  1. Hoping someone is able to help me out and offer advice! Little bit of a different topic. So I've been over to Australia a couple of times and fell in love with it. And in typical British fashion, would love to up sticks and move there. I've got quite a lot of close family friends and school friends who live out there so luckily I wouldn't be completely alone over there. I'm currently studying a Masters in Professional Acting in London and for the last year, I have been contemplating moving after I have graduated. It's now or never right? But my main concern is my career choice. I'm well aware that the acting industry is tough and very competitive no matter where you are - however I was wondering if anybody on here knows a thing or two about the Acting Industry over in Australia - specifically Sydney, or even Melbourne? If so, I have a couple of questions. What is the industry like? Is it a good place to be for a career in Acting? How tough is getting an agent? And are the agencies good out there in terms of getting you auditions? Do you get many opportunities in terms of Film & TV? Is it possible to get representation if only on a Working Holiday Visa? Do they offer opportunities to audition for US TV shows & Films? Any advice would be amazing!! Would massively appreciate it as it is hard to find advice on this through google. Thank you, Zoe

    Another great actor gone.

Ian Carmichael, actor with a zest for life Ian Carmichael, the comedy actor who has died aged 89, was once asked what he would do if he won £1 million. He said he would improve his wine cellar with a lot of "absolutely spiffing clarets". http://www.telegraph.co.uk/culture/tvandradio/7176094/Ian-Carmichael-actor-with-a-zest-for-life.html:sad:

Patrick Swayze given just weeks to live Dylan Welch March 6, 2008 - 7:32AM In short - they held out little hope for a cure ... It's time to start praying for a miracle Patrick Swayze with Demi Moore in Ghost. Latest related coverage View The films of Patrick Swayze Photos: Take a look back at Patrick Swayze's career on the big screen. Dirty Dancing star Patrick Swayze is dying from a vicious form of pancreatic cancer, reports in the US say. The Ghost actor is suffering from a particularly vicious form of pancreatic cancer which has now spread to his other organs, and is not responding to treatment, according to reports in the National Enquirer and the New York Post. The story first broke in the Enquirer, but the 55-year-old actor's publicist reportedly confirmed he was suffering from the virulent form of cancer in the Post's entertainment section, Page Six. After being diagnosed with the disease in late January, Swayze - who is a fully qualified pilot - has been flying his private Beechcraft aeroplane to Stanford University's highly-respected cancer centre in Palo Alto, California, for radical chemotherapy. The average life expectancy for the cancer is six to nine months, with only four per cent of patients living more than five years, the Post wrote. However, the three doses of chemotherapy failed to significantly shrink the tumour, and doctors have now told the 55-year-old to prepare for the end, according to the Enquirer. A source close to the star said: "He was told he could have two more treatments, but his cancer was not responding. In short - they held out little hope for a cure. "It's time to start praying for a miracle." Swayze - who is married to actress Lisa Niemi - has lost more than 20 pounds in the last few weeks, and is surviving solely on a liquid diet as he is having trouble keeping down solids. A representative for the actor said: "I don't know anything about this, I'll have to get back to you with more details." Sufferers of pancreatic cancer typically have a survival rate of less than five per cent, but as the cancer has spread to Swayze's other vital organs he has an even lower chance of beating the disease. Swayze first shot to fame starring as bad boy Johnny Castle in the hit 1987 movie Dirty Dancing before going on to star in a host of hit films including Ghost and Point Break. A really great actor & dancer - what a shame & still so young
