Hi I am planning to apply for Advertising Specialist for ACT (190). I am considering the chance of being granted this visa. I would be very much appreciated to hear some of your thoughts/experience. 1. Did you receive the ACT sponsorship for Advertising Specialist at the end?/ Who has been successful in getting a visa via this route? 2. When you apply for skill assessment, did you use agent? If yes, do you have anyone to recommend? If not, do you mind sharing your experience? 3. Do you mind if I ask about your background for those who are successful in Advertising Specialist skill assessment ? I was a strategic planner at an advertising agency before but not sure if my experience can fit into advertising specialist nomination. 4. How did you find the job ad on advertising? My agent had submitted the Vetassess applicaiton on 29th October 2012 and the Documents where uploaded on the 10th November 2012, Still awaiting response. The occupation is Call or Contact Centre Manager – 149211 state Canberra. 1. Need to know if some has filled for the same occupation and got any response till date? 2. Please advise, as my agent is asking us to wait for the verrification call that my employee referance may receive for verification by the DIAC and only then i may know if my application is getting processed - Id this true and there is no other way to find out the status? 3. Also need to know what is scope of a call center manager getting a job in Canberra - is it difficult to obtain one and what are the usual requirements. Given IELTS on the 12th Jan 2013 result awaited by the 25th Jan2012.

Hi I am new to the forum and need some advice on options available for migration as university lecturer - 242111. State sponsorship in ACT is open but it has additional conditions. It states that you have to be currently employed in the ACT in the nominated occupation before you can apply for subclass 176 under university lecturer. Can anyone suggest options available to me, to migrate as a university lecturer. Many thanks Cheers

Hi Guys We have just received our ACS skills assessment back as positive and are writing our Commitment Statement for SS to ACT. Having looked at the prices of properties - obviously we will rent first but long term we have about AUD 450,000 - 500,000 to spend on a property. My daughter is 12 now so she will be starting secondary school when we move. Ive had a look at myschool ratings and it seems that Burglan Anglican School - Gunaghlin and Radford College in Belconnen have the best ratings. I know we wont be tied to an area as these are private schools but was wondering would the commute be far from Gunaghlin and Belconnen if we chose to live in a different area. Ive done some research on property prices and it seems that the areas we could afford would be: Belconnen Gunaghlin Ngunnawal Dunlop Higgins Holt Page Scullin Evatt Latham Mcquarie Does anyone have any opinions on these suburbs or what they would be like for teenagers? We dont want to be in an area where there arent other kids of my daughters age for her to make friends with, but also we dont want to be in an area that we "should avoid" either. Hello, We are considering getting sponsorship by ACT but we are worried about the job prospects for IT Managers/Project Managers/Business Consultants. It seems that most of the jobs advertised are government based jobs and require you to be an Australian citizen. Has anyone else found this to be a problem? Has anyone else found jobs as IT Managers with only a permanent visa? We are really struggling with this issue, so any ideas or thought would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Michele

Hi, My wife received her Ielts score day before and we are very upset. We are upset since we were informed by our agent that we have to have at least 6 in all, however, she got 7 and 6.5 in 2 and 5.5 in the remaining 2 with an overall being 6. We have planned to apply as her being the principal applicant nominated under Public Relation Officer. Even though she has achieved the band required in speaking (6.5) by the ACT for PRO, we don't know what to do:confused: I somehow can relate with the one who said " So close yet so far". any advise on what to do next is appreciated.
