  2. Wellington Point, Sat 25 June, 11am. The exact address for the sat navs is Main Road, Wellington Point, 4160. Just follow it all the way to the end until you reach the Pacific Ocean! As you drive down into the car park there is a childrens playground to your sharp left (under a huge fig tree and next to the man made beach). Suggest we meet there?. There are no BBQ's directly in the playground area but it is a short nip to one nearby. There is also a fish'n'chip shop for the less adventurous! Or a picnic is always an option. There is a nice long walk to King Island if anyone fancies it depending on weather / tidal timings etc. Hope to see you there

  5. Hi I am due to take the practical assesment for light motor mechanic in may (25th). Now , im not overly worried................ as i have been in the motor trade for 17 years (damn im getting old) I have owned and succesfully opporated my own repair garage for the last 10 years , I am however looking for any help or advise regarding the test and any proceedures they may be looking for ,i.e Do they expect you to tourqe up the wheel nuts or are they happy to assume I know what im doing , ................ silly things like this can trip you up . I will ofcourse err on the side of caution but if anyone out there can give some tips i would be gratefull Im not worried about the skills tests as from what i can gather they are all simple competensy tests , like testing a crank sensor ,fitting a cam belt etc , all bread and butter stuff , Plus if anyone else is doing the test on the same day giz a shout !!! Best of luck everyone and see y,all on the underside !
  6. Hi everyone, Well we, that's my wife and 2 year old, are counting down now to are big move. Arriving in Melbourne on the 25th May and getting very excited. I have left a very good job and feeling a little nervous right now. I don't have a job lined up yet though some irons in the fire. I work in Clinical Research and my wife in Accountancy so hopefully we should be able to get something sorted out. Areas we have looked at to rent are around Elwood St Kilda. Is the area ok? We thought of booking in a Hotel first and then look around for a rental. Any advice for a initial entry would be greatly appriciated. We are both originally expats having lived in the U.S for 7 years. We will be sure to come along to the social evening at the end of June. All the best, Rob & Daniela:jiggy::jiggy::jiggy:

  17. At our last meet at the Green Park in Paddo, we thought it would be a good idea to get a regular monthly PIO meet going in Sydney, on the last Friday of each month. The next therefore, will be at the Lord Nelson at the Rocks (a British-style pub ... that brews its own beer, 5 minutes walk from Wynyard or Circular Quay stations) at 7pm on Friday 25th July 19 Kent St ... (Lord Nelson Brewery Hotel - Home). All welcome! cheers Michael PS The PIO table will have a purple dragon fluffy toy on it (it's the only thing could think of).
