  1. I am interested in the Albany/Denmark area. Here are my questions: What is the winter weather like? Is it cold? Or is it warm compared to Melbourne and Sydney during the winter. Also, is Anvil Beach a safe beach for swimming (with kids) and also surfing for beginners older children learning to surf. Is it a surf beach overall. What is the community surrounding Anvil Beach like?
  2. Seven National Parks in less than 70 km's around Albany, on the South coast of WA. Mountains, rivers, forests, temperate rainforests, squeaky white beaches, wild granite coastlines, natural harbours, wineries in abundance. If you are looking to live or travel to Australia, don't miss this region. I came here on a 3 month visa 27 years ago and never left! Albany is WA's first settlement, has a population of around 33,000, nestled between three hills and overlooks the harbour and Southern Ocean. The whole south west is beautiful and all the sites are close together, as opposed to going North of the state. WA is the size of Europe, with a population of just over 2 million. A lot of room to breathe! Just Google WA, there is so much more to WA than Perth and the surrounding areas. Waterfall Beach, Albany, WA Little Beach, Albany WA
  3. Hi every one! This forum has been a source of information for me the day I started applying for my skill assessment to the day I was granted 475. Now when the time of making a move is close i.e. November 2012, I am a little bit confused about where to head when I land in Perth. I am a Civil Engineer with 4+ experience and my wife is International Project manager in Telecom Industry with more than 7 years of experience. we have a one year old baby girl too. I must quote that I am not a person who would prefer living in a fast and busy city life. So I shortlisted Bunbury and Albany. Now I want the forum members to tell me the goods and bads about both the cities. Or any other city that can suit us. Some of my questions that needs answer are : As a Civil Engineer where are more chances to get a professional job? If initially I dont get one, where are the chances of getting a casual or part time job? Where the living is economical? Which place has good schools and hospitals? We have no issues with language or settling in a new place as my wife and I have lived in Europe too but I am sure Every place is different from each other. Your precious opinion is awaited and will be much appreciated. Please do reply and do help. Love to all Regards Shaw.

  6. Dear Folks could you please share some of the regional areas which would be more secure, with friendly neighbors. I will be migrating to regional WA by the end of july as single young lady. I heard madurah and Albany are good, but could you please name some of the best places in madurah n Albany (moderate rentals, close to hospitals)? Thanks in advance!!! Rebekah

    Moving to Albany WA

Hi, My husband has been offered a job in Albany on a 4 year contract and we are flying out on 9th Oct. Has anyone been there that can give us some general info on the place, I have looked up on numerous sites but think the best people to ask are visitors. It looks fantastic and very much my cup of tea with the ocean and wildlife but would love to hear from anyone with useful info for us. We have 3 daughters who are 14, 12 and 10 and have been trying to find out about schools but info is limited on some sites. Many thanks Fiona
