    Any NSW 190 plumber invitations?

Hi We've submitted an EOI for 190 visa (February 2020), plumber 70 + 5, hoping to get invited by NSW. Wondering if any plumbers have been invited by NSW recently and how many points you had / how long it took to be invited? Or if you're in the same boat waiting for NSW plumber invite let's get in touch and keep each other updated on progress!
  2. First post here so hello all! I've basically joined to share my woes and hopefully gain some reassurance or useful knowledge whilst going through this process. I feel as if I am fast approaching a crossroads in my visa decision making so it will be good to talk it through with someone. I'll make this into a short easy to read timeline of my journey so far - Aug 2016 - Aug 2017 - Completed WHV (met gf in Jan 2017 and started dating) Nov 2018 - Skills assessment approved after a long laborious process. EOI Lodged for Engineering Technologist 190 VIC - 65pts. Jan 2019 - GF moves over to UK with 2 year WHV after over a year long distancing. June 2019 - EOI lodged for Engineering Technologist 189 - 65pts - Updated 190 VIC - 70pts (had to wait for 5years experience for these 5pts) *Since Jan 2018 I have taken x4 IELTS/PTE exams where every time I have been 1-2 marks off Superior English. Example - Spkg 9.0 / Read 8.5 / Write 8.0 / List 7.5. (I have another booked 7th March.) Current Stats - 29 years (30pts) / IELTS (10pts) / BSc degree (15pts) / 5-8yrs Overseas Experience (10pts) / Single or Citizen Partner (5pts) = 65 or 65+5 190. Obviously its imperative I gain those extra 10 available for the English exam asap but even so I think I'm in danger of not be granted anything before the year is up and she has to return as 75 or 75+5 doesn't seem to be cutting the mustard currently... So...Option A is we move to NZ at the end of 2020 and I use my WHV whilst we wait for it to be granted. (but will be EOI's run out by then)? Option B In conjunction with 'A' we turn to Partner Visa of some kind (marriage/proposal is a strong possibility irrespective of this visa situation)(shes waiting for a ring!). But still the processing times are ludicrous and who knows how that will go. Linked to this would a fiance 300 visa work for me to at least enter and be able to work with staying with her? I will be discussing this with my agent of course but any opinions or advice would be most welcome. Cheers, Alistair.
  3. Hi, I have applied for visa 190 QLD in September 2019 and waiting for the grant. I am going to get married to US citizen soon. He has got ETA (electronic transit visa for US citizens) to visit Australia, visiting me end of March. question: 1. If I add him in my current application, would it affect my 190 visa processing time? 2. should I add him when he is offshore or Onshore? 3. If I add hime offshore, would he be able to visit me on his ETA visa. (ETA has 1 year validity with multiple entries). 4. If i add him Onshore, when will he get bridging visa? P.S. He wants to stay in Australia for 1-2 years until I get citizenship, also need working rights. Thanks.
  4. Hi all, My name is Susie and am hoping to move to Australia with my boyfriend James. I’m an occupational therapist and James is a registered nurse. Our heart is really set on Melbourne and we are hoping to get a 190 skilled VIC state nomination visa with James as the primary applicant. James has 9 years experience as a Registered Nurse in the UK, he has a diploma in nursing but currently doing a top up course course to bring this to a BSc which ends in May. With 9 years experience as an RN James would have 85 + 5 points for 190 in VIC and meet the 2 year work experience requirement. (I can’t be the primary applicant as VIC requires 10 years experience for my occupation which I do not have). BUT we are worried that James’s 9 years as a registered nurse will not be recognised before his BSc bridging course. This would reduce our points significantly and mean we would not be eligible for state nomination from Victoria as they require 2 years experience. Has anyone been through this similar situation? I have been through a few threads, it seems that ANMAC will accept this experience but there is a chance that migration might not? Thanks for your help! Susie

    Secondary School Teacher 190/491

Hi Everybody! I've been browsing this site for a loooooong time and it's been so useful throughout the whole process of trying to get to Oz! I figured it was finally time to share my story so far and hear from other prospective or successful secondary school teacher migrators! My partner is the main applicant; points breakdown are as follows: age: 28 - 30 points work experience: 5 years - 10 points qualifications: BA and PGCE - 15 points English competency: Superior - 20 points Partner: competent English (no assessable skills) - 5 points Total = 80 points We have a positive skills assessment from AITSL and applied for the 189 in April/May time this year. Unfortunately we had 75 points at that time and the invites just weren't coming in for the 75 pointers and since the rule changes in November, we had to manually update the EOI and lost the initial date etc. and still are very unlikely to get an invite on the 189 with 80 points. So; we've now gone for the 190 and 491. We managed to apply for QLD for both when it briefly opened yesterday, we have 85 points for the 190 and 95 points for the 491. We are not using a MARA agent, I've done the work myself and have found the process to be very complex but can understand most of it with it enough research - I have dedicated a stupid amount of hours to this! We're currently awaiting registration with QLD college of teachers but expect this to go through without a hitch so I'm feeling hopeful we'll get invited eventually but no idea when! Just wanted to share where we are at currently and if anyone else is in the same boat? It's a little frustrating as when we first started working on applying beginning of 2018 we would have gotten there no problem with our points and things have changed so quickly since then. But, staying hopeful and positive Would love to share the journey with other people!

    Invitation 190 Queensland

Hi everyone, dealing with a Qld 190 state nomination... so pleased to get an invite but have 14 days to submit any extra required documentation.. including QCT (teaching certificate ADDITIONAL) to skills assessment which might take 4-6weeks! does anyone know if your EOI case officer has the authority to ‘hold’ your application open whilst you await a document? We asked for extension and got a week.. just wondering if they have much say over what happens to invitations/pending applications?! Also if anyone has experienced this and has recently had their QCT from overseas, how long did it take... thanks in advance jack
  7. Hi, I'm planning to apply for 190 visa from VIC as a Registered Nurse (254499) from a Recent Graduate pathway. I already satisfy all conditions and it's not a requirement for me to submit a job/current employment offer, but I thought it might make my case strong. I'm already working as a casual employee as an RN but I think VIC requires me to submit a job offer for a permanent position which I don't have. So, should I go ahead and apply for the nomination without an offer? Thanks.
  8. Hey guys! Sorry I’m new to this site and just looking to gauge some advice on the best ways to tackle the visa application process. Hoping to be sitting at 70 points (after IELTS test next month) and will gain another 5 points in June when my work experience hits the 3 year point. My partner could gain the application another 5 points if he was to do his skills test for joinery/carpentery but after reading up online it looks like it’s a few thousand $s so not sure it’s worth it for 5 points. Basically trying to establish the chances of actually getting a 190 for Sydney (our ideal situation) which would be our goal or go for the 491.
  9. Hi all, I filled out my application and submitted already but worried I did a part wrong. Give details of employment undertaken during the 10 year period before the invitation to lodge this application. Is the applicant claiming points for this employment? No Is this employment related to the nominated position? Yes Has the applicant been employed overseas in their nominated occupation or a closely related occupation at a skilled level, immediately before invitation to lodge this application? Yes Duration of overseas Less than 3 years in the past 10 years I put Yes as it was linked to my nominated position but not claiming points and it wasn't assessed by AITSL. Do I have to gather evidence now due to me putting yes? Thanks
  10. Hey Guys! I'm an offshore Registered Nurse (254415), applied for 190 VIC with EOI date-9/8/2019 at 85 points (Including SS points). I have been waiting for a pre-invite from VIC since a very long time. Not sure, at what points and when VIC sends out invitations. I don't have any employment offer letter from VIC and I guess, you actually don't need this if applying from offshore. Please correct me if i'm wrong. I was wondering if there is anyone in a similar boat? Any comments/feedback is appreciated. Thanks!
  11. Hi All, One of the Australian citizenship (by conferral) eligibility requirement is "living in Australia on a valid visa for the past 4 years" If I wanted to apply for Australian citizenship in Jan 2023 - does my 4-year count start on Mar 2018 OR only on Jan 2021 because I have a gap in holding a valid visa? Basically am I eligible to apply for citizenship in Jan 2023 assuming I meet all other non-residence requirements? Mar 2018 - Mar 2020 on 457/TSS visa Apr 2020 - Dec 2020 on no visa (left Australia after applying for SC190 visa) Jan 2021 - Dec 2022 on PR Thanks!

    Documents Needed For NSW Nomination

Hi everyone, I have a few questions that I hope I will get the answers here. I have just received an email stating that I got pre invited by NSW yesterday. The state gives me 14 days to complete the application form for NSW nomination. The state also requires me to provide documents as proofs to show that my case is genuine and my point is real. I'll break down my point to make it a little easier to understand. - Age: 30p (PROOF: Passport) - English: 20p (PROOF: PTE certificate) - Australian study + Qualifications: 5p + 10p (PROOF: All of my certificates) - Single: 10p (I don't think I need to show any proof for this category) There are 2 categories left, which are experience point (5p) and regional study (5p) that I'm not sure which documents I should submit as evidence. Unfortunately, the official website of NSW does not list which specific documents either. I don't have an employment contract since I'm casual (but I have been working at my current workplace for almost 2 years, with working hours ranging from 15+ to 40+/week). I can get my hands on my pay slips, letter of employment confirmation, bank transaction history and payment summary. Are there any other documents that I should provide? Should I also provide tax assessment or super certificate as well? Thank you in advance for any kind souls who reply to this post. I would be really appreciated.
  13. Hi Friends, I am a specialist doctor and need some guidance on 189 or 190 visa application. I completed my specialty training from India and applied to AMC & RACP for assessment of my training/education. RACP found me fully comparable to an Australian trained specialist and after completing 12 months of peer-review practice, I got my specialist registration. Now I want to apply for 189/190 visa. I want to claim points for my previous work experience in medicine & the specialty field. I checked Govt immi website and it says assessing authority is Medical Board of Australia. But on Medical board website, there is no mention that they will assess the previous work experience for points in immigration. I have called them also and they confirmed that they do not assess previous experience. Please help with the below: 1) How to get points assessed for the previous work experience 2) Do I need to get around 80 points to get the invitation, or is it less for a doctor (as very few people apply in my occupation) Any help would be highly valued. Thanks!!

    Maths teacher trying to emigrate

Hi My partner and I are trying to emigrate, I will be the primary applicant on 75 points for 189 but we will go up to 80 when the new rules kick in as he is a British citizen. I have spoken to a couple of recruiters and schools and they are all very positive about the opportunities for maths teachers. Previously I was assured that getting a visa would be easy but from looking on this forum, it appears it won't be. I know that Victoria will sponsor maths teachers for 190 visas, does anyone have any experience of migrating with a 'shortage' subject? Is the subject you offer taken into account for the 189 visa? Many thanks in advance

    QCT TEACHER REGISTRATION.

  17. Hi everyone, I have a question in regards of claiming work experience. So I have a friend who is currently working as a chef. His pay rate is in line with the hospitality industry awards. He works Fri, Sat & Sun. He's a casual so his weekly working hours vary, it can be 17, 18 or sometimes even 20+/week. He still abides by the working hour restricted rule, here's an example of it: 1st week of September: He worked 19.25h 2nd week of September: He worked 19.25h 3rd week of September: He worked 20.5h 4th week of September: He worked 19h The problem is, according to what I understand, in order to claim work experience, the applicant needs to work at least 20h/week. However, his agent said that even though he did not strictly work 20h/week every week, he still could claim the experience. The agent said when the CO asked for proof of employment, normally only payment summary and letter of employment confirmation/employment contract were needed. The CO may require payslips as well, but he (my friend) only needs to submit 12 weekly payslips which shows that he works 20h in the period of 12 working months (In the example above, that would mean he would use the payslip of the 3rd week of Sep). So here's my question. Is what the agent said true? Or besides payment summary and letter of employment confirmation/employment contract, the CO will require EVERY SINGLE payslip for every working months that you claim you have worked? I'm looking forward to any clarification. Thank you in advance.
  18. Applying for 190 skilled nominated, with Victorian State sponsorship. I was recently informed by my agent that in order to meet the Victorian State Sponsorship criteria I would require a job offer to support my application and show commitment to Victoria beacuse we have links with another state. My husband's family live in NSW and we have made a few visits there over the last 20 years. My husband also lived in NSW as a student for 18 months in 2006. I have checked the website and for my occupation (French Teacher) there is no requirement for a job offer. Does anyone have any information regarding this? Thanks
  19. Hi all, I’m hoping to hear from other forum members about their experience with State sponsorship from NSW. We have put an eoi in for State sponsorship from NSW (190), Secondary school teacher, on the 22nd of August with 65 points (including state sponsorship points) and I wonder how long others had to wait for an invite? My husband’s points are 25 for age, 15 for Education and 20 for English. The short(er) version of our story is that we lived in Perth for 14 months (on a student visa) till last March but had to leave Oz because our visa ran out and we didn’t receive an invite for the eoi we put in for Family Sponsored 489 (WA) or the 189 skilled independent (not enough points after they changed the minimum required points). Since then we’ve been back in the UK but can’t wait to return to Oz asap. We have recently put in an eoi for NSW as well, as they don’t seem to invite anyone for the Family sponsored visa anymore ? And from what I’ve been reading they need lots of teachers in regional areas in NSW, especially science teachers and we are more than willing to go country so I am hoping we will receive an invite soon. But sometimes I am losing all hope of ever returning as they seem to change the rules constantly... Thanks for “listening” ? and looking forward to hear other people’s experiences.
  20. So, as you can see, this thread is about what the title says. Just to be clear, I am, by all means, not an expert, but here is my take on this issue. First, please let me present the types of applicants at the moment and how the changes in Nov will affect them. 1/ Applicants whose partners have English & SA at the moment => they currently get 5p from their partners ---> When the change is implemented, they will get 10p, instead of 5p like before => BENEFICIAL 2/ Applicants who are single at the moment => they currently get 0 point. ---> When the change is implemented, they will get 10p => BENEFICIAL 3/ Applicants whose partners have English, but no SA at the moment => they currently get 0 point from their partners. ---> When the change is implemented, they will get 5 points instead of 0 point like before => BENEFICIAL 4/ Applicants whose partners have no English and no SA at the moment => they currently get 0 point from their partners. ----> When the change is implemented, they will still get 0 point like before => NOTHING CHANGE There is also a degree of priority being introduced in Nov, with singles and applicants whose partners have SA and competent English are considered to be equally first. Applicants whose partners only have competent English to be second and applicants whose partners have no English as well as SA to be last. This change is obviously good for singles and applicants with skilled and competent in English partners. However, people can game the new system, and here’s why I say this. In my opinion, base on what I stated above, the applicants who fall into category 3 & 4 (whether their relationships are genuine or not) will CLAIM TO BE SINGLE again in order to get 10 points, instead of only 5 points or no point at all, for the purpose of boosting their total points for a better chance at getting PR. For real couples, after the main applicants have already got PR, the other spouses, who weren’t included in the PR visa, can always lodge a partner visa after that. This is obviously easier to be done by people who are in de factor relationship rather than married couples as they don’t have to go through the complicated divorce process, which from what I understand is time consuming as costly as well. Of course this will make the PR path for both partners (de factor or married) become much more expensive and take much more time. There are also possible risks of breaking up or getting divorce for real, but let’s not talk about that now. In short, I expect there will be a lot of break-up cases in the upcoming November after the new changes are implemented. As suspicious as it looks, DHA can’t really prove if the break-ups are real or not and will have no choice but to accept that. Of course DHA can always alter the requirements or blacklist those applicants who do those shady things and thus make it harder for them to “sponsor” their spouses in the future, but who knows. I could be wrong on this, I guess we just have to wait and see how things turn out.

    Work experience for visa

Hi everybody. I’m a gas engineer looking to apply for the 189 or 190 visa. Just wondering if these visas require a certain amount of work experience before you can apply for them? I’ve been qualified and working for 3 and a half years. Also, if any other gas/heating engineers are on here and have moved over recently could you share your experience and thoughts with me please? cheers
  22. Hi all, OK first post... hopefully someone can help me out and maybe put my mind at rest (or not). Im a mechanic, 26, with qualifications and experience (carried out apprenticeship with VW), i gained my qualifications 7 years ago. Im applying for permanent residency soon and my main concern is with the vetassess interview via video call, i would really like to hear from people that have experienced this part of the process. I know myself i'm capable of doing my job but with it being years ago that i was last trained, and often rarely encountering some of the aspects of what i was originally trained in day-to-day, i'm worried what they will ask me and whether i will have the correct answers for them to pass! I am worried mainly about questions on testing electronics, auto gearboxes... areas that i haven't had much to do with, things that i know i could repair but still i'm worried about answering questions on them. i have read a couple of threads on a similar topic but the only answers i came across was people saying 'don't worry, its not actually that bad'........... i'm still worrying! lol I guess i would love to hear from someone who has done the interview as part of there process and to explain what it was like in a bit more detail... Is it hard?! What sort of questions would they ask? How in-depth do they expect you to go? How would they ask them? Is it more of a conversation than a test? How long dose it take? How would you recommend i prepare? Im not trying to worry too much but it just feels to me like this would be the deal breaker of the whole application! If anyone feels like they could help me out, it would be much appreciated! Thanks, James.
  23. Hi everyone, how you going? My partner and I have an EOI in for VIC 190 and are currently just waiting to be invited. We are over in Bali for the next 5 weeks before returning to Australia where we will both be on tourist visas. If we are selected while we are here in Bali and apply, are we able to return to Australia and even be there on this tourist visa when the 190 visa is approved? We are under the impression that a tourist visa does not necessarily come under the 'onshore' category, therefore allowing us to be there on holiday to then swap straight onto the 190 residency, despite having applied offshore. Can anyone help clarify? THANKS
  24. Hi guys, I am sincerely asking a question here which i saw are often much discussed, i have had PR for 1 year and 8 months by 190 south australia sponsorship, recently i got redundant, although i was informed in April, and i started to look for the next job since April all the way till now august (for 5 months around), and i still got no offer with my skillsets. now i am worried about next stage of my life, if i still got no job offer here in adelaide, can i move interstate. I am already 1 year and 8 months through my 2 years obligation, i can't just stay here with no job all the way till reach the 2 year obligation, i need to eat and pay for life expenses as well as loan. A little bit of my background, i have studied and worked and lived in Adelaide for nearly 7 years since i was 18 fresh out of my homeland, Adelaide here is like my second hometown where i spent my entire adult hood so far, however now i am facing this problem, i like Adelaide and i like Australia, but i need to pay for my life expenses. I sent a enquiry to Immigration SA, and they replied that "........SA government does not issue release letter, should you leave or stay it is your choice, and we still sincerely hope you have geniue intension to live in South Australia" My question here is if i relocate it now, will it affect my Australian citizenship or Renew of PR in the future because i didn't meet the 2 years obligation?
  25. Can someone please reassure me that we still have a chance of receiving our grant?? I don’t seem to see anyone waiting as long as us, do any agents have any advice they can offer? Here is our timeline and our agent has contacted the case officer by email twice since March with no reply! What do we do?
