  1. http://www.tiptoptens.com/2011/02/16/top-10-most-richest-countries-in-the-world-2011/ So can anyone explain to a thick person like me why we are in the poo
  2. What a day! Out of the blue this morning our visa was granted and our dream future is on the horizon, What a rollercoaster ride with the most fabulous outcome, dont think its actually sunk in properly yet as our application seemed to be plague ridden and when we sorted one problem another seemed to rear its ugly head the last being my police check which unearthed a conditional discharge when I was 14 which counted as a conviction. We did the whole process ourselves in 10months which I think I did pretty darn well considering the problems we encountered. The moral of this story is if you want it bad enough you can obtain your dreams/goals in life nomatter what obstacles you come across, Dont give up until you have explored every route possible! I will be so proud to live in Australia and the next obstacle will be citizenship!!!! I will still remain to poke my nose in on here as its a fantastic site and know I will still gain advice and will need advice in the coming months prior to leaving(May12) You guys have been amazing and I want to Thank you all as when our visa application had got us down with problems this place has picked us up and lifted our spirits and helped keep focused and positive. Now a drink is in order! Gary & Sue :jiggy:
  3. Hi, We got the 457 Visa and will be moving to Brisbane by end of September. My kids are 5 years and 7 years old. Is it possible to enroll 4th term in Brisbane private/public school. And please tell me some good schools in brisbane. Regards Paul.
  4. Hi all Was just wondering if anyone has been invited the to Australian Expo in Birminham on 4th June. We got an invite this afternoon and booked our session. I was just wondering if may were planning on going - and if you've been to one before what to expect.
  5. Hi everyone I have been in Perth for 2 years with my partner (both 31) and loving it. The only down side I have found is that it can be difficult to make new friends. So I am proposing a meet up on Sat 4th June at the Lucky Shag on the river in Perth at around 3pm (TBC) or later depending on feedback. I am not really one for organising things and its just an informal meet really for anyone that fancies it, singles, couples and open to all ages etc as I know how hard it is when you have left a big group of friends in the UK to have to start again. So if like me you want to meet new people then let me know and if ther is enough response then we could make it a regular event I have started a face book event click on the link: https://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=222784141072012#!/event.php?eid=222784141072012

  9. Hi Guys My partner and I are moving out of a shared house this weekend (4th Dec) as we need a car parking space desperately. We are searching for a couple or single who needs short term rental accommodation in the CBD. The room is a large double in a HOUSE, not apartment, with large walk in wardrobe and ensuite bathroom, sharing with 1 guy and 1 girl. Just off La Trobe street, in between Russell Street and Exhibition Street, it is perfect for trams and trains. 2 minutes from the QV centre and 5 from Melbourne central station. Rent is $300 pw with a reduced bond of $1000. If you are looking for temporary accommodation in the CBD, or if you know of anyone who is, please let me know and we will arrange a viewing. Cheers Melbsbabes
  10. Dose anyone out there fancy some bevies this Saturday in Sydney's CBD. We are recently arrived poms who are looking to meet some new people. I recon "Fortunes Of War" down the rocks is a decent pub (although some may not think so) + there is a good value place a few doors down where you can cook your own steaks if anyone wants to join us for a bite.
  11. G'day everyone, Is anyone planning on going to The Down Under Live next Saturday and want all meet up???
