  1. Hello I am graduate Primary School Teacher wishing to move to Perth with my boyfriend (whom already has been granted a 190 visa). My occupation has been moved onto the CSOL as a schedule 2, which now means I cannot continue with my 190 visa application myself, I have to apply for 457 subclass (190) visa and the criteria for that is that I have a contract of employment for teaching. I have recently sen off my documents to AITSL to be skilled assessed and these can take up to 10 weeks for a decision. The reason that I am not being added as a de facto on my boyfriends visa is that we have never lived together in the 4 years that we have been together, this is for a number of reasons such as, work and university. I am currently working in Moscow as an English Governess, I have been doing this job since graduation University so that I could save up enough money to move out and start my life in Australia. Any guidance or help in regard to the visa process and more importantly, the job, I would be eternally grateful. Many thanks! Felicity
  2. Hi all I was wondering if anyone has had a similar experience or knows much about this...Any advice would be greatly appreciated. My partner has been offered a job on a 457 Visa in Sydney. His company are willing to have me added to it. We however do not class as defacto at the moment. It has been suggested that we 'register our relationship' with the NSW government (automatically making us defacto and voiding the 12 month period usually needed). It has been suggested that we fill these out together in the UK and once he is in Australia he can register us. It will take 28 days for a certificate to be processed and following that we can apply for me to be added onto his 457. What I was wondering was- Do you know hold long this process could take for my visa to be granted? Can I do it while in Australia? i.e. go out on a tourist visa and then be put on a bridging visa. and the touch costs this may incur? Thanks Emma
  3. Hello everyone I am planing to add my younger brother into my 457 visa and already got a letter from my employer addressing to the DIBP with his particulars. Questions: # How much is the visa fees for the above ( After completing a Subsequent application under my immi account and when I am asked to submit the total amount shows is $1065??? How much it is # Other than nomination letter from my employer in the company letterhead any other document needed (Like any 457 nomination they provided me for my application???) Thanks for reading my post. Reagrds Delwar
  4. Hi everyone, I would really appreciate advice here please! My Fiance and I are both on seperate 457 visas (We met here in Oz). We have been together 1 year and officially living together 6 months. My 457 expires April 2014, hers expires in 2016. We are not in the best position to fund the Perminant Residency application yet, so we are considering the positibility of adding me to her 457. Is it possible for her to add me to her current 457 visa as a defacto? If so, do I need a migration lawyer to do this or can we do it ourselves directly? If directly, please can you point me to the forms to complete / process information (I cannot find the official info after an hour searching - Im probably just being useless!) Thank you, and advice here or info on your relevant experiences is extremly welcome and appreciated!

    457 Dependent work restrictions

Hi Guys, Me and my husband are migrating to OZ by next month and we are in the process of getting 457 for my husband and dependent for me. I've browsed a lot of sites and in them i can see that a dependent can work in Australia. Now there are some confusions which i think only this forum can answer 1. Will i be able to work full time in any organization with a 457 Dependent Visa ? 2. Can my husband's visa sponsor object the fact that i should not be able to work on a Dependent visa ? Awaiting your responses... Cheers, Domli
