Moving to Melbourne on 20th Sept

Hi, Looking for some help. Ideally, looking to rent a 3 bed house, preferably new build and modern. I have seen sanctuary lakes etc but was looking for something on the south east side of Melbourne. Have been looking online as far south as Mornington. Any thoughts appreciated cheers Alan
  2. Hello lovely people, I am new to this and have had a few problems finding a good forum to post to...I think I have found the best on as there are a few at the mo! I am a copper of 8 years and my wife Clare is a registered nurse of 14 years (deputy sister), paediatric trained and some. On 20th Dec 2010 we lodged our application to try and get some of the good life. We have 3 children where the oldest is 12. The migration application is based on Clare with her skills in demand. Does anyone know how long this part of the process will take, before the medicals are required? And does anyone know how to access the site where yo can see how the progress is going, without contacting our agent each time? I have lost of wild questions to ask, but as a virgin user....that sounds wrong! I will keep the questions down to a minimal first off! Thanks you all!

  9. Hi All Just a reminder that the Perth Christmas in July dinner at Munja Gardens on 28th July at 7pm needs to be RSVP'd by Sunday evening on the PIO Calendar. I will be contacting the venue on Monday 20th July to confirm numbers. So far there are 6 people going. Would be nice to see a few more - single, couples or groups of friends. Great menu - all listed on the PIO Events and meetups calendar in detail. Cheers Julia
  10. Hi there, Just wondered if anyone had or knows of any rental accommodation available for the week 20th July to 26th July in the Adelaide CBD. Would prefer an apartment, that would accommodate a respectable family of 2 adults and 2 children (age 11 and 7). Thanks Julie
  11. Hi everyone, We will be moving out on the 20th July, if anyone is selling any of the following we would be interested. Cheap car $5000 max Child' s bed or cotbed. We are going to be based in Geelong, but will travel to get the right car, Cheers Jen x
  12. Hi All Apparently a new phone system has been installed in the DIAC building in Adelaide. As a result all the phone numbers for the various visa processing sections based in SA will change on Monday 20th April. The new ASPC number will be +61 87 421 7615 All the phone numbers for the various units are in the link below, together with the general fax number: Students applying for Tourist visas Best wishes Gill PS: NOTE - The information above is for FAX numbers, not phone numbers. I read the notice wrongly. Alan Collett is right. It seems that the ordinary ASPC phone number on the main Contact Us web page has not been changed and will continue to work. My apologies.

    Leaving October 20th

Hello my fellow PIO members. Just thought I would let you know, that I booked our flights yesterday. I know just received the visa, but figured, we are homless in 3 weeks, so the sooner we go, the sooner we can start our new life. We fly out of Toronto on October 20th. I can't believe we got our visa in just under 4 months (applied May 15/08). Looking into a furnished rental for when we get there. Lots to do, got to pack up our wee shipment (only sending over personal effects). Have sold most of the furniture in the house, only 2 pieces left to sell. Gave my notice in yesterday at work, they already knew I was going, but did not know the exact date. Felt good, but sad at the same time, as I had made some really good friends at work. Well I have mixed emotions at the moment, excitment, nervousness, sadness etc. All of this is normal from what I hear. It has been 27 years since the last time I emigrated, so can't remember too much of how I felt back then. So only 5 more weeks in Canada and then off... at least I am leaving before winter sets in (lol). :jiggy: Thanks to everyone on here for your support during the past 4 months. You have been great. Take care Karen
  16. Hey guys We are holding a meet up in the Mandurah/Rockingham area on 20th July from 11am at Harmony Park in Singleton. You can view full details from our site if you check Local Events. Nice to see anyone at all regardless of if you stayed with us, we are hoping for a good turn out as a lot of people came to the last meeting. Everyone is friendly & helpful & we are happy to chat & answer questions for you if we can. We will be there unless it is raining heavily so fingers crossed for a sunny day Have a good week Eve www.emi-great.com

  18. We are travelling to Australia on 20th March for a few weeks. We are flying out to singapore for a couple of days then onto Sydney for 5 days up to Cairns for 6 days and then back down to Brisbane for a couple of days before flying home. We are really excited about the trip but have a few questions. Is it best to bring sterling travellers cheques and change them in OZ? What clothing should we bring for that time of year? Any suggestions of must see and do welcome............ Gail & John xx
