unit you need to provide documents like bank statement, passport, tenant history, employment offer, pay slips, electricity, water bills etc... to the agents and fill in the an application form. The application form contains name of referees, past housing rentals. My BIG question is what happens to new migrants. How are the supposed to provide all those documents including referees in oz if they have never been to Australia. There are some documents like passport and bank statement which can be provided but what about the other ones. Apparently if u don't provide all docs, your application is rejected. And also beware those real estate agents are like a bunch of arrogant. The landlords make the final decision but If the agents don't like u, they can keep your application and never give it to the landlord. So far all my applications for an apartment has been rejected. Then if that's the case, what happens to the 100,000 migrants who arrive in OZ. Do they sleep on the streets until they get a home to stay. Any advice will be appreciated.

  23. We are looking for a holiday let for two weeks starting October 24th in one of the Northern Suburbs of Perth, anywhere from Perth up to around Clarkson. Just wondering if anyone can recommend a one bedroom holiday let which is reasonable in price and worth staying in. The main purpose of our trip is to validate our visa and look for jobs and somewhere to live permanenetly when we go back out in the new year so it does not need to be near a beach, have a pool etc although we would need somewhere to park a car. Thanks Nic :v_SPIN:
