    adhd

Hi, I'm new to this so please bear with me  We are hopeing to move to sellicks beach in 18 months on a 176 visa. But 1 thing concerns, my 5 year old son has adhd and is on medication, will this affect our chances of getting a visa? Also will we have to pay for medical costs and schooling? Many thanks in advance. Nikki
  2. I am wondering what is the best way to go about ensuring a smooth transition for a teenager taking Concerta xl 54mgs here in the UK. Would a letter from the paediatrician help? or is needed? How do I go about bringing the medication into the country without any incident given the status of the medication. Is it possible to have a GP in a rural area prescribe this without a referral to a consultant paediatrician in Australia? My teen does so well socially and academically taking this that I would hate for him to come to Australia and have a miserable time because I didn't do the right thing before coming over. Has anyone else any experience of this? I am going to NSW, if that makes a difference. Thanks for any help.
  3. Hi we have our visa approved and looking to live south of Perth, looking at Success, Bertram, Jandakot, Atwell, Beeliar, Coogee. My oldest son is a sweet boy with ADHD and mild global development delay we will arrive in december so wont be able to meet with teachers at local schools so was wondering if anyone else can help by telling us if any of the schools in this area are great with kids that are not up to scratch with learning! We would also just like a school that is great with kids in general for our other son, I have emailed a few and got back sorry we do not cater!

    help adhd

Hi new to this site, looking to see if anyone is able to help. My partner has been offered a job with his company in aus, we are very keen to take up the offer, I have 2 sons from previous relationships, neither child has the father named on the birth certificate, and no contact with fathers although a csa claim was in for my eldest but minimum amount comes every 3 months or so. My eldest son also has adhd and currently being checked for aspergers, we are worried that this may effect our visa, we have been together 2years but due to my partner having his own house and waiting for his mortgage to come to the end of a fixed period we have kept our status as single, we have only recently opened a joint bank a/c (dec 09). We plan to get married early next year and my new partner will apply for parental responsibilty for my boys. The visa we will be applying for is a 457 visa, we have tried for a while to get a job abroad for him and delighted to get this offer, we thought that him getting an offer with his work would guarntee us getting away quick and have already started clearing our houses out, friends went out last year and were away in 6weeks, but reading on this site we are scared we are going to be faced with trouble. Can anyone advise what problems we face, and what we can do to prove my son will not be a burden, my partner will be on a very good salary so we will be able to pay medication costs, my son is very keen to grow up and work he is a hyper adhd with global development so acts a few years younger, he is in mainstream school with class room support, can I home teach? I have alot of family in aus also although its a long time since I seen them we would have a support network of friends and family.

  6. Hi, I was wondering if ayone can tell me if they have been in the same situation. My son has been diagnosed with ADHD, and will be on the drug 'concerta'. I've been told that most grow out of ADHD by mid to late teens so i'm hoping that this wont be an issue for our medicals. Has anybody applied with this on their medicals and been granted or refused a visa because of it? Hays

    Adhd

Hi all, were new to the site and in need of some info please...... up to now we ave applied for a 461 visa as my partner is from new zealand. Everything has bin done meds, police checks etc, but had email from C.O. on monday 2 say that all medicals came back fine apart from our daughter who has adhd, spoke to C.O, and he said that her medical had come back with a grade B, which apparently means it has to be sent off to Australia. Were panicking a bit now wondering if this is going to put a stop to our new life in oz. Has anyone had any dealings with this issue or anything like this, any advice would be appreciated.thanks. jane.
