    Bush Meat

A friend just posted on FB that she just returned from Ridley road market in dalston (E London) and they have giraffe, monkey, chimpanzee and fruit bat being openly sold. WTF!!! So as if uncontrolled immigration from Africa hasn't brought us enough diseases and with Ebola being a high risk threat ATM people are still selling this sh!t openly and unhindered. Unbelievable!!!
  2. Hi All, We have been granted our visas for Australia, will be going in April. I am very stressed about taking my cat who will be 7 yrs old in April over with us, only because he has to spend 7 months in quarantine. I love him dearly, I want him with but am concerned about him spending this long in quarantine. Is there anyone out there who had taken their cat/s over from South Africa to Australia (Eastern Creek quarantine centre in Sydney), and what was your experience and how was your cat? Its such a long time to be in a little room. He loves the outdoors, loves having his space as cats do... so am not sure what to do. I have asked family if I can rehome him with them but unfortunately they cant as they have their own pets. Decisions... decisions..... Also, which pet transport company would you recommend? I look forward to hearing from someone...
  3. Hi All, Was wondering if anyone could shed some light on my situation. I am employed by an Australian company working in the mining industry in West Africa. I am contracted from Europe. I have not asked them about sponsorship, as I do not know my options, seeing as though I am contracted from Europe. Could they sponsor me even though I work in Africa? I work on a seven weeks on three weeks off roster. My options for applying for my own visa look slim as I do not have enough points regarding work experience, even though I have been in a project admin role now for the past couple of years.:arghh: Would anyone be able to help me with this? Many thanks everyone and good luck for the new year with everyone's applications!!
  4. I have booked flights to South Africa and have tickets to 6 games at this year's football world cup (AUS v GER, AUS v GHA, ENG v SLV, POR v BRA, ARG v SKR, and one R16 - prob HOL v ??). I am also thinking to apply for ENG v USA and the Final through englandfan membership (the final tickets are dependent on England getting there ofcourse, and a refund is provided after the WC if they don't) Is anyone going to any of these games, interested in joining me for some of the trip, or interested in joining my application for above games? I have 3 mates with me for the first 2 weeks, and then at a loose end pretty much from the end of June. Cheers and roll on the good times !!

    Australia versus South Africa

As many of you know from my postings I am very much pro Australia. After watching a great cricket match I can honestly say I have never seen such parochial reporting from the media it was embarrassing and sickening! Before SA went to bat for the 2nd innings the Australian headlines were "Australia destroys SA" well that statement backfired on them. SA played a very disciplined game and well deserved to win. After the game on tv normally they show you the presentation [if Australia wins] but today it was cut off and went to another programme! I listened to it on the ABC radio and Australia had more excuses to why they didn't win blaming the groundsmen for preparing a pitch to suit SA etc etc! After this I say GO Go SA in the Boxing Day test in Melbourne. A pack of whimps led by a big whimp in Pontin!
  6. Would like to know if there's anyone from South Africa, Eastern Cape, planning to move to Oz?:spinny:
  7. Hi all We're looking at booking our flights - can't believe we're this far down the line - anyway we've decided to set ourselves an end date as we need to validate by May 17 and contract role is due to finish end March. Hubby is from SA so we want to travel to Sydney via Cape Town - does anyone recommend any particular agent or website ? or should I just trawl the web ? Any advice appreciated. Sunsh1ne
