  1. IMPORTANT MESSAGE TO ALL THOSE YET TO LODGE THEIR 176 VISA WITH WA SS Hi all, please see the following message I received from my agent today who are preparing our visa application; 'We heard from Western Australia today saying that they require all signed agreements to be with them before the 21st of June. We cannot send the signed agreement to them until the application is lodged. As this is the case I would strongly recommend having all documentation into me by the 15th of June so that we can lodge the application and have the agreement sent on before the 21st. Hope this is of help. Thanks, Lucy.

    Ticket booked, 21st August!

Woohoo, finally going to be reunited with my wife, I'm flying out on the 21st on a tourist visa while the partner visa goes through. 5 months now since I saw her. Can't wait to get there and start my life in Oz. Hopefully the partner visa will come through before the tourist visa runs out! Brisbane here I come!
  3. All welcome starting in the Establishment on George Street afterwork this Thursday.
  4. Hi all, Has anyone else received a letter on March 18th or 21st from DIAC? It was the one that the allocation dates update mentions as a special note on 8th June update. I am applying for 175 as an electrician. The detail issued on 8th June update backed up the letters sent in March to specific Priority 3 applications and told them to get medicals etc done. They said that they anticipated that a C/O would be allocated within 3 months of the letter date, which for me is now over 3 1/2 months ago. I am hoping that with the Priority Group changes on July 1st that this is still the case. Has anyone else had the letter sent in March and have you got a C/O yet? Regards, Mick.

  7. Hi there, Firstly my appoligies if this is posted elsewhere, but this is my first post. If anyone could help me with my question i would be really gratefull. My partner has been offered a job in perth and has submitted his 457 visa around 2 weeks ago. We have since been told though that with the up ad coming election all visa will be put on hold untill after the election has taken place. I understand that the current prime minster only has powers in a caretaker capacity and therefore cannot sign off any major changes, but i dont understand how that effects our visa as we are not waiting for confirmation on any lists or plans etc. If any one can clear this for me i might be able to sleep a little better tonight.

  10. Hi, i had my bricky skills test today in Preston vocational centre, after being really worried over the past few weeks building upto it it wasnt as bad as i thought in fact its quite basic stuff really and Tim the guy whose in charge seems a good guy and makes you feel at ease. I got there at 7.15 am and there was a few worried looking faces outside but once we got in it was ok, first of hall the assessor (Tim) gives you a drawing and youve gotta build it, its just a cavity wall 4 brick by 7.5 brick for 11 courses, one side cut to rake using hammer and bolster with just one course of brick on the back for the internal skin and tiewires, youve got a 600mm opening then a 1.5 brick pillar for 11 courses 2 course of corbles and a brick on edge, thats it. Tim then asks you into the canteen and asks you a load of questions (again quite basic) eg 4 types of brickwork finishing, 3 types of scaffolding, how to build an arch. they give you all day but if you get stuck in you could probly be away for dinner, all the lads that were there today looked as if they would all pass, they all looked like they knew there trade and all seemed like decent trowels. Good luck to you all anyway, hope you pass (and me) and maybe ill see you all on site one day down under.
